I was given an appointment later that week and told about the "procedure" which was actually childbirth a day after my baby would be given a shot to stop it's heart. Actually atheism does infact fall under that definition. It is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe(namely, that there is none). If you notice, the rest says 'esp' and 'usually'. It does not exclude atheism.
Atheists were not there to see the origins of the unviverse and therefore any belief about it is strictly by faith.

Paul says that to be a Christian one must confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in their heart that God rose Him from the dead. Who can force anyone to believe something in their heart?

I never intended to blame atheists for anything, but to point out that atheists have their own nutcases. If they hold Christians responsible for all people who claim to be Christian or do evil things for our God, they have to claim responsibility for those who do so in the name of no god.

If evolution involved an eternity of burning torment and torture then that would be brainwashing. A child shouldn't have to be exposed to religious crap until they are 16 and can make choices for themselves as an adult. We consider them "helpless" to indoctrination till that age.

Either way, evolution is no better. It teaches children that they will die and cease to exist. That when someone dies, that's it for that person. It teaches them that all they have is here and now so if they can't cut it here...they may as well step on others to get what they want, or even die. After all, teaching a child that he is nothing but an accumulation of genetic defects that evoloved from the goo is so beneficial to them...

Christianity teaches that they have a loving Father who loves them no matter what...and that Jesus died for us even though we were His enemies. They were created and designed for a purpose that only they can fulfill. This teaches them that they don't need approval from the world so they are free to be themselves and strive. If they struggle with life's problems, then they know that there is a better place waiting for them and a God Who understands.

You misunderstand creationism. Of course things wouldn't stay the same if you were to belive the Bible. The Bible says that man brought death into the world. Because of this we are constantly changing-- but in a downward direction. You see throughout the Bible how humans used to live to 700 yrs and over time they died younger and younger. There used to be giants during biblical times.

Though I can't prove the Bible is the word of God, its account of creation is much more plausible than particles-to-man evolution. Darwinian evolution is "proof-less" too.
The only difference is, what we can actually test and observe is consistent with the Bible.
