i love Canada i lived in London for six months in Canada and it felt like going home to Australia a part from the weather after living Boston and dealing with unfriendly people it was awesome people were so nice and friendly Australia is still home but i would love to come back and visit Canada

I agree with you. Isn't Vancouver rated as the most livable city in the world. My favorite city in the world is Vancouver. I first, liked Toronto, because it's multicultural, and then Montreal, despite of the European charm, and then Calgary for the snow, and now Vancouver is my spot.

Great slideshow. I'm sorry though Vancouver won't be passing Toronto anytime soon. Vancouver has a metro of 2.5 million. Toronto itself has a population of 2.5 and a metro of 5.5. Vancouver's got a long way to go.

Is there a pride thing related to the population of the city or something? should'nt Vancouver feel blessed by a slow and steady growth? Vncver, Mtl, San Fran are beautiiiiiful cities balancing big- and small- city elements. Toronto is great, but I must say seeing lone skyscrapers rise over quaint suburbs on the 401, when still 30 minutes from city proper = yuckie. For a city with such an intuitive art sense, Toronto's zoning laws/urban planning is distasteful.

Toronto has 5.5 million people. Vancouver has 2.1 million. Toronto also gets about 3 times as much immigrants so how is Vancouver going to be bigger than Toronto.

@MilesPrower88 Toronto is more than 2.5 times the population of Vancouver, and it is the city that gets the most new immigrants in Canada. In a decade Toronto may end up being larger than the next 4 largest Canadian cities combined. Vancouver is almost always voted as nicer looking though esp with all the nature that is still preserved.

Another clue to how large Toronto is, the leafs blow but are the most valuable NHL team, and its the only Canadian city with a baseball and basketball team.

@MilesPrower88: That's just the inner city count. The metropolitan area is around 2.3 million now. I generally go by this number b/c we tend to split our cities up a little too much in my opinion. Case and point, both West and North Vancouver are considered separate from Vancouver and despite the fact that Burnaby is continuous with Vancouver it too is considered a separate municipality. Hence, the low population counts in some international class Canadian cities.
