if that happens just lower the k/v rating or the gearing. 7700 is pretty high in 10th. 85000+rpm is no joke! 10th scale should be limited to 70000rpm under a light load and 65000 or less with a tall gear (from my experiments)

With BL, you *times the KV by the volts to get the RPM, so 11.1V *times 7700Kv motor = 85470 RPM, very fast.

i run a 7700/3s in my parking lot buggy, it doesnt overheat. the 7700 is good for bursts up to 100k rpm, i havent tried the 3s on the 9000 yet though

If you've got a 7700 Mamba Max, don't get an 11.1V lipo. The biggest you can get is a 2S 7.4V for the 7700 Mamba. Otherwise it will cause the motor and ESC to overheat and fry if used for anything other than a few seconds (drag racing).

Also, don't get one off of Ebay, they are mostly Hong Kong crap and will do you more bad than good, stick to well known brands (Orion, Maxamps, LRP etc)

You can get a good one for around £40-£80 ($65-140), look at your local hobby store if you have one.

most of the reasoning behind the damage caused by a 11.1v lipo in the mamba motors is because of its inherit problem with sensorless design and the ESC has to first "sense" the rotor position before it can goto full speed from a stand still when it first starts out since there is no sensor on the motor the ESC has to do the work and has to work alot harder to find the motor rotor position and the ESC goes into "cycle mode" till its sure the rotor is in the right position using 11 volts burns it

La tecnologia ha fatto passi da gigante. Io sono femro ancora alla freccia rossa della Gig Nikko che andava con 8 batterie stilo ricaricabili ed aveva un differenziale (che scassai a forza di farla andare avanti e indietro di colpo) con un selettore L e H per la velocità bassa ed alta. Però, se ci fosse ancora, avrebbe anche 20 anni!!!! La tua è il massimo!!!!

i know that space is an issue in cars but in my rustler i have a heli brushless motor they can handle way more lipo cells than any car brushless system not that u would want to run that many cells because of weight size and the price of lipo is crazy i run 6 cells i only put the heli motor in to show off when my freind lets my borrow his lipo haha nice vid

yes but heat is a major issue with that high rpm. and amp draw. it puts a ton of stress on everything. thats why they say dont do it. driving like that, i doubt it would last 5 minutes without it overheating./..

The new ones are rated for 100,000 rpm. So they will be able to handle it. I dont know if this is one of them, but its not the first time i have seen someone using 3 cell on a 7700.
