Most boxers, can deliver punches that are lethal to "normal" people, they are brutally strong, but they achieve this powerfulness in punch by puting the body mass onto the punch! In most martial arts, the speed is considered more important! Box and martial arts have different purposes! But I'm sure Bruce Lee could knock people out easily just like a boxer! For exemple, is very common in taekwondo to happen knock outs in competition and they aren't as fast and strong as Bruce was!

Yeah, boxing is an art as well, it takes time and practice to get it right and it is as complex as martial arts! Creating a solid defense is pretty difficult! XD Those punches they throw have much more tecnique than it seems at first glare too! :P Yeah, there are boxers with Lee's speed but they're not very common are they?! XD Besides, Lee couldn't use his full speed in the films! Cameras of that time couldn't totally capture his moves! XD Muhamed Ali's speed was amazing too! :D

For people that actually "do" JKD in sense of it being a style simply follow the ways that worked best for Bruce Lee himself. No fighters from today including MMA & Boxing could beat Bruce. His attack range far exceeds any fighter of today, which means you must try and get close to Bruce without getting hit. You are only going to catch a lethal kick to your groin, nose bone, or knee. If you even get lucky to come in close, then you will probably get attacked in the eyes or the throat. Any one of the single hits will leave you incapacitated.
