Damn! I'd consider getting one of these, but I've already had enough problems with the cops and besides,I'm afraid it might peel the paint off my walls as well.
First thing: Wow! Awesome playing B-Man. I'm not even a big EVH fan, yet I can't help sitting here and listening to you play!
Second thing: Have you played through the Jet City amps at all? Specifically their 20 watt model. They get this amazing mushy, growling distortion that I can't get over. I want it, but I don't want the one-trick pony that the Jet City is. Do you think AMT (or anyone for that matter) makes a pedal with similar tonalities and dynamic?
@batflash Hey, thanks. I've contacted Jet City about their isocab but they've never responded to my emails. So I've given up on them and therefore cannot comment on any of their products. Good luck!
i'd like to ask something...wath does it happens if you switch off the pedal?, i know is a pre amp, but if you run it in the fx loop of an amp, when is off it still pre amp the signal in a clean tone?
@aubreywithoutYou Hmm. I've only had a short flirtation with the Shiva and I reckon this one might be too hot for that territory. I can't really suggest anything from AMT's range to cover it - maybe the M1? I'll get 'em on to a Shiva for you. :)
I've seen your fantastics videos and I've thinked that you could help me.
I'm searching for a stompbox for the front of my Line 6 Spider Valve II and I like the AMT B1, the AMT S1, the Digitech Hardwire Valve Distortion and the MXR Wylde Overdrive. I already know that the AMT's are preamps, but, which do you think that is the best choice ?. ( I like to play rock to metal ).
Excuse me for my poor english. I'm spanish. Thank you for your time and for your helpfull videos.
@XusmoideX Hey, your english is fine - probably better than mine!
In your case I would probably have a closer look at the Hardwire VD, particularly if you want to place it in front of your amp. I haven't tried the MXR so I can't comment on that one unfortunately. Rock on. :)
@Burgerman666 HI, Brett. It's me re-again. Only one more question. In the videos the digitech Valve distortion seems like it doesn't have much lows. Itsn't ?.
@XusmoideX Hey! :) The Valve Distortion is more mid range focused. It doesn't try to replicate the bottom end of something like a rectifier or Bogner. It's more like a hot-rodded Marshall. And that's not a bad thing. :)
@MrSingleCoil Hey Kris. Thanks man, I appreciate the kind and encouraging words.
The amp is at the mercy of the level that you feed to it from the AMT. You can see I had it at around 9:00 o'clock. That was enough level to shake the windows and give the neighbours the sh*ts. :) The power amp is totally clean. It's at the mercy of the preamp; in this case our B1. Take care.
I want something really heavy, but with screaming leads and was wondering which was better between this, the R1 and the P1. Thanks.

Hey Brett, do you prefer the AMT drive series into your Hiwatt's front end or the legend series into your Laney's poweramp?
P.s. You're the man!

Burgerman666, I'm looking for a Bogner shiva type sound... would this pedal cover it? It sounds more like one of the higher gain bogners... Thanks!

Hi, again. I'm impressed for your ultrafast asnwer !!.
And what do you think about a metal distotion for the dirty chanel ?. it's too much ?.
I wouldn't want to fall short with a overdrive.
XusmoideX 1 year ago
@XusmoideX Well, the VD is pretty damn heavy when cranked. But if you want to go all the way, check out the Wampler Triple Wreck.

Hi Burgerman. Like ther rest of your viewers, I love you short demos and killer playing.
Question... You are running directly into the L5T power amp. Is that crancked for this demo, and what do you think to the Laney?
Thanks, Kris

hey bman
that b1 sounds like the best multi-vitamin you could subject your body to.
some very crunchy sounds that sing with your guitar well.
