For those asking How to get the recorded mix on a cd just drag the recorded mix to iTunes and burn the cd from there it's that simple just as if you were to burn a regular song from the iTunes.
@808rem1x You end with a WAV or AIFF file depending on if you are using a PC or MAC. You will need software to burn that, again depending on the OS you are using.
@djmixerman1 Yes, pretty much anything you're pushing out live can be recorded in a stereo master mix. Key thing is making sure the AUX IN is receiving the main signal either in a record out or booth out.
I'm just waiting for SL4 or something cuz I thought SL3 looks different but seems to look very alike. You can record STEREO from Sl1 using software Audacity + Bheringer 202. Plug a rca to rca from "record" in your mixer then into Bheringer then to usb at computer. From there record from audacity. The benefits of doing this is that you can edit your mixes and save them as wav. or mp3 with tags
im waiting for either 3.0 software or serato to come out with a record feature were u can track while your recording your set at the same time. its to time consuming to listen to the whole set again just to track a mix set. i know they have software out there but there so over kill with all types of feature when all u want to do is track your cd set. so for now i have to stick with tascam hard ware for gigs until u guys figure out howto record while tracking at the same time.
@soulfulcommandoe8 Yes, basically. The SL3 accepts RCA inputs (AUX IN) from any output on your mixer. You can adjust the recording levels in the software, press a button to record your mix, press it again to stop the recording, and then put a title for the recording and hit the save button. Super simple.
@pace18t The ability to record has always existed either with SL1 or some kind of external software. SL3 just tidies the process up a little. For some people that is a nice feature. Like anything else, it's one of a handful of features that has made the SL3 an improvement over the first version.
lol the SL1 can record on its own, i just did it today. you use the mic input (1/2 inch input on the SL1 box to your mixer output RCA either booth or record using) it works exsactly like the SL3. why does everyone think you have to use another software it order to record with the SL1.
i have sL3 it is great but when u record u have to convert aiff file to mp3 to get it burned on a disk which takes up some time design one that record and burns on disk at the same time without all this converting stuff simplify recording on disk
its funny because i bought sl3 and for the fucking price i bought it for rane better make sure everything works on it correctly no1 wants to spend 700 on the sl3 to only have problems down the line im just saying im not saying anything bad about it
You're not 100% correct! I have a SL1 and I can record with the same Laptop I use to DJ, without the need of an extra laptop to record as you mention on the video.
Just google Audacity, it's a free software, install it on your laptop, and hook up your laptop with the REC out of your mixer. And thats it. I have a MACBOOK and this works perfect. Thanks for the vids anyway. Tiago (Portugal)
right now there is a problem recording...rane knows about it they are fixing it in the upcoming new version of the software... sometimes it works fine sometimes it will mess your recording up
Does sl3 have a features like the beatgrid? Tnxs...

You can do the same with SL1 through the mic input. Just recorded a mix yesterday infact.
Nothing to see here.

@EdwardDiego0 Right. But it's a mono recording.

love the record feature only problem it just one big file you cant track your recording
coolcleve18 1 year ago
@coolcleve18 Very true. With a piece of software like SONY's CD architect you can easily master multi-track CDs with no breaks between tracks.

Bpm tap thing sucks. Traktor scratch pro is great.
It'll allow you to record your mix in the same way. But it can do a lot more as well, including giving you 2 extra decks for samples.
I'm not a fanboy, Thumbs down me if you want. But its my opinion and nothing I've said is untrue.

The only way you get effects in SSL is when you use the TTM57SL: hardware
