all i can say is Outkast = diamond selling album need i saay more! they are one of the best to come into the game and do they thing and yet 3 stacks & big boi still doing it from time to time need i say more
@yaya31965 Dre 3000 and Big Boi is on another level. Many dudes now are doing what they are told to do. No freedom of speech in hip-hop right now. Wayne has such a tight grip on the airwaves, no one can get any. But the Kast will never fall off
@bartdogggy you honestly think Wayne has the grip? Everyone thinks that... no one can get any because they aren't taught anything else than the worst.
i do think its n.w.a (cuz he says "im in my whatever bumpin "nwa" a houndred miles and runnin) {that fact that people dicuss the meaning of his lyrics is dope by its self but this is my shit either way]
Crazy song. In my opinion Outkast is under rated. They are no doubt in my mind the greatest duo of hip-hip/rap of all time. Not group, but duo. Although as a group, they are one of the best of all time.
This man is correct. I've asked Dre what he what he was saying. Look at my name...I've spent many hours with these guys at the Stankoni studios in Atlanta off of Northside Dr. OutKast is the shit!
3 stacks' verse is pretty much one of the dopest in the history of hip hop----straight up--------i heard he's gotta solo joint in the works (and he's rappin on it to!---ha)
2pac, Common, Talib Kweli, Black Thought of the Roots, Biggie, Jay-Z, Pharoahe, Andre and Big Boi, Nas, to some extent Em, J-Live, Jedi Mind Tricks, and countless others had meaning and truth to their lyrics. But in my opinion, Pac is worse than everybody I just listed. Not knocking him, but when he was at his biggest, between 94-96, what else was on the radio? It's like Jay-Z putting out Reasonable doubt and starting his career right now- not fair
Back then everything was on the radio.the 90's was the most diverse time period in hip hop.you had Nine,Smooth da Hustler,South Circle,Scarface,Spice 1,Wu Tang,AZ,Redman, EPMD,Keith Murray,Outkast,Goodie Mob,Do or Die, Twista, The Alkaholiks, The Luniz,EightBall & MJG,The Dogg Pound,DJ Quik. You had to have skills to stand out back then.Pac is very much deserving of his accolades and fame if you think about it.I wish it was as diverse and trendsetting now as it was then.Truly good times ya know?!
I'm just happy someone remembers all that-I'm picking up what your laying down. Good times is an understatement-the 90's is the best decade in rap-and the late and mid 90's i was in heaven every time i went to the record store, pickings are getting thin out here man.....I guess I got old-damn.
I just read your comment on pac and I fully agree with you but when it comes to a list of greats he's somewhere up there on the list because his lyrics had meaning and truth to it.
And yes, 2pac IS overrated. I've heard all of his pre-death material. Sorry, but not that great. One great album ("Me Against The World"), and one mediocre double album, which like most double albums, had too many mediocre to sub-par songs. If trimmed down, maybe it would have been a lot better.
Wasn't going to, but here is my list in no order. Ya'll need an education on real hiphop. Pharoahe Monch Andre 3000 MF Doom GZA Biggie Nas Common Rakim Black Thought (new to my list, under appreciated) Guru Gift of Gab Beastie Boys I would put Immortal Technique up here, but I've only heard one of his albums. And quit putting Lupe up that high. He has hardly anything under his belt. Give him two more albums, and even then, maybe not.
the problem is big boi and dre are great when together. By themselves they are average at best. Dont get me wrong dre threw done some great gems on some remixes, but they create classics when together. word!

My List 1. Jay-z 2. Eminem 3. 3000 4. Nas 5. T.I. 6. Lil Wanye 7. Luda 8. Ice Cube 9. Pun 10 The Game The Reason I didnt add 2pac,biggie and Big L is that even in death there still in a league of there on real talk true story no still can't compare them niggas to anyone Period
my list 1. lupe 2. 3000 3. em 4. nas 5.ghostface 6. biggie 7. big pun 8. jay z 9. big boi 10.big l i jus like lupe cuz he raps about diferent shit but andre is a beast az well. fuck lil wayne he only raps about pussy money weed in every song.
@craghnah Ghostface shouldn't be in your top 5 if you really listen to the Wu. Gza, Raekwon, and Inspectah Deck are all lyrically greater. And that's only within the group, so I know for certain he shouldn't be in anyone's all-time top 10. But I know, we all have opinions.
ite most of your lists are wack .. 1. RAKIM 2. biggie 3. nas 4. 3000 5. em 6. meth 7. big l 8. pun 9. krs 10. jayz people sleepin on big l and em, wtf?
1. 2-Pac 2. B.I.G. 3. 3000 4. Nas 5. Shady 6. Jay-Z 7. Method Man 8. Redman 9. Big Pun 10. Jadakiss It's really a matter of taste, but as over-all skill goes thats the way I see it, Lupe' hasn't been around long enough for me to put him up there, and Wayne, I don't hate old boy, but I remember when he was a Hot Boy and he wasn't that good of a rapper, still trying to decide if someone ghost writes for that cat. IF THAT MC CAN'T FREESTYLE, HE AINT AN MC, TAKE HIM OF YOUR LIST-
yall niggas sick out yall damn head. you think luda is wack? everybody has their list of whose better than who, but it all boils down to a matter of opinion and what each individual likes or where they're from
lol yeah i know right...but you CANNNOT put lil wayne in front of andree 300....and yeah they prob dont get all luda's lines ppl who arent that educated have to listen to simple rappers that put theirs mataphors right in front of you instead of making you use your mind
i agree. i wouldn't put wayne in frontof luda either, but i still like wayne. that new wayne stuff is suspect, i can't do all of it. can't put wayne in front of andre either
I agree to fucking disagree!!!! Lemme guess.. you like Lil Boosie? Solja Boy? Birdman? Rocko and them type dudes? lol... Then in that case Cass and Luda are wack!!!!!
I'm confused, you say "i don't give 2 fucks what anybody say", then you say "gimme ur feedback people". But anyway, I can't make a numbered list, but If I had to, it would include andre 3k, Lupe Fiasco, Immortal Technique, Del[a personal favorite, I would understand if you hated him], and others I don't feel like listing anymore. But I strongly disagree z/ Ludacris being in the top 5 greatest rappers.
Kweli? GZA? Immortal Technique?Common? Mos Def? Phonte?(One of my personal favorites from little brother)I've tried to make a numbered list, but I can't. I agree with your list excluding luda.
omg this song is sooooooooooo sik like did u here what big boy said he said takin shot to ur mouth now were afiliates so dont give me that gansta grill no drama dont make no sence i got a mean back hand and a cannon that wont miss

outkast is the greatest of all-time because they have always pave their own lane and even a tribe called quest gave them props because those two groups are very similar but outkast is greatest because they just great
He is saying he never owned a Jacob. Referring to Jacob the Jeweler who makes lots of watches and jewelry for hip hop artists. I think what Andre isn't saying that he is never on time. I think he is trying to say he doesn't need a watch to know what time it is. Something similiar to that.
Everybody relates to people like them, ex: South vs North Outkast Goodymob are the best to me b/c Im from Atlanta and they make music that relates to everybody's struggle
there are tons of great creative rappers out there and i think a movement is starting in regards to higher quality artists. they just need to be promoted
check out da labratz i got some songs on my page...they got a classic real talk check it out and ya boy asheru...and even nappy rooots be puttin out good muzic but check out my page telll me what u think about em
Dre has never lost it if you ask me. Him Lupe, Common and at times Kayne are keeping it alive for those who have something real and genuine to say. I just hope Mos Def can come back hard like how he did on "Black on Both Sides". Classick!
i agree with you that 4 of those mc's are great, especially andre, mos, and common. but kanye is a subpar mc. always has been. he has appeal but i think thats it. he's a better producer. black on both sides was too good. i dont think mos could reach the bar he set for himself on black on both sides. he's still dope as hell but he, even cant touch himself on his first album, or on the blackstar album.
rap started dyin in 2000... all that was, began to be sumthin else, everyone switched what they was doin, they style, everything... then it jus died since... sadfully there aint no place in tha whacc game today for real lyricists... "fucc tha radio"-Raekwon
Dis group is da best n dont come to me wit all thest rappers tryna show yourself off. U know wat...I wish ya would say sumthin...I'll be waitin 4 a comment
DMX is Hecka poetic, it's hard to notice a lot of times cause he does lot of cursing and talking about killing people and initially you think every wannabe rapper and his uncle does that, but listening to the lyrics is crazy like the figurative language he uses is fantastic at times his word choices are almost funny especially how outrageous the claimes are, but it's eloquent too. One of the songs that really got me was "the Professional". "Damien" is a great song too and has a deeper theme.
ha no mean to talk shit. but in north america we call a raper a criminal. its all good though. you're english might might not be the best being from germany. that was funny though. if you spoke fluent english you would know what im saying.
Truthfully. I been a fan of them since Southernplayalistik days, and through time the started getting dry on me, but it's recently that they have went back to the roots. Don't get me wrong Love Below is a great CD, but I ALWAYS loved when Andre 300 and Big Boi spit on some astronomical shit. Long story short, I am truly glad they bringin back Hip Hop and showin these Lil Waynes. Mims, and Jeezy's who was the orignal
man i wish a nigga would say hip hop is dead, cause check this out, i dont got millions, bout time we heard some gully shit out these artists mouth, outkast always comin with that firey truth... much love to them boyz from the A
IT DONT MAKE NO GODDAMN SENSE WHY DIS NIGGA AINT THE WORLD PROCLAIMED BEST RAPPER EVER (NEXT 2 PAC cause pac was doin this shit b4 him). HE DON EVEN SAY HE THE BEST BUT HE KNOW AINT NO DAMN BODY FUKIN WIT HIM. THE SAME COULD BE SAID FOR BIG BOI.
all i can say is Outkast = diamond selling album need i saay more! they are one of the best to come into the game and do they thing and yet 3 stacks & big boi still doing it from time to time need i say more

JESSEXICA333 3 years ago
i've been listening to every single outkast song since they started and they NEVER disapoint me...
if you honestly don't think they are the best hip hop group ever (maybe tied with public enemy and run dmc) then you are serverly ill

Dre has never lost it if you ask me. Him Lupe, Common and at times Kayne are keeping it alive for those who have something real and genuine to say. I just hope Mos Def can come back hard like how he did on "Black on Both Sides". Classick!
OhHellNa2 3 years ago
i agree with you that 4 of those mc's are great, especially andre, mos, and common. but kanye is a subpar mc. always has been. he has appeal but i think thats it. he's a better producer. black on both sides was too good. i dont think mos could reach the bar he set for himself on black on both sides. he's still dope as hell but he, even cant touch himself on his first album, or on the blackstar album.

OMG go listen to slipin deep shit man Dark Man is a poet like so few inthe rap game are
sephiroth112787 4 years ago
DMX is Hecka poetic, it's hard to notice a lot of times cause he does lot of cursing and talking about killing people and initially you think every wannabe rapper and his uncle does that, but listening to the lyrics is crazy like the figurative language he uses is fantastic at times his word choices are almost funny especially how outrageous the claimes are, but it's eloquent too. One of the songs that really got me was "the Professional". "Damien" is a great song too and has a deeper theme.
