  • We have 8th graders who are playing this song.... i can't hear the snare and the camera keeps shaking... tempo slow and progreesively got slower and base off tune. Other than that it was good! Keep practiving!

  • excellent performance

  • i love this song our junior band is doing this sond and i hope we can at least compare well to this. and i actually think that they are great for a second band. better then our senior band. and not trying to be mean or nothing but our senior band is horribal lol XD

  • Ok so I play Clarinet. I'm in Junior High Band. We are practing this piece for our Spring Concert. And this is a High School Piece! It's easy. Plus most high schoolers can't play this piece.

  • Our director is making us play this for our concert and also might male us take it the district music festival. The key change at L is what gets me the most. I play the trumpet on 1st and solo. Your horn player sounds great. I wish our (one) sounded like that.

  • My school's gonna play this song for our next concert. We all love it. It's a pretty piece, but I personally don't really enjoy everything after D because I prefer slow and melodic pieces. That's just my preference. You guys did pretty well, I think. Few mistakes, but still well done overall.

  • You guys were rushing the beginning parts, and the presto was too slow, not to mention a lot of missed notes after the key change. My 8th grade band is playing this piece and, I gotta say, we can play it much better than this... :\

  • What was with the clarinets playing the wrong notes during the soli? This is a concert!!!!

Are you the piccolo player? If so were you able to go all the way up to a high C? It sounds like you...or a flute player(s) were.

  • This was our first concert on this piece, and this is by far not the best players in the system.

And yes, i was the piccolo player, and yes, i did go up to the C.

  • our school band played it also, our version is much faster, just a little bit slower than the original one.

  • I played this at Frist Band at Junior Dixie Band Camp and thought it sounded better... but maybe its just the sound quality.

  • @ImJoeNemesis I was in First Band too! I played flute

  • @ImJoeNemesis hey i have friends who went to that too! :D and they played that song and then they ended up playing it in band for the whole year this year :D

  • pretty good after only two weeks of practicing it.....my high school is going to be playing this at a concert next week, along with La Virgen de Macarena, and Prarie Dance with Allen Vizzutti, anyone in the tri-state area who is a vizzutti fan, feel free to come. We've been practicing Declaration Overture since October, so we're really good at it!

  • I agree with Coasterfreak, Im Also from Iselin Middle School, We'd Play faster than that and i'm second seat saxaphone

  • Were doing this piecefor our spring concert at Roxbury High School with Allen vizzutti and it's just too slow around four after D. Also, they should have made the subido piano much more dramatic.

  • @gulf918 Roxbury High School Rules!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gulf918 Roxbury High School Rules!!!!!! :D

  • @gulf918 Roxbury High School Rules!!

  • our band, the iselin middle school wind ensemble, in iselin, nj... were playing this for our concert, and we're taking the e part at 168 tempo, much faster. it says presto, and you guys went really slow....and were a middle school band. im gonna upload a video soon, becuase our concert in in may....

  • Prestos so fukin slow!! wtf!

  • wow u guys need to work on that a bit like the presto and from measure 157-175

  • XD!!

Its called "Presto" for a reason!!!

  • WOW! this sucked! umm wrong notes... way too slow...... wow..... suckish..... my class plays this WAYYYYY better..... HHS!!! OH YEA!! Where Band is HUGE for us!!! gettin 1's every contest! NO JOKE! :D

  • @SSAANNDDOONNN no one cares about your stupid band

  • This is supposed to be in cut time. This is too slow

  • its common time not cut time..btw im conducting this peice as student conductere in band...im 13 suck that...

  • Well............... Your Trombones were good

  • That was not very good.. rushing.. wrong notes.... some where in the middle the trumpet cam in early.. our 8th grade class in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma is better than these people..

  • @Orion319363 perra

  • @Orion319363 no one cares about your stupid band at oklahoma

And so what if they made a few mistakes here and there at least they had fun

  • @Orion319363

Wow, Our band at our school can play better then this, and actually my band is full of twelve year olds...

  • hehe were playing this is my middle school wind ensemble-im in seventh grade and we're pretty good

  • eww

  • We're playing this in our band!

  • @mdeutsch4994

    so is my highschool band!

  • This song is horrendous. The Trumpet section is very weak, especially at the beginning. Theres a lot of rushing, especially before the presto. Speaking of presto, presto = FAST. That doesn't mean around 108bpm. More like 180-220. This is, frankly, a terrible manifestation of Declaration Overture. Sorry.

  • It's to slow!

  • NOOO the cue is not a f sharp!! its a natural other than that its beautiful!

  • Ah man me and one my friends were trying to figure out what three songs we played last year. This was one, the other was Belle of Chicago, and the last one started with light. I think this is the one we were trying to think of since he said it started slow and got faster.

  • easiest song ever! I played this last year! and the sad thingis im a freshmen!

  • me 2

  • Cool!

  • should be at least 25 bpm faster

  • YEAH! Bring out the trombones! I'm playing this in the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra and it sounds SOOOOOOO awesome with strings. but we NEED more brass. One tuba, one trombone (me), two french horns, and one trumpet.

  • I play baritone in this song. Yall took it a little slow and yall need to bring out trombone and baritone in this. other than that great.

  • from the bars that are in 2/4 timing should be played much faster. it says presto. he he. lol wut. i never say that.

  • Lol im playing this at my high school. we listened to a recording, and the part at presto is insane. i love it lol

  • yer i played the triangle and i was awesome................... sort of. ^^ hehehehe good times they were

  • Haha all our percussionists are good, but apparently they all like the drums and stuff so much, they forgot how to play triangle. lol

  • bwa ha ha our seniors good at percussion, they're all pro at the triangle. and i'm like when i watch them playing i'm like craaaaaaaaaaap. they play so much better than i.

  • lol i play the cello. how hard is the triangle?lol is it an underrated instrument?

  • no it's not hard, they just play it WAAYYY better somehow.

  • lol. im not good with wind and percussion. i seem to have a thing for string instruments. haha

  • well, i was gonna play the bass clarinet, then they put me on flute, and i sucked balls at that, and then they're like "since you can't play anything else you can go on percussion" and that seemed to work out okay :D

  • Haha wow. They basically told you you suck so go hit some stuff? Haha. Dont worry. I made a comment to my director and he asked me if I enjoyed riding the short bus. Haha

  • yer that's what they did... in a nutshell... aww poor you :D well it depends... did you?

  • sorry its been while and i hatethe youtube comment system. what were we talking about?lol

  • idk :D

  • lol okay

  • well anyways, yer. we playing better songs now. i guess... and i got promoted to timpani :D:D

  • nice. my friend loves the timpani. haha. like i said im only good with strings. of course, i havent tried much else. i cant play trumpet tho

  • oh well. whatever... there are some people who can't blow on instruments without gettin headache... that would be me.... wbu?

  • asthmatic =P

  • heeeheeeee. there there, i know how it feels. used to be asthmatic.

  • doesnt bother that much. although thats why i cant play football. lol

  • Hello dude we are playing this peice at our school in White Station Middle School in Memphis im in symphonic the top band and i play trumpet

  • Oh we're playing this song at band camp and our concert is this weekend. no offense but you guys played really slow. sounds like about 100. We're playing at 150.

  • i just like how the camera turns sideways near the end and its still trying to capture the playing XD

  • Ha. mostly its cause my mom wanted to zoom in on me. lol. sorry.

  • ew...I dont get the marching band uniforms.

    you took this too slow.

  • omgg :]] i play picc on this song too!! :DD

  • i play triangle on this song :)

    haha

  • omg i luv this song were playing it in band

    im a clarinet!!!

    and were in middle school!

  • You guys did very well for going slow.

As Mosgoose had said that your playing did suffer from the lack of speed. It sounded a little moshy. But I could still clearly understand every part of the song. In the advanced band at my school I am the only baritone, and we play this at about 150 - 160. I and I could tell in the second part the the trumpets were trying to rush the song. But I commend you guys for playing this song with only two weeks to work on it.

I enjoyed listening to it :)

  • I find it really funny how you all wear your Marching Uniforms (?) as concert dress. I'm a trumpet at Juilliard, and I remember playing this in my high school band.

You guys did go slower than recommended, and that made your playing suffer.

Not bad on the first trumpet solo, louder and clearer would have been nice. It's a rockin solo, as I remember.

Overall, not bad for a high school band.

  • we are a quite poor high school. and we cannot afford concert uniforms. as we live in texas and every dime on football. and we are slowly getting this up to tempo. its a little harder for some of our bands players, because we are the second band, so our playing isn't as good as our honor band. and the trumpet soloist hadn't been decided at this point, heince the clarity problems. and they were all trying not to attack the rest of the band. but i do apreciate the compliment. =]
  • well not in every texas high school , i lived in katy texas and it always depends where you live , i mean when my high school opened in 1999 i was the freshman class for that year and we had evrything brand new we had the band tuxedos and the band drese and i mena we also had a great football program but like i said it depends on where you live in texas

  • I totally agree, this is supposed to be a love song like tune, and with it going so slow it sounded a bit dreary. It sounds like you took it about 85-90, and we took it at about 130-140 and it sounded a lot more showy and fun. But for only working on it for two weeks it sounded pretty good :D

    Kudos.

  • Oh god. This is super slow.

  • i fukin rock at the solo:)

  • kk our band is playing this and district contest.

At A i could barley hear the trumpets let alone 1st trumpet (i play first part)

before the presto was way to fast and when yall hit the presto it got slower

after that i could not watch it anymore becuase i dont want the mess up my playing... i soak up music.

i still gave yall 3 stars for effort

  • i rated you a 5/5 however, you didnt do so well on the second half of the song after the dramatic tempo change.

  • Well,

this was only us working on this song for about two weeks.
