I eat both of those, typically I boil both of them. Sometimes I like them fried, but only on very rare occasions. I almost never use tools to open them. I don't like to add herbs or spices to them. They have quite a bit in common.

You can tell crab gender by the size of it's tail on the underside of the body. A big wide tail is female while a narrow tail is male.

I do not mean to burst the her bubble, but that crab is a MALE crab. It is true that female crabs do have red-tipped claws, but not just the extreme tip of the claw. Sorry.

Not that National Geographic cares what I say, but the crab is actually a male, the apron on the underside defines a blue crab's gender. If you look on the underside, the apron is narrow, meaning it's male. Male blue crabs also have red tips on their claws. A female blue crab's claws are completely red. pause it at 0:57, it supports my statement.

This video footage is pretty good and shows some cool features of the blue crab. But I agree with others that the narration is simple and elementary AND this is a male crab not a female - big screw-up on their part. Female claws are much more reddish/orange.
