  • If I could like this video 20 thousand times, I would.

  • @MsOkamaQueen Well, its a good thing I dont believe in the holy bible and that I have never particiated in eating lobster, planting different crops in the same field or giving somebody a proud look. I think you made a mistake, I support gay marriage as I am gay myself. Dont let my username fool you, I am athiest and made this user name sarcasticly. I dont understand why you replied such a hateful message to someone that clearly supports all gay rights.

  • you put julia gillard to SHAME!!!!!

(p.s. i never really liked her and neither did my parents)

  • soooo.......your like gay?

  • @katiemini674 "you're" 'like'? Why a synonym? "So, you're, like, gay?" (please forgive the correct spelling and punctuation). Are you an ignorant 13-year-old Californian girl? If not, I suggest that you learn how to speak English properly in addition to trivialising homosexuality.

  • you are "different" than everybody else go get help ! Stop being a deviants

Homosexuality is WRONG not normal not natural period men was made for women and

vice versa ...basic anatomy and physiology of human body

Are you nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!! never ever to the gay Marriage....Marriage is Holy Sacrament ONLY

for men and women . Stop fooling yourselves you are practising unlawfulness therefore

you are against the laws of God and the nature of nature. Can a man and another man have

    children ?

  • I cant help it but to laugh at every single ignorant bastard out there who think that being gay is a sin and therefore gays should not be granted the opportunity to get married. When life ends, we will see who was right and who was wrong. Clearly, you think I or most of the supporting folks are because you are practically blinded by a book called the Bible. But I am 99.9% Positive that this was something planted to society and is not the truth. You wont agree with me now but you will regret it :)

  • @AngeIord you know that your Holy Bible also states that eating lobster, planting different crops in the same field or giving somebody a proud look is also an abomination? what is more, isn't the first rule for Christians "Love thy neighbour as thyself"? Well, it seems you don't live up to that rule, so I think we'll see in hell then^^ Suck it, bitch :p

  • I thought the Australian Prime Minister would agree with this.Does she not?

When we see her here in the UK she looks so nice and grounded.

  • marriage is guy and girl couple right, just make your own thing and call it something else. People complain about shit these days

  • @17MrLeon why not give gays marriage and then give heterosexuals something else

  • I am a 16 year old bisexual. I have no religious views but I am very highly opinionated and I strongly agree with the concept of gay marriage being legalised. At this point in time, discrimination features as a huge part of society. Discrimination is not only a prehistoric concept it is an immature, sexist, and racist state of mind. Why should it be anyone else's business to decide whether a gay couple should be joined in the unity of marriage?

  • marriage is based on religion. religion is the main reason of gay discrimination. so why shall gays support or copy a institution, that even dosnt fit into the hetero relations anymore. every 2nd hetero marriage gets devorecd. i´d prefer civil pacts(union), that guarrantee same rights to everyone. no matter if gay or hetero or whatever.

  • @simantov666 marriage is not based on religion, since its not limited to only religious people

  • @idaman12345 in judaism, islam, christianity, hinduism it´s based on religion of course. genesis 2.24. in catholizism itz even a sacrament. to who it´s limited or not in modern society is a "different cup of tea". gay marriages back up this rotten conservative religious way of life. gays shouldnd copy the mistakes of the heteros. eaqual rights 4 everyone instead..

  • Sadly, where governments are influenced by church opinion there'll always be this conflict. In the UK parliament we have two Houses, the House of Commons & the House of Lords which contains senior clergymen who've been appointed to the H of L.Their influence is very strong. But,the uploader is spot-on,marriage between two people of the same gender WILL become legal,no matter how long it takes.Ms.Gillard seems to be bowing to pressure from Australia's religious zealots.Shame on her.

  • I so totally agree with everything you have said

  • you are gorgeous!

  • Please, accept Jesus and utilise the Holy Spirit to overcome your condition.

  • @bakmouth are you serious? we don't need your comments here. as he said: marriage equality will happen whether narrow minded individuals like yourself like it or not.

  • @ellymariie God created marriage and only ordains it between one man and one woman. Not two men or two women. Or one man and five women. Or a man and a dog.

In a lot of western democracies, gays have the right to enter into civil partnerships.

But are they happy with that? No. They insist on defiling the sanctity of marriage, just so they can enjoy the novelty of calling someone of the same sex their husband/wife.

    NO TO GAY MARRIAGE

  • @bakmouth God did not create marriage, government created a marriage license and regulates it as well as divorce. You are so wrong, your ignorance totally negates your statement, and renders it useless.

  • @bakmouth Fuck you man. If my two best guy friends want to get married, they should. They have more love for each other than most "proper couples" do. Their love is so pure and perfect, and you say that it goes against "marriage".

If you don't support gay rights to marriage, then why the hell are you watching this? It's obvious that this is a video TO SUPPORT IT, not for close minded, single opinion, ignoramuses.

The Christian faith preaches equality unconditionally, or so they say.

  • @BreakMyHeartBitch Love is not pure if it's goes against God's definition of love, which homosexual relations clearly do.

I watched this video because I oppose gay marriage and it is important to listen to the arguments put forward by the opposition, even people as dim as they man in this video. If gay marriage is 'inevitable', what's his problem?

  • @bakmouth god did not create anything, since god does not exist

YES TO GAY MARRIAGE, NO TO RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY

  • @bakmouth You need to remove the idea from your head that God created marriage. Has it occured to you that not everyone is religious? Civil Marriage is a government institution and religious institutions aren't oligated to perform same-sex unions. You can't deny two adults from marrying simply because they are not different genders. Don't you see how that it is blatant discrimination? Seriously!

  • @TheGirlygirl004 When people like you will be six feet under, world will be a better place.

Homophoby is a serious illness.Hugs from Vaticanistan, pardon,Italy

  • Marriage is a contract to protect a child from an ugly division of wealth and affection. If you are physically incapable of being a parent, I don't see why you would want the state, let alone a church,of any kind, sticking its fingers into your private affairs. Instead of waiting, just revolt; set a template for a marriage contract, spread it around, spread the word and start marrying yourselves. Invite your friends, hold a ceremony! Nobody can really stop you,and if they try, they will fail.

  • @TheGirlygirl004 oh thanks for that you slut whore

  • @TheGirlygirl004 Please take your hatred and ignorance elsewhere. And while you're at it, learn how to use proper grammar.

  • reading "A soldier die God laughs" and "Fags will burn in hell"

    You're right, it's time for a change.

People need to just stop being so uptight and downright childish about what two consenting adults do behind closed doors or even out in public.

I mean, a gay couple got kicked out of a restraunt just for sharing a small kiss and we have people childishly blaming Katrina on Ellen Degeneress being from New Orleans.

It's time for a change and people need to grow up.

  • I'm an American, but please don't hold that against me.

I've long considered myself to be a thinker about various things and have endeavored to try to understand the mindset behind the gaybashing I keep hearing about both in the news and depicted in movies and television (including a specific episode of the Sopranos) and think to myself, "What kind of world have we deevolved into to allow such hateful and violence to be cultivated?"

With the WBC and their funeral protestings and signs

  • I love you Tristan! :)

  • I totally agree!

  • Sérieux, viens en France mon chou !

  • nothing more to say than

    you are great

    <3

  • you lovely just earned my respect and support even i dont live in the country.

  • Comment removed

  • I am seeing so many Australian protests for same sex marriage rights. This is terrific. Beautiful speech by the way. I really don't understand why there are so many politicians opposing same sex. Even my family opposes it. Why can't anyone realise it's so stupid. How on earth is this classified as an issue? How cruel can one be to prevent genuine love. I really hope you break through. - Lots of love and best wishes from a straight Australian male :)

  • They have an atheistic female prime minister... Not fucking fair! The only president we could have that's female is an idiot and I'm pretty sure all of them are Christian... Maybe 1 or 2 aren't but I don't think any of them are atheists. Just because really this isn't a Christian country and it never was but some people are trying to make it be one and its wrong. Please someone save America, please!

  • Come on Australia, Canada has left you in the dirt. Bury your dead opinions and walk on.

  • Beautiful. Its so nice to have it put so simply. I hope this really does change the law. You have my support.

  • @broyomama you can marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, gays cant

    not equal

  • @idaman12345 Your statement is not true. There are plenty of women I could fall in love with that I cannot legally marry. My solution? I don't marry them!

  • Not gonna waste my time supporting gay marriage when I don't even know how to date. This is a waste of time trying to placate to people who are already in the minority to find someone to share their lives with. I don't need their Cinderella story rubbed in my face. Thank you.

  • @missiongroove Stop being a selfish asswipe might help with your dating problem.

    Cheers.

  • @brismike65 Surely a marriage means to marry and live with the person you love for the rest of your life. If love iand trust sn't enough to base a marriage on then the marriages of millions of people should be voided.

  • @lightandbeautiful Our agenda? All we want is the right to be married.

  • I'm a 16 year old white female and I am straight. I am a Christian but I totally agree with every word you said. Love is love regardless of gender, race, religion, etc. Nobody should be denied the opportunity to marry who they love. You are an amazing person and you deserve the very best. Love is the strongest force on earth and I hope that one day discrimination against loving couples will end.

  • @rggsoccer21 i wish more Christians were like you. You're like the iPhone5 of Christians, new and improved.

  • I am a 17 year old Native American who happens to be gay too. I live in the United States. We are supposed to be the "Land of the Free & Home of the Brave" and not every citizen is free and with gay rights (plus others) we're mostly not brave to accept it. Our government still is run by devout religious persons. I hope that Obama can change this issue. Its now 2012 and now I can vote this year. I will REFUSE to vote for anyone who doesn't support LGBT rights. I hope Ms Gillard (who I detest alr

  • Tristan, well spoke. Here in America we suffer the same discrimination, the same prejudice, the same ineqaulities. The resolutions to these problems are a bit complicated because of the balances of the three branches of Federal goverment, and the balance of power between Federal goverment and the states. Progress is slow here in the U.S. (only a handful of states have legalized marriage equality). We here wish you in Australia all the best, and are supporting and cheering you all on from afar!!!

  • @whitmanrocked Knowing how there are differing rules for reservations, i lived on a crow reservation for a while in the 60,s , do you have the right denied by the feds or is it a tribal thing. I know with all the indian casinos that have sprouted up in the last 15 years that they rule their territory in many ways is this one. I,m gay and live in new Jersey where unions onyl are legal. hope you have the right soon. Love Rocky

  • I came across this video here on Youtube. Thank you, really! Because the things you said concern even me; I am an italian 17 year-old gay guy and, personally, i was lucky because my parents and friends didn't make me feel wrong, they just accepted me as I am; but there are many other gay people out there, and some of them have, as you said, homophobia to deal with.

That's why have decided to speak to my school about marriage equality during a meeting, and I've used some of your words. Thank you.

  • Julia, get off your ass!

  • well said. hopefully australia will start a domino effect in the english-speaking world. i hope england will be quick to follow although somehow i don't think our government has the potential to be as open minded as yours. much love from england nonetheless. :)

  • @chrisdavidi thats true considering homosexuality was considered a crime aka buggery until the 1970s

  • 'Okay, bye.'

    <3

  • Hi, I am from the Netherlands. The first country that opened up marriage for gay and lesbian couples 10 years. I will send you a link in which the man who was the main force behind it explains the road towards. Maybe it can be of some help or have tips or inspiration for the people in australia who are fighting for it. Good luck. It will happen

  • @Rudie1409 p.s I send the link via twitter

  • Nice... it seems like Australia won't take long to get gay marriage with all the talk it's been getting lately.

  • Thank you very much for this video, I'm following the gay marriage situation in Australia and it's great to hear the point of view from someone actually living there... You may not have it yet, but I think that you will have marriage equality long before those of us living in the US do. Good luck!

  • The problem is that how many who push for marriage equality actually know what a marriage entails? Sadly statements such as 'gay marriage will stop aids" and "we will live longer with a partner and tons of kids' are pathetic, but that's the diatribe being spat out. We love each other - ummm you need more than that. The morality of many gays and lesbians in this debate is horrible; being told you have to get married, be monogamous and bring up kids as if that's the only way to be accepted. Stupid

  • @brismike65 wtf are you talking about? You know you are stupid when you group millions of people together in a ignorant stereotype.

  • @brianh406 yeah but not as stupid as someone who wastes their time abusing others on YouTube. The gay men I know are sluts and they do have kids, get real monogamy is out. Foolish person you are.

  • @brismike65 Awwww little baby feelin abused.....LMFAO! Grow up liitle girl.

  • Move to Norway we have legalized gay marriage<3

  • Read the Bible: Leviticus 20:13. I didn't write it. It is the word of God on the pages.

  • @FerallHog Thank you for educating us on God's Law. Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. I do need some advice from you regarding some of the specific laws and how to follow them. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. What do you think would be a fair price? Eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), but why? Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

  • Comment removed

  • @FerallHog Also, I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. Can you clarify which race I can own exactly?

  • @yvo84 great points!!! i look farward to seeing FerallHog's responce. i suspect he/she will evade your responce or try to spin words.

  • @FerallHog i suspect your loved ones or even you might be guilty of continuing to live a lifestyle that yvo84 listed. perhaps guilty of all. so should we put those loved ones of yours to death? perhaps your mother... or do you concede that its just that .. an interpretion of a version of a translation of a bible. who are you to state what the word of God is ? your interpretation ? 2 people read the same version and translationj of the same bible. who's interpretation is wrong.

  • Marriage Equality is the future of this world.

  • "ok bye". that just ruined the mood for me lol.

  • Time for the majority to become unsurped from their priviledged and smug position.

Oh, and as if Julia Gillard would care about disenfranchised youth. She has no empathy for anyone.

  • RIGHT ON BROTHER ;) Irony is that Julia Gillard is the biggest gay closet case ever. She's pathetic and will be voted out at the next election. Not because she's a homophobe, but because she has no respect for the populace that voted her in. Goodbye.

  • totally agree!!!

  • I'm A 14 Year Old Lesbian Who Had To Leave School Before Finishing Year 10 Because I Was Bullied Because Of My Sexuality.

I Think They Could've Changed This A Long Time Ago, If They Had've, I Would Still Be In School.

I'm Missing Out On A Job And Education... All I Can Say Is, Gee, Thanks Julia.

  • Very well done. I support your view.

  • inspiring video<3 I agree with every word

  • that feeling of how we say equality is possible and we still don't have gay marriage is so hypocritical, it's just the most strongest feeling of cognitive dissonance.

  • Gay marriage has been Legalized in New York :D They will legalize it in Australia too, I heard it will take a while though. They may not legalize it until 2014.

  • Why doesn't Julia go back to the kitchen...I thought she was into being traditional. What is she doing as the PM then.

  • <3

    you're so right, man.

  • You are an inspiration. You're not alone in the struggle. I'm in the US. I have an aunt who has been in a steady relationship with a wonderful woman for years, but the state doesn't acknowledge their relationship. Once upon a time(I really can only speak for the US) interracial couples were unacceptable, and over time people got used to it. I think this homophobia thing is similar. Someday, sooner rather than later, everything will work out. We have to keep standing up for what we believe in!

  • thank you for your voice-- much love friend

only a matter of time <3

  • I completely agree with this .... I am very proud and know fortunate to be Canadian where marriage is defined anywhere in the country as "the union of two adults, regardless of same or opposing gender". I can only imagine your frustration :( Keep up the fight, it will happen there too and one day this will be a distant memory!

  • Imagine being in the U.S. where a handful of states permit gay marriage while most do not. Can you imagine driving across the country...as you cross various state lines....now you're married / now you're not / wait! you're married again / now you're not. Ridiculous. Gay marriage WILL eventually happen and the conservatives have admitted as much. Still....they'll spend millions of dollars to fight a losing battle instead of using that money for medical research for feeding hungry people.

  • You have my support! I'm in the United States and it's just as depressing here.....your video brought me to tears. Silence = death, friends.

  • @SanguivorousRevenant Truly. This video is inspirational. I've made a video for Day of Silence in support of my brother and LGBTQ friends. The world needs to get a clue that until equality exists, nothing but turmoil will happen.

  • I can babble on and on about how much your words impacted me, hit my heart and sunk into my bones and shook my breath, but far more simply, I'd rather say that I love and adore you for your spirit and tenacity. You have my support. Keep going.

  • @SorceressZila wow.. What lovely words!

thank you so much for stopping by to watch, and leave such a nice comment.

    Have a wonderful day,

    TJ

  • Your an amazing human being. I'm old 49 to be exact, I never thought I'd ever live to see such a well spoken, clean cut, young man, with so much insight and thought on my sexuality also. I have been in a relationship for over 25 yrs to one man, we have never strayed in our relationship, and I see all these marriages ending in divorce, I even outlasted my own sisters marriage, yet they don't think we love. I will never understand that. Thanks so much Woolly

  • @WoollyTunes

    Woolly,

Thanks so much for watching and leaving this lovely and encouraging comment.

Marriage equality WILL happen, but not by itself. We need to FIGHT for what's RIGHT.

    Have a great day.

    Tristan.

  • @WoollyTunes

Oh, and they try to argue (refer to recent Compass episode aired on the ABC) that marriage is for the "protection of kids". If that is so, why is it still advocated for retirees? Why is it still advocated for childless partners?

  • @Anthagioo Yes, it's supposed to be 2011..

did u know that they even have marriage equality in South Africa since 2006!

    Lucky them

  • This is great.

Can we please make sure it gets to Julia? I think it's very important she sees it.

  • @DanielJamesLewis That would be great f she saw it, but i'm not going to hold my breath!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • @gayprideguy Thank you.

  • Is Australia divided into a bunch of states like the US? Or if gay marriage was to be legalized, would it be the whole country?

  • @PeeEsPee Yes, Australia is split up into states like America.. but i'm not sure if they parmiment stuff works the same..

I don't know weather legalization would be one simple, nationwide thing, or if each state would have to do it separately.. no idea sorry

  • Amazing message. I agree wholeheartedly x

  • @clarissa61190 Thanks a lot

  • Anyone should be able to marry anyone else...PERIOD. Love is love...nothing else matters. I just dont get why people just dont get it...makes me sad.

  • @dreamer72fem It sucks that in countries like mine and yours, which are supposed to be so "forward Thinking", that there is such blatant discrimination, and that it's LEGAL Discrimination by our governments.

One day, we will look back on these times and just shake our heads

  • your eyes look good! thats the only thing thats stand out

  • @Rickyiscul oh.. maybe i should have worn sunglasses then? this video is about something very important, i don't like the thought of my eyes being the center of attention

  • You look good in this video! Very well spoken message, and I hope that one day the world can understand.

  • @tabloidjunk I don't truly understand the problem but I do see your point of view my cuzen and roommate there gay n I've grew comfortable wit the fact that homosexuality is normal and a part of that persons life and we have no right to tell him/her that what they feel or do wit there partner is wrong....thats all I have to say ok bye! Lol

  • Hey come to Brasil!! Last week the government approved a law that legalizes gay marriage, you can even stay at my place LOL

    Kisses

  • @leoyafi Yes, i was very happy to read that exciting news. Congratulations

  • Your prime minister probably hates men so much she don't want them having relationships with other men.

  • @fantasypills Its that kind of thinking that people end up killing themselves over. The bible was written ~2000 years ago, I don't really know of any science or philosophy that we consider that relevant today, so why is it that religious people refer to these outdated books for their ideology? I'm not judging you personally since you seem to be able to formulate your own opinions instead of following the herd. Kudos to you.

  • I agree with you 100%, but it's just not up to our lovely Prime Minister to say 'Go' to gay marriage and it's done. There are about a million procedures they have to go through and even then there is going to be disagreement within communities, parties ie Labour and Liberal (Tony Abbott is strict Christian old fashioned dickhead)

  • @MINMfreak72 Yes, i know it's not Gillards decision, but she has publicly, and repeatedly declared that she is NOT in support of marriage equality, and that's a problem.

  • @TabloidJunk Ohh that bitch... Did she decline it...? Ohhh, sadd.

  • I'm a straight man and an American so I can't really put myself in your shoes as much as I'd like. It's 2011, the world needs to get with it, there always has been and always will be homosexual people, instead of persecuting and looking down on others perhaps religious people should practice what the preach and promote tolerance. Marriage is not just between a man and a woman its between two people regardless of gender, sex or age who love each other. The discrimination needs to stop.

  • @ARunawayTrain Thanks so much for watching and your lovely comment...

You're right - this "Legal Discrimination" needs to STOP!

  • As your first down vote, I do agree, I just don't like the way you didnt talk like a sterotypical homosexual, made me confused if you were gay or not.

  • @ReDucT0r Troll...

  • @ReDucT0r sorry dear, what??....

    obvious troll is indeed, obvious!

  • I'm religious. But I completely agree with you. Separation Church and State! The fact this issue hasn't been dealt with already is quite embarrassing.

    I support you TJ

  • @DaytimeOperator Yes, it is embarrassing for our country.. - They've even have marriage equality in South Africa for 5 years. SOUTH AFRICA for fuck sake!

Australia is nowhere near as 'forward thinking' and accepting as it claims to be.

  • Equality everywhere.....FOR EVERYONE!

  • @Myregularasslife it's a nice thought isn't it.

too bad we are a LONG way from there

  • @TabloidJunk *sigh* ....its so sad too. Idk if you saw the video i did about a transgender woman getting beat up to the point of her having a seizure in a mcdonalds (in my state), but i just find it crazy that in 2011 ppl are still so close minded. Its such a shame. I would have never thought ausi's were having issues with this kind of stuff too...idk why but i just always saw it as the ideal place lol kinda like london n stuff. Its just so sad...anywho i love you and your vids <3

  • Well said hunni! It's absolutely ridiculous that your sex determines who you can marry. We love who we love .. it's not a decision for anyone else to make! xx

  • @karmagirl74 You're right.. Love is love.

    "Legal Discrimination" is NOT cool

  • I feel like flying over to Australia and slapping that bitch Julia Gillard. Among other politician's that are hard-headed and closed-minded.

People need to realize Gay people are here and here to stay, and we're not going to just disappear off the face of the planet and simply just get over it and co-exist.

All I can say is Karma is a bitch, and if you're a homophobe watch it, you'll probably end up having a gay son or lesbian daughter or niece or nephew whichever the case remember Uasked4it.

  • @hollywoodcrunk Thanks for watching and leaving that great comment.

Marriage Equality WILL happen.. but not by itself.. we need to fight for what's right.

  • Keep saying it, TJ. We have to be a voice. I am fighting the fight here in my little community in the States. You have my support and respect.

  • @gcarped Thanks so much.

good luck in your FIGHT for what's RIGHT!

    L.O.V.E.

    TJ

  • Very well said. I feel like this could really spark some action.

  • @ashleigh0721 well i'm not sure about that, but if we all have our say, the noise will eventually get too loud to ignore

  • I'm so proud of you TJ.

  • Great video! Well said!

  • Honestly this may come off the wrong way. But I feel luckey for living in Britain because as far as i know we have equal rights.

And it angers me that Because of these bible thumping dickheads, they have put a law on love witch is basicly what it's boiled down to. They Put a law on loving your partner in life. and to me thats just horrific. and it's frustrating that i feel so powerless to help other countries / Nations with their struggle just like in prop 8 in the USA all i could do was follow.

  • Just wondering, Isnt marriage a religious ceremony?

  • @fantasypills Marriage is a legally binding arrangement that affects a diverse range of issues including joint property ownership, last will & testaments, support payments, and legal authority to be recognised as the next of kin.

  • @Gnorris73 Hmm thats weird, I thought homosexual couples already had those rights. Good to know.

  • @fantasypills i know plenty of non-religious heterosexual people that are married.

  • Comment removed

  • @TabloidJunk Thats true. I tend to agree with you.

However, I was in bible class the other day (this is compulsory for some reason) and the teacher was reading a passage where God said something along the lines of "marriage is between a man and a woman", so the teacher explained this was why homosexuals could not be married.

I'm so confused. On one hand I'm told that homosexuality is a sin (teachers, friends, family), and on the other hand I don't really see anything wrong with it.

  • @fantasypills You should be specific with which bible you're reading - It isn't actually the New Testament (Christian one) that says much about homosexual marriage.... It is the Old Testament (Jew one). It's funny (not really) because everyone seems to think Christians are the one's behind it all when the Old Testament is the "eye for an eye" and that marriage is between and a woman and a man, only. It's filled with "thou shalt not's" about so many things, including homosexuality.

  • @TabloidJunk Yep, heaps of people choose non-religious marriages. I had a civil ceremony, as did my parents and my grandparents. Marriage is basically a contract between two people. I totally get what you're saying about separation of church and state.

  • @fantasypills marriage is not a religious ceremony, its a cultural thing. American marriage mostly is a event held in a church with people being married by a priest. But if u go online, and take the test, u can marry people and not be a priest or have any religious beliefs. Other people marriage is a sign of growth, and has nothing to do with religion at all.

  • I loved this. Consider moving to Canada, although no one should have to leave their own country to be able to get married.

  • such a strong and important message!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pashabigboy It really is. unfortunately too many people do and say nothing. - We ALL have a voice.. and i'm using mine to do my part.

Marriage Equality WILL happen, but not by itself.. we all need to fight for what's right.

  • Excellent video. I wish there were more of these videos out there. I believe that gays and lesbians should have the right to marry. Who in the hell should have the ability to save whom people can love and legally be with

  • @moviewhizgurl Thank you. Eventually, Marriage Equality WILL happen because it's such a basic and obvious equal right.. but it won't happen by itself.. we need to fight for what's right.

  • Totally agree with you. I found it bizarre that it took until 2009 for same sex couples to be recognized as being in a marriage-like relationship by Centrelink. But when it did I assumed the right to marry would follow. As it is, gay couples have the same financial responsibility as straight couples but are denied the right to marry.

  • @carlyonv Yep, it's bullshit isn't it.

Gillard made the CHOICE to not get married to her partner. It'd be nice to have to have that same OPTION.

    - We're not asking for anything unusual here... just a very basic and obvious equal right.

i won't shut up until it happens.

  • i LOVE the "Okay bye" part

  • Omg dude I almost cried

  • @drpower1965 That's sweet, thanks a lot.

  • i am in the usa, but i am so proud of you and every thing you say, keep it up babe

  • @daviemx51234 Thanks honey. Marriage equality WILL happen.. but not by itself.. we need to fight for what's right.

  • Perfect.

  • Maybe we should put a banner on the Harbour Bridge

  • @coollikeyodais What a fabulous idea!
