I cant beleive honda blatantly ripped off the avalanche and made the ridgeline. I see the avalanche for someone who wants a truck but really doesnt need it for truck things. still a good truck though. solid.
daaaaaaamn that moving cart with concrete bounced off like a bird hittin' on bumber :)) And the truck stood like a MAN: and said "c'mon you wanna some more, huh, c'mon, you piece of moving block" :)
What was the speed of inpact? If only I could own one of thouse, but they don't sell it in europe. Nothing but Kia's and 1.0Litre cars :D The most we've seen is the Range Rover Sport and the BMW X5.
Part 2: My girlfriend was riding with me and neither of us got even a little bruise. The air bags where like feather pillows and I we both can say that we practically didn´t feel the crash (except for the shake). My opinion is that Avalanches are as secure as they get.
That is until you run one off the road and it tries drifting. A friend of mine watched one go over in just such a manner, rear end stepped out when driver overcorrect and went off into a ditch.
I guess the length and the height of this truck might cause those sorts of accidents. I try no to exceed (too much) the speed limit and take the curves as carefully as I can, because I'm not driving a sport race car. If I want thrill, I better off driving it off road, and if I want speed, I would get a small sports car. Regards.
Part 1: I crash mine 8 days after purshased it. I was driving home the night of the 2003 fires in the San Diego area when suddenly a drunk driver crashed against a pickup that was about two cars ahead of me and to my right. The impact made the pickup turn abruptly to my lane and infront of me, and although I hit the breaks as hard as I could, it was too close to avoid the impact. I crash my Avalanche against another pickup truck at about 65 mph and then against the median barrier. Follows...
although Europeans and Japanese talk a lot about their vehicles and that theyre much safer, from what i see from life, GM trucks seem to be much safer, even when they turnover, the bed crushes so much but the cab pretty much stays in shape.
your right but if you look at a Smart (made by mercedes) crash test at 60 miles an hour hittin a block of cement you would be surprised how safe that thing is, the windshield doesnt even brake not that im sayin anything bad about american cars im a chevy fan myself im just sayin

1 reason is because its sideways.... wheeels gave it most traction. do a REAL test with the wheels facing it and lets see...

i think your right but most of deaths in car vs car accidents, comes because of big and quick changes of g-force ratio.
