What would you suggest for how to store bamboo or wooden needles? I got a pair recently and they began to splinter at the tip after a couple of days using them. Being a musician, I know that humidifiers work wonders on all things wood, and was just curious as to your suggestions?
Judy I was wondering if you could do a video on vintage knitting patterns. I would love to hear your thoughts on the history of knitting and old patterns.
It DOES matter on the size of the needle, but it doesn't on what KIND. Sizes are like if it's a size 7 US or 7.0mm or something like that. Kinds are if it's made of wood, plastic, ivory (I hate that one), metal, and bamboo.
I love you knittingtips by judy but boo to the ivory! You rock but did you know that there's an elephant genocide going on as we speak? Elephants are being killed at an astonishing rate for their ivory.
hi judy! love your channel! i have a question about the size of needles. what does the US and MM stand for?

UGH! I hate metal knitting needles. the stitches always slide off. Bamboo is so much better!

I really prefer bamboo needles, but use all different kinds. Over the years I've managed to collect quite a few.

...wood, plastic, metal, ivory, also -- my favorite -- bamboo!
rayodelsol80: I like that idea. (I'll be looking forward to the video, Judy.)

So, it doesn't matter what size the needle is at all, huh? Very interesting! : )

Thanks for clearing that up instead of just thumbs-downing my comment. Sheesh.

No problem.

Oh yeah, and, the bigger the needle size the bigger the stitches. The kind doesn't matter. It's just on how comfy you are.

@Weewinkle7 I don't think buying ivory knitting needles from a thrift store is going to affect today's elephant population

My elephant friends are happy to hear that they don't make ivory needles any more.
