your description says- "The only major problem about it is that it crashes way way to much." were you using some RC(release candidate)/Beta version? for the stable version of Ubuntu doesn't crash "way way to much"...
@mzs114 This was way back when I had my computer with 128 MB of RAM. And I also had the RC version of Jaunty. Now I am running with 1024 MB of RAM and on Lucid final.
@mzs114 I really have to do my best to get ubuntu to crash, most of the time only X crashes, which you can recover from the terminal (ctrl+alt+F1) by typing "sudo service gdm restart". I never encountered a full-crash of the whole OS.

@nieknooijens yeah, I'm now using Debian since 1 year(after using *buntu for 3 years).. which is yet to crash or fail.. :)
