  • Pete, it`s a tasty little rendition my friend..

  • Dear Pete,

This is very feelingfully rendered and just lovely.

    Regards,

    Dimple

  • Thank you.

  • 涙が出ました。ありがとう。

  • Thank you very much

  • Wow, what a beautiful rendition....and what a beautiful guitar, Pete. Not sure on where the lyrics are from., I believe my dad knows something about it tho.... ;)

  • Most people say it was written by an Englishman so I was wrong again lol. Thanks for listening my friend I appreciate it.

  • While listening to this wonderful performance, I was wondering: would you be able to cover Pink Floyd's Coming Back to Life intro? I bet it'd be brilliant with that very same guitar, my friend... Think about it, Pete:)

  • I'll have a look at it my friend, Thanks.

  • beautiul sound man played excellantly great equipment 2 god im jealous

  • ahhh!

my mommy used to sing me this song when i was i little lad.

    excellent Pete!

  • Thanks Dan.

  • That Gibson has a nice sound. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you my friend, when are you going to post something up here?

  • Cheers, I appreciate that. The guitar is a Gibson es175, I'm playing it through a Laney lc30 tube amp that is mic-ed to a Marshall AS50D accoustic amp with the reverb set to 7 and then that amp is connected to the PC. Probably too much reverb because it's a very hard room and as the Laney is mic-ed it's probably having an effect. Thanks again.

  • Now that was beautifull, very peacefull and relaxing great for Easter, well done

    Gerry/Hobbit

  • Thanks Gerry, hope you're having a great Easter. Any Easter offerings from you and Andy this weekend?

  • Well the trick would be finding one to sing with me lol. Thanks.

  • Thats too good

i've heard this song probably more 1000 times and never have i heard it like this, get the words in my friend, maybe a female singer with a strong Irish accent and you ll blow our socks off all the way to the bonny land of Ireland, BRILLIANT

  • Sooooo good! That was great, I love your style... and what a cool guitar, reminds of one of Trini Lopez' guitars... Thanks for the great song...FrAnK

  • Thanks Frank, I do have a penchant for archtops.

  • Cheers Andy, hows it going down under. Have a good Easter mate.

  • Ahhh brings a tear to me eye everytime I hear Danny boy.. *****

  • Sorry I didn't intend to make you cry lol. Thanks Gerry.

  • for me this melody is wonderful, pure relax!

  • Thanks Jimmy, must get over and see what you've been up to.

  • nothing nasty about that pete thats quality again mate 5. no probs and more

  • Cheers Clarke, I'm not over happy with what I played (I should learn the melody really lol), but I was quite pleased with the sound.

  • Beautiful rendition, for a traditional tune without time!...

    luca

  • Thank you very much.

  • Oh Pete, that is just beautiful!!! I'm putting this in my favorites!!

  • Thank you Sherri that is very nice of you. Great couple videos you put up yesterday.

  • Appalling? I think not! Very nice arrangement! (I heard this song was "unoffically" banned in New York by traditionalists during St. Patricks day)

  • Thanks John. Banned? for what possible reason.

  • Ha! Apparently this song is "over-requested" to session players here in the states. In the middle of a traditional session tune, someone invariably yells "Do Danny Boy! Then the argument ensues about it not being Irish but rather English and then it starts! The bashing begins, I guess! I saw an article about this on the internet, so it must be true! :-)

  • Oops... I stand corrected, it was only banned in one pub. You can do a search - Danny Boy Banned New York, and a number of explanations will come up!

  • Wow! Very good! How many guitars do you have Pete?

  • Thank you very much Becky. I have 5 and my youngest has 3.

  • Beautiful...made the hair on the back of my neck rise....5*****....RT

  • Thanks RT, I really appreciate that.

  • Fantastic Pete! Really nice guitar!

  • Cheers Lar, I'm going to check out your My Space pages shortly. I've followed your advice with the Gibson.

  • Now then. Funny thing about Danny Boy is the music is 'A Londonderry Air' but the lyrics were written by an Englishman who actually never visited Ireland.

    Nice guitar you have there.

  • Cheers, I've just read that on the internet.

  • Lovely Pete :)

I don't think this had anything to do with the American civil war...Regards, Jack

  • I agree. I'm from Northern Ireland (where its kinda an unoffical national anthem.) Its about a guy who left home. Also the tune is actually called 'A Londonderry Air'.

  • No, apparently not, sure I heard that once though. Thank you.

  • Beautiful Pete. :)

  • Thanks Ed, I appreciate it.
