It does. It features his family. I literally cannot believe that you are bitching about this when you would have never seen this had I not uploaded it and the fact that John is featured in every single part except this one. How ungrateful can you be?
@NeilFraudstrong Who said I was "bitching"? I was just being sarcastically funny. Who said I was ungrateful? This just happened to be the first one of your series that came up in my "you might like to watch" suggestions, and I guess it's the only one without John. I always take descriptions/titles at face value, so when it said "John Lennon - Life at Cold Spring Harbor Part 2", I was expecting to see John, that's all.
I'm actually quite amazed by these. the first one, in the dark, I thought was a put on but they're real. how did their home movies come to be on youtube? who put these on here?
I didn't know the guy was that keen on projecting everything they did?
Isn't it funny that when McCartney installed cameras at the Let it Be sessions he was not so happy.
The guys were more alike than the world thought they were back then, obviously … Just a sweet remark and that makes me even more sure that Beatles would have been playing by now if that stupid little retarded kid hadn't come across.
John recorded all of his family life to the point of obsession. John hired a photographer to take a photo of Sean every single day for the first year of Sean's life and Fred Seaman regularly filmed/photographed them as part of his employment. John was very keen on being in front of and behind the camera. He soaked it up.
@NeilFraudstrong Hey just a question, if The Beatles broke up in 1970, then why didn't John reconcile with Julian then? He had plenty of time before 1980. Had you ever thought of that? I'm just curious.
After Kyoko was kidnapped by Tony Cox, Yoko was quite vocal and adamant about it not being fair for John to see Julian if she couldn't see Kyoko. It was only after May Pang that John and Julian began to have a relationship.
It's Fred Seaman, the former personal assistant of the family. The lady who comes in at the end is Helen, Fred's aunt through marriage and Sean's nanny.
@NeilFraudstrong I have an original JVC camcorder made around 1987. It takes VHSc tapes. The quality is so similar to this though...this is 1980. This must have been filmed on a camera that uses a separate VHS recording device. It's filmed on either an RCA, PANASONIC or JVC. My point is...Big bucks for a camera like that in 1980. John may have gotten the camera in Japan along with his huge T.V and new HI-FI eqipment. He would have loved today's technology. Thanks for this as always!!
Yeah, I think you are right. John always had the top end electronics and audio equipment because he loved stuff like that. He was obsessed with technology.
@laosandburma I had a huge camera that my mom bought in 1984 when we lived in L.A and I was friends with the local L.A bands in Hollywood. Got lots of great home movies from that time :) The camcorder was expensive!
omg sean is the most adorable thing in the world<3 if that were my kid I'd never be annoyed with him<3 what a cutie<3 but I love kids... I just can't have them :( (adoption though)
both john and yoko look bored and looking at this home movie I can see why they dont seem to do much with there life's just sit around and look at the camera no wonder john was taking so many drugs I think I would as well and I cant get over how bad john looks he really looks so old here
Not really. She plays along at first and then she just goes, "Yep." When he says, "You know what? That's what." Then she completely ignores him for the rest of the clip.
You are not only a fool but a complete asshole. This is candid video. In real life, this is how people act. If you were to set up a camera of you and your family (assuming you have one, which seems unlikely) behaving normally, you would just be sitting around hanging out.
Does Sean remind anyone of Danny Lloyd from The Shining? I mean, he's way more hyper than Danny and I am not sure he has the shining, but still it's pretty amazing. The similarities I mean.
Can you tell us where you all this material? Fred Seaman? ...it's great ....also, Why you talk like that about Rosen? What do you think about his book Nowhere Man? ...Thanks! ...Neil ...are you a Strong Fraud? so many questions ....so much time!
None of the material contained within my uploads has come from Fred. Rosen is a hack and the reason Fred is so vilified in Beatledom is because of that hack Robert Rosen. He screwed Fred over pretty badly.
His book is at least semi-accurate, but I take it with a grain of salt. Fred's book on the other hand is very accurate.
I thank you for posting such interesting material ...and also I'd like to ask you if you know where to find Seaman's book on Lennon? downloadable somewhere?
Thanks for seeing the point of my channel. I want people to see that John was just a man. He's a man we all love very much for his music, but he was still a man. He was a flawed man, but we all are. He was a deeply complex individual. Even if he hadn't been a member of the most influential rock band of all time, he would still be a fascinating person to pick apart psychologically.
Fred wasn't kidding when he said John was a media junkie. Look at all the newspapers and magazines on the coffee table and at around 2:20. I thought I was a media junkie, but I am nothing like that.
This whole thing is so weird though for me. I am watching this video and thinking, "Haha, look at that kid." Then I remember that I have seen him in concert and met him and talked with him about a variety of subjects. It's like two different people to me. He also asked me if I knew any good bars.
I use to belong to a Beatles fan club called The Write Thing. There was a fan who provided photos and a story of meeting John in April of 1980 when John, Fred and Sean were leaving the Dakota for a trip to Cold Spring Harbor. The fan "Brenda" gave John a jigsaw puzzle and he packed a guitar in a station wagon Mercedes. I wonder if this was that exact trip? Did Yoko visit later because she stayed behind from the fan account?
I think Yoko mentions in the first video that "mother" aka Baba aka Isoke Ono didn't want to go out to Cannon Hill or something and that's why she was late because she had to make sure she was okay for the night or whatever.
That's why John had the camera focused on the door for a while. "Well, if there's no Mother then we'll change the scene!"
Yup, this clip sure has a lot to do with John!
