  • I like the sound of the New York myself, it has a darker more lyrical sound to it. You have a nice tone, keep it up ;)

  • I would like to know if the strad is for sale.

  • @LeonelAlexanderLeon Actually, I've thought about listing it for sale recently because I need the money more, sadly. I'll have to think about a price. Send me a message if you're still interested.

  • I used to play on a Mercedes (mk1) trumpet when I was a kid. It was an awesome horn!

  • Nothing compares to a shepherds Crook cornet. :) Especially an original Boosey & Hawkes Sovereign.

  • The Mercedes sounded more like a cornet and the Strad more like a trumpet. WAS he using the same mouthpiece?

  • I was.

  • @WAKeele where can I buy a NY Stradivarius? And are they cheap?

  • eBay and the trumpet forums are the best places. The Horn Trader is another place. And rarely they are cheap--which is a relative and subjective term. More beat up, the cheaper generally. But you can find deals on them.

  • @Huskyowner2007 Unless you collect them don't go out of your way to buy one for names sake. I had a 1938 Strad and it wasn't all that great to play and preferred my 81 model over it. Then again to each their own!

  • @WAKeele But it look left handed tho. ??

  • That's because my MacBook reverses the imagine in the application I used to record it--which is a pretty basic program for the built in camera.

  • @WAKeele Oh... but are there left handed trumpet or cornet made? Because I'm left handed

  • It's pretty rare, but yes, they do exist. As far as I'm aware, it's all a custom situation.

  • strangely enough i preferd the mercedes...

  • 2nd one sounds more like a blasty b flat. first one has a nice focused cornet sound

  • Hmmm--interesting.

To mean it sounds as if the first is slightly brighter than the second.

    Anybody else have any thoughts???

  • Meh. I thought the Strad sounded a lot warmer.

  • i really want to buy but i am not 18 how much you selling it for and is there a next way to sell
