See, listening to this last video, as a future officer in the U.S. Army who wants us to win in Afghanistan, my politicals fears are...

That many people on the Left don't have the will to endure this mission for years.

That people on the Right won't try and understand the tribal mindset of the people were dealing with, described in these videos.

I absolutely believe that we CAN win in Afghanistan and HAVE TO win in Afghanistan, but I fear we are not certain to win because of politics.

The US is a tribe of tribes, just more sophisticated. Pressfield argues that you can't change the primative nature of tribes.

Sure you can. But, not overnight, no.

I know what you mean, I think that may be his marine background coming through. Problem is no one has a good solution for afghanistan right now. I do like the first four vids that discuss the comparisons of the tribal mind set vs. the nation mind set.

You are right he has shown a clear picture of the situation, but what he has not shown is ways to solve them! Basically we are still in square one.
