The term transgender dates from the 1980s. Its coinage is usually attributed to Virginia Prince, the Southern Californian advocate for heterosexual male transvestites, who in the 1960s wrote such pioneering self-help books as The Transvestite and His Wife and How To Be a Woman though Male. The term took on a different set of meanings later to include clowns and circus act's parading around in pink too too's. Just to confuse the general public perhaps!!

Hey, I do want to help, I'll send you an email, but this sounds alot like TransAmerica the web forum created by TristanSkye on Ning for Transgendered people to interact and communicate and be a safehaven for transpeople. Maybe you should try getting ahold of him to see how he manages his for some advice or something... just a thought for you.

it's kinda like that but the difference is it's something we are building so we can continue to build upon it, and there are also many other aspects to this project than just the website, the site is just the start of it all... thanks for sure
