Virtually everyone has seen the two-part interview where Lisa Marie Presley told Oprah Winfrey that she was "snowed" into marrying Michael Jackson and she claimed Michael's manner was "very manipulative." When Oprah asked if Michael used her, Presley replied: "All signs point to 'yes' on that."
Never mind the fact that Presley "relentlessly pursued" Michael for years, and that he never told her that he was in love with her. The most she could ever say was that he loved her as much as he could, which was about as much as he loved a pitbull. After Debbie Rowe proposed her solution, what did LMP have to offer Michael? Nothing!
Once she realized that Michael was not in love with her and he walked out on her to force the divorce upon her so that he could accept DR's offer to have children for him, LMP should have left Michael alone. Michael certainly would not have wanted someone like her around his children. LMPs behavior has been not only crude and obnoxious, it is downright obsessive and scary.
Personally, I am not interested in how LMP felt or feels, either. I am here because of Michael, and for no other reason. In a statement, he said, “Michael Jackson wishes Lisa Marie all the best in the world. However, as to a comment on anything to do with their marriage, as a gentleman Michael prefers not to respond.” After Michael repeatedly refused her advances and offers (she never denied following him around the world), in1999 she began giving interviews to anyone who would listen and dissing him.

I think that Lisa and Michael did have something. It came to an end like any other relationship. Lisa was an an emoitional roller coaster for a long, long time after Michael-you can see it in all of her interviews. She's growing but not quite there. She listens to others too much I think. She was in love w/ Michael. I suspect that after they split she wondered if he ever really loved her. He did Lisa. Don't question it. It just ran it's course. That's life. Nothing is forever.

Nevertheless, her claims that Michael manipulated her into thinking that he cared about her are apparently far from true and a complete refusal on her part to accept responsibility for her actions.

@MissSerendipity11 Although it is unclear whose idea the PR marriage was, there is absolutely no doubt that the marriage was, at least on Michael's part, made for convenience and born out of a desperate attempt to minimize the damage to Michael's career that Chandler's false accusations caused. When it came to romance and love, LMP simply didn't have the right qualifications to be Michael's kind of woman--so it was no surprise that she was largely ignored and usually left with the furniture.

For me she wasnt a bitch. she was just deeply in love with Michael she couldnt stand that they broke up and it is the reason why she was so mean in the interviews about michael. He was love of her life, and she was unhappy, she wasnt a bitch , just heartbroken, because she knew that she coldnt come back to him. She felt betrayed, that's why i understand her in some way. However, in the tapes, Michael definitely did say that LMP pursued him after the divorce. He said that she was always calling him, writing him letters offering to have 9 babies for him, and hanging around his mother (trying to get her help). LMP dogged Michael all over the earth and behaved like a crazy woman for years. Reality!

Michael was never in love with LMP, but he apparently did believe that she wanted to help him--at first. (It appears Michael also believed Debbie Rowe--at first--when she claimed she wanted to help him.) During the last ten years of his life, they were not even on speaking terms.

@celtTheBlackRose In that NAACP speech Michael pointed out that many of Elvis's hits were written by Otis Blackwell, a black man who died penniless. The reason why Blackwell died in poverty was nobody wanted to talk about who actually wrote those songs. Michael said, go to the library or bookstore and you won't find his name anywhere. That's because "They don't want to talk about that." They don't want to talk about anything that doesn't make them look good.

@celtTheBlackRose Another typical attempt to hide the truth. Actually, Michael said that he closed his heart to LMP after the divorce, but she was always contacting him. Now, Michael did believe in spreading love and harmony, but he was smart enough to know that is not what happens when you tell lies, distort reality, or hide the truth.

Michael maintained his love of all people, and didnt close his heart even tho that is what a person wants 2 do when their heart has been crushed repeatedly & they are constantly under fire. its that perseverance that means something 2 all of us with crushed hearts lookin for hope, for an example of persistence.

@Roxxagirl In the tapes Michael made, he said he did not want to live if he could not be around children. He said the only time he felt safe or loved was when he was with children and that he wanted to be buried near children. Michael's relationship with his father, his relationship with children, and his relationship with fans were central to his feelings. In general, Michael did not trust women--especially wives--because he felt they were dishonest. It looks like Michael was right.

@Roxxagirl LMP said they argued constantly during the marriage. To get the divorce, Michael walked out on LMP a little more than a year and a half after they married. In the tapes he made it clear that he was not interested in her after the divorce. Michael said the love-story rumors were untrue. He said she chased after him after the divorce. In 2003, in response to LMP's RS interview, Michael had a press release issued in which he wished LMP well then distanced himself from her.

LMP claimed that Michael mislead her into thinking that he cared about her and confessed that she felt (and acted) crazy for two years after the divorce.

As a result of LMP's interviews, it has been common knowledge for years that the marriage was miserable. If they were not going to be in front of cameras or in public, Michael didn't want to be around LMP for long.

@celiaplanet LMP was also bitter when she said those things. Fast forward to 2010 on Oprah's interview with her and she said she did believe MJ loved her, as much as he was capable of loving anyone. MJ wouldn't use her or anyone, if anything he did her a favor!! They were both in love and she said when it was good it was "great" and when it was bad it was really bad. She was pregnant before she and her first husband married, and she was still married and had just had another baby when she started chasing after Michael. LMP later claimed Michael was "a very manipulative person" who led her to believe he cared about her.

That interview she and buddy Oprah did in 2010 was nothing more than a PR attempt to discredit Michael and everything he said in those tapes. LMP whole point was "Michael was as high as a kite," did not know what he was saying, and should not be taken seriously.

The truth is love had absolutely nothing to do with why he married. In terms of the women Michael really cared about, LMP wasn't even anywhere near the top of his list.

In an attempt to stop the overwhelmingly negative media coverage from further damaging his career, at 35, Michael married within months after Chandler's false accusations went public. The marriage, which did not produce any children and consequently did not dispel the gay rumors, was dismissed as an attempt to influence the media.

To my knowledge, there is just no valid reason to question what LMP said about her feelings. She said that she loved him, at first (until she realized that he wasn't in love with her). But, frankly, it was presumptuous of her to think that Michael had fallen in love with her. After all, she pursued him. "If I asked you to marry me, would you do it" is hardly a profession of love. No one was surprised when she began to talk about the marriage and how miserable it was.

Clearly, she knew the rumors and the legal situation he was in at the time. Realistically, she was not what anyone like him would have consider to be a good catch. LMP was not pretty or personable or classy, she had absolutely no style or accomplishments, she had only a 10th grade education, he did't need her money, and she already had two children from her current marriage. After Debbie Rowe proposed her solution, what did LMP have to offer Michael? Nothing!

Once she realized that Michael was not in love with her and he walked out on her to force the divorce upon her so that he could accept DR's offer to have children for him, LMP should have left Michael alone. Michael certainly would not have wanted someone like her around his children. LMPs behavior has been not only crude and obnoxious, it is downright obsessive and scary.

Michael clearly did not want that, and he publicly said so. When it is over, IT IS OVER! People who cannot accept that have psychiatric issues and need professional help. Michael had class, LMP doesn't. In 2003, this is how Michael responded to LMP's Rolling Stone magazine interview. In a statement, he said, “Michael Jackson wishes Lisa Marie all the best in the world. However, as to a comment on anything to do with their marriage, as a gentleman Michael prefers not to respond.” After Michael repeatedly refused her advances and offers (she never denied following him around the world), in1999 she began giving interviews to anyone who would listen and dissing him.

Up until the time he died, she did so many interviews in which she talks about Michael that I've lost count. You can find them through Google, but brace yourself. Anything she can throw at him, she does. Over the years, most of Michael's fans have seen those scorching interviews, so they are not deceived by LMP or her dishonest, myth-making fans on YouTube. But even LMP knew that Michael was never in love with her. After he forced the divorce on her, he certainly didn't want her back.

Once it became apparent that the marriage was not helping his public image and Debbie offered to have children for him, it was basically over for Lisa Marie. She said that after she realized why he had married her she told him that she wasn't going to get pregnant because she wasn't even going to sleep with him. (You can Google what she says about that argument.) She says that Mike told her, point blank, that Debbie had made him and offer, and if that was the way things were, he would accept it.

Prince Charles was never in love with Diana and Michael Jackson was never in love with Lisa Marie. Both men married their first wives for similar reasons. They hoped marrying these women would improve their public image.
In the Prince of Wales' case, it did--until Diana and the world discovered the sad truth. In the King of Pop's case, it didn't. That, combined with the fact that once LM realized the truth she wouldn't sleep with him, was the real reason for the divorce.
