your kidding? there are lots of "shoegaze" bands besides my bloody valentine. i'm sure he took a little from them all. every artist is influenced by what came before them.
@robdongwinkle yes, rob, my bloody valentine ripoff indeed, but that is acknowledged in interviews always. we also used some similar fx, mainly, the midiverb 2. but i think beyond that, the sound they created in a major studio is a totally different aesthetic from the 4 track work that was done in astrobrite. like comparing super 8 to 75mm.
