These critters seem like they could be quite vicious, but he looked rather friendly. :3 He looked like he was nuzzling you at the start. Like, "Gimme the crab!" XD Glad that some of them survived the sealion attack. ^.=.^

I absolutely love wolf eels. Really wish I could have a mated pair in a pond or something. Such friendly creatures and from such hardy stock too. Those guys are tough as nails.

Adults seem to live in pairs for many many years. I am not sure about what happens once a mate dies, the remaining fish seems to remian in the den for a couple of months but during that time does tend to have some extended absences then they are just gone one day. Perhaps they find another mate and find a new den. We can hope!
