  • screw the tach anybody else watch that speedo? dude went from 30 to 80 in about 3 sec..thats ridiculous..quite epic sir

  • hes on a dyno obviously....

  • I've hit 4k in my '07 6.7 cummins, and it's stock. Manual tranny though. It actually scared me a little cuz I didn't expect it to rev that high. It was an, "oh, shit!" moment. I wonder why mine was able to do this being stock and the 5.9 CRs couldn't?

  • I got P injection and a home made supercharger feeding the twin turbos. and when I drag im takin well over 4000, but mine is modded to perfection.

  • Ah, 4,000 isn't TOOO bad. Alot of those sled pulling Cummins run at well over 4,000 RPM for a full pull. Of course, I realize those trucks are built for it - Valve springs, rocker springs, blueprinting and balancing; the whole works. I don't think I'd be running mine at 4,000 regardless though...kind of scary!

  • The cummins that are running 6k are 12 and 24valve p7100 mechanically injected engines. Common rail Cummins are electronically controlled. Nobody has been able to over ride the ECM to allow for more than 4k rpm's. I am sure it will happen some day though.

  • did anyone notice that after run #1 the check engine light was on?

  • first off there smart guy the cummins in these trucks are not a v-8, there an inline 6

  • you are an idiot the cummins is an inline 6 you dumbass

  • than its even more pointless...BMW's are inline 6 and they rev also that high

  • the whole point is, its a diesel diesels "arnt made" for high rpm. they are low end engine. and the 6 cyl. being in a straight sequence makes even more torque. your an idiot still thinking that cummins are v8's

  • How big were the pistons in that little bmw? Lol, you're comparing apples to oranges. 4K in the CR Cummins is a milestone.

  • they may rev high but they're only 3.0L. 286 hp, and 427 lb ft with 2 turbos. But your right it is a really great engine and revs over 6000 rpm. I'm Cummins all the way, but I'd take any diesel(excluding powerjokes) before I'd take anything with spark plugs.

  • yea but look what it took to get there, :) but hey its STILL FUCKING SCARY! diesles shouldnt go that high! This throws my whole perception of reality off

  • thats badass my man!!

  • That's nice and all, but was there any balancing done do the engine? because I'm pretty sure that the stock bottom end was not designed to do that. It's bad ass, but how long will the motor last if someone hits 4000 consistantly?

  • Valve springs are on order.

  • depedning on if it was built up or not, it could last a while. we have a mercury 5.9 v8 in my boat, and we run it wide open, 55 mph, 6000 rpms all day in choppu water. i understand thats a gas engine, but still 6000 on a v8 in water when its choppy. im sure a diesel can last a good while..

  • If the engine was never designed to get to 4K RPM, why did they even puta 5K tach in it? Makes it look like a wussy gas truck.

  • always do that, we got a 05 grand caravan and the tach goes up to 7k, now when is a grocery getter gonna get up to 7k? in a rural area for that matter? I mean even 5k is ridiculous

  • Lets not.

  • It's on a dyno X'(

  • wow this is impossible lol i like cumins

  • holy balls

  • Oh My Gosh!!! FAKE FAKE FAKE!!! Did anyone catch that?!?!? In run #2, the PARKING BRAKE is ON! See the light on the dash?!?!? And if this was real, they would show the truck actually moving, and they would have the camera look out the window! And there is NO DIESEL TRUCK that can go 40 to 87 that fast. it's less than a second! Show me a video looking outside the truck, or a video of the truck on the track doing that, and I'll believe you!

  • ya but did u notice it was harder to hit 4000 in the second run which would explain ur parking brake also its on a dyno so i dont know what u think ur gonna see moving

  • That's real Cummins power in action. Not fake at all. Besides, it went from 40-85 in more like 3 seconds, not one. My truck will go 50-136 MPH in under 5 seconds all day long. Watch my videos, & see for yourself. That's not "fake" either.

  • Hey, I'm a big cummins fan, don't get me wrong. But I still have to say that the video is fake. Why is the parking brake on? Why isn't the camera moving around with all that power? And Why don't they show the truck in action? And about your videos, I do believe you, because they look real, so they are real.

  • No problem. This was probably filmed on a dyno, & the reason the brake light is on is because the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is sending conflicting reports to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) because the front wheels aren't moving. My brake light came on also when my truck was on the dyno.

  • I can see how that would happen, cuz one time I got the Excursion out on the interstate, and opened it up for a few seconds. During the process, the Service Engine Soon light came on. The trouble code reader said it was caused by an overboost. I cleared it on the fly with the Bully Dog Triple Dog. I like that thing! I just wish I could do the Crazy Larry feature like the newer diesels can.

  • Correct!

  • you can har a dyno in the background.

  • now that you mention it, I can hear it.

  • break it on the track sunday, walk to work on monday

  • Well taking into consideration how many years the after market has been working on cracking that stupid 3600rpm limit that Cummins managed to program into their CR diesels, this is a pretty big feat. This should really boost the performance both on the 1/4 and on the clay... Props to the guys

  • Is this impressive? What makes the HPCR engines harder to spin fast? Competition 12V and 24V spin to 5500-6000 with a crankshaft girdle and studs. All the while inhaling way more boost. It sure does sound mean at that rpm though.

  • this is obviously on a dyno

  • i have an 04.5 cummins common with a ppe hot+2, 100hp injectors, 62mm turbo, full billet trans.the truck is doing the q/m in 13.5 on the 2nd highest setting. i need 2 fuel pumps to stack or program any more, or run nos!

  • its in drive so why wont it shift?

  • i have no idea wat a Common rail Cummin but y is it a big deal that it can hit 4000rpm?

  • from the factory the Common Rail only turns about 3200 RPM

  • huh? the looney tune in a 6.0oh ford shifts at 4100rpm..It mis shifted once and hit 5250rpm data logged

  • Very nice. Keep up the polluting work.

  • the stopping and starting at the beginning of this video is so fucking annoying, how about just cut the bullshit and play the video through, once, without interruptions? i would not buy this product simply because the advertising is so irritating.

  • I agree! time to fire the guy in charge of marketing.

  • how much is a smarty i suppose i could just google it lol

  • His Seat Belt light is on... that's safe :P

  • holy crap thats fast

  • You do realize that this was a Dyno. It was not on the road...

  • its on a dyno

  • my pops has an 03 cummins and were lookin to put a chip in it whats the best one to buy??

  • 10 people will tell you 10 different chips. Basically comes down to what are your intentions.

  • smarty or edge

  • Smarty stacked with BD X-power

  • i would say eather a bully dog like me or the dioblo preditor like my friend

  • 2 things. one- im not impressed. my friends pulling truck hits 5910 rpms. and i not it that exact because it has a digital rpm gauge (all pulling trucks usually do) and i think this truck is on a dyno. notice there is no shaking, and you can't hear the road, and if their speedo was going that fast why dont they show the road?

  • It is on a dyno dummy, you can hear the dyno in the background.

  • Umm, its pretty obvious its on a dyno...I'd also love to see your friends 2004 24v Cummins hit 5910 RPMS.

  • Duh!!! If you'll look at the video you'll see the parking break is locked. O what the hell does the sentence say after 5910 rpms.

  • Yeah, I can't believe they didn't catch that!

  • (on bro's account)

The point was showing it hitting 4000RPM, not how fast it's going.

  • they didnt say they were on the road... and they said run so i would assume they were on a dyno... they just said it would and it did

  • Top speed of 87 mph? whats the raio on it? 4:11? 4:33?

  • It was probably in 3rd or 4th depending on what transmission it is.

  • We had OD off, and grounded the shift solenoid wire so it would stay in 3rd.

  • 87 mph... probally like 6:11s...lol

  • this is dumb i got an 03 cummins with no work done to it and if iturn my tow/haul off i can do the same damn thing

  • i gotta 04 quadcab 4x4 cummins also with smarty. we gotta a new 08 mega cab 6.7 laramie 4x4 as well, everything in it fully loaded., smarty makin a chip for that, that will come soon. nothin better

  • lol..

    cummins:P

    that allways cracks me up:)

  • why is tow/haul on? jw

  • you can really tell who knows somthing about a diesel and those who know nothing about them in there coments

  • gas engines suck major ass. plus they don't last as long as diesel's do. want a real truck BUY A DIESEL!!!!!!

  • well, its true a diesel most likley last longer than a gas engine

but one major factor is maintnence

example... if you don't change your oil in a diesel, but u do in a gas engine, the gas will last longer

and gas engines don't suck ass [the 318 in my RAM can pull a 10000 lbs corn head!!!!!!!!!]

  • i agree, i think that your maintainence depends on your background really. im training to get ase cert. so im very meticulous with my car care. ive been fixing the worn stuff on my 89 power ram w/ a 318. i jus popped out two freeze plugs today and there was some nasty shit i pulled out of there. but ive done well over a $1000 worth of work and im only 16, so i know what im doing

  • Ughh, when will american people wake up and realise that we're not in 1970 anymore? The old days of smelly, noisy & polluting diesel are gone. Especially, with common rails and a particulate filter, diesel are powerful and they are fuel efficient. Sometime, I can do 60mpg with my VW diesel.

  • Muchilus, you live in the Domincan Republic, and the only thing you can think up to bitch about, are the bad odor diesels.

  • you vw diesel must be a pussy. my friends 2500 cummins does 145 and has 1200 ft/lbs of torque

  • Muchilus, you live in the Domincan Republic, and the only thing you can think up to bitch about, are the bad odor diesels.

  • Muchilus, you live in the Domincan Republic, and the only thing you can think up to bitch about, are the bad odor diesels.

  • Muchilus, you live in the Domincan Republic, and the only thing you can think up to bitch about, are the bad odor diesels.

  • You May Think Your Petrol Is Cleaner Than A Diesel but YOUR WRONG. HAHA

In Northern Ireland We Have Tax Bands A-G

    Most Diesels Are C + D Class

    A Being The BEST

    G Being The WORST

A Class Tax Is FREE I Think

G Class Tax Is £400 A Year + Going UP

  • 105? U must be insane.. diesel is equivalent to 130 octane.. gas vehicles make power and lose mpg, diesels make more power and more economical.. U have a lot of reading to do muchilus.. I also thought that gas was better.. until you own one then you will really know.. NOW I KNOW. Don't hate participate.

  • Muchilus....

    yeah... dont talk.

  • shutup dumbass. Everyone reading your bullshit knows you don't know wtf you're talkin about.

  • Diesel power Baby...

  • "would like to see a 12 valve do that and survive" haha im thinking this guy drives an old 12 valve farm truck and has no idea about the 12 valves potential. Oh and about the vid Big deal anyone can hook a 12 valve up to a 3rd Gen dash lol J/K nice job.

  • I saw somewhere else the 5.9 has a vibration problem at exactly 4000 RPM, not any lower, not any higher, just at 4000. Someone else said that if your gonna be high revving you'll want 60lb valve springs.

  • Havent heard much about the 4k rpm vibrations, but valve springs are a must for any sort of longevity.

  • Thats pretty much on the side of badass

  • And is your car a 5.9 liter straight 6 diesel, that weighs 1100 lbs?

  • Would you like a medal?

  • Gas engines turn a lot of RPMs a lot easier than diesels.

  • yeah, and my RC car does 30,500 stock. What's your point. Different engines.

  • do you have the overdrive off?

  • Why? Whats the point of reving it to 4000? Its clearly not making any power that high up, whats the need to rev it so far out of its power band?

  • It moved the power band up about 800rpm. Instead of making max HP @ 3000rpm it made it @ 3800rpm

  • wow couldn't use that on the farm due to stress when towing

    sweet though

would like to see a 12 valve do that and survive

  • "Id like to see a 12 valve do that and survive" Are you serious? LOL!

  • a 12 valve in stock form while being used on the farm for everyday work [we have a tendancy to work our farm trucks real hard, even my 1/2 ton with the 318 SB]

now if the bottom end was modified and a set of stronger valve springs put in, and a set of govenor springs put in the injection pump to allow it to run 4grand [or more, ive seen a pulling truck run 6k although that motor was worth more than my truck total]

  • haha hit 4500 rpm and just watch it go POOF

  • That sounds so awesome. The bottom end should be able to handle those revs without any big problem, right?

  • Bottom end yes, valvetrain?????

  • Guess the only way to find out would to bolt head upto a valve testing rig and check for float

  • Wowzers... that's a lovely sound. I'm a bit of a new comer but I've got an 07 5.9 in the high 12s on fuel only. 48RE turned into a slush box. I'm runnin an HTS with suncoast converter. Keep an eye out my vids, I'll have em up soon.

  • how do you like the bd transmission?

  • The race version with billet shafts as been pretty reliable. 4wd launches with 600+hp tend to eat up transmissions , but this one has held up.

  • what were your numbers on the dyno

  • Thats impressive

  • what does banks duramax rev to? you know the d-max dragster

  • God I can't get enough of that diesel. Sounds like a Detroit Diesel 6V71N 2-stroke.

  • agreed

  • I can't remember the guy's name, but he has a white 9 second regular cab 12V 2Gen Ram in Washington that has been labled the fastest street legal diesel in America. I know that truck turns over 4500, and he's building a 12V in a former Pro Stock Truck chassis to turn 7800! He's hoping for mid-sevens with it.

  • Ive heard the same, I believe his name is Bill Fletcher.

  • on the first run your put 1 mile on it lol

  • Is that hard on a cummins to hit 4 grand? i have a 2007 cummins 5.9 with a bullydog tuner with the crazy larry edition, 5 inch magnaflow, banks cold air and a technicooler. i set my max rpm to 4000, i seen it reach 3,800.. i love the power but dont want to break

  • With a stock valve train I wouldn't go around on a regular basis doing more then 3500 RPM.

  • Yeah but does it make power to 4000rpm's? if it dosent your hurting the engine for nothing

  • I should have showed the graph in the video. But yes it does make power to 4000rpm, the whole torque/hp curve moved over about 800rpm! This truck will defiantly need valve train upgrades though.

  • yeah for sure

  • lets see you do it wiht a manual trans

  • Why does that turbo have such bad lag? It doesn't do anything till 2.5k

  • We ran it on our dyno and didnt give it WOT until 45mph otherwise it would have down shifted into second. But on the street this is one of the fastests spooling set of turbos Ive ever driven.

  • It's CUMMINS not CUMMINGS. I hate that infamous G that somehow sneaks it's way into the name. That's a pretty cool video. The truck must've been on the dyno rollers. Most trucks like this one have 800-900 hp and over 1400 ft lbs of torque.

  • "It's CUMMINS not CUMMINGS. I hate that infamous G that somehow sneaks it's way into the name."

Amen! Even my brother-in-law says Cummings while looking at the badge on mine. I know one day I'll lose it and punch him in his mouth for it.

  • very impressive, I saw a video of banks racing going to build a 7000 rpm cummings turbo for truck racing for the grand prix and circut racing, looking at outputs between 500 and 700 hp.

  • well your half right its actually a duramax that they are pushing to 7 grand

  • THERE'S NO G IN CUMMINS! GET IT RIGHT!

  • HOLY FK"N S#!T !!! Please excuse me, time to rub one out!

Congrats... that was beyond incredible. Watching the speedo was even more impressive! Hats off to the Chef

  • thats alsome pacific performance enginering has a tuner out that can do 4200 rpms until it cuts off fuel

  • Cant Wait!!!

  • Good work. I can't wait to see a 4000rpm for the VP44 trucks.
