how'd you mount the shifter? im currently making mine and trying to make it street legal too but i have a normal 1 not an XL but the shifters too far back for me to be comfortable, any ideas on how i can fix that besides a suicide shifter? thanks
dont mind all the dickheads out there that are saying its gay dude, i can tell that you have put a lot of work in your projects and i admire you for that
applid for a manufactured vehicle vin, there are a lot of steps but it can b done, you can se th state issued vin tag around 49 seconds in on th side of the frame, good luck!
seems to me -its better to make something that ' of what it is' than what it is not. This bike is a 125 honda or something.. isn't it with a schwinn frame?
where did you get ur blinkers, or light kit, please reply because i have built and 80cc 2stroke schwinn stingray chopper and im trying to make it street legal
i will build bikes too, but they are 80cc w/ light kit f&r lights, generator, and speedometer if my dad will let me. if you fund the project i will build and send it to u, if my dad will let me
Hey 3enigmas, Where did you find that springer front end? That bike looks kick-ass! I have a OCC stingray, and a huffy WCC bike ready to hacked together to fit the honda xl 500 engine I just bought. Im hoping to get this bad boy road legal too.
Umm, well sizing up the bike next to my TTR-125L I don't think it will fit without some frame modifications, unless it is a two stroke. If it is a two stroke it should fit in there very nicely. The max sized four stroke I think you can fit in the regular stingray frame is a 80cc or even a 90cc.
i read the comments and yes now i feel more confident that building a machine by yourself gives a man sooo much pride and sense of accomplishment. seriously 3enigmas you sure are an inspiration to a lot of us here. thanks man!
i have a similar project coming up. i would really be thankful if 3enigmas could help. i am installing a similar horizontal engine on a chopper frame similar to yours..and what (if any) modifications/reinforcements you might have done. how did you got the engine to stay on that single tube? could you give me some advice thanks.
Applied for MVIN (Manufactured vehicle Identification number), sent photos downstate, had a few police vin checks, one before and one after installing the vin number assigned, registered as a n assembled motorcycle. In Indiana it takes a couple months, other states could be much quicker. It is legal for highway use!
i have a video responce il send to u in a miute hope u like not as fast or powerfull but cool please comment or subscribe and check out all my videos i dont have a vidoe of me driving it yet but thats will be soon thars alot of snow here
Hey Enigma, there's always gonna be people who can and people who can't. The ones who can, guys like us, do what we do, and do it well. The people who can't, just try to discourage us by saying," Oh it's wrong, it wont work, blah blah blah. They're just jealous cause they spent their money buying some department store piece of shit with a serial number and no originality, while the rest of us,build head turning bikes for much less. So Mr Enigma out of respect, ROCK ON AND KEEP ON BUILDIN!!!
Nice to see mature comments! Some fail to realize that this is registered as a motorcycle and driven on streets and highways legally! I would love to see a better motorized schwinn on you tube, if you find it, post it.
I won't say mine is better, and it certainly isn't registered or street legal, but I like it anyway... ;) I posted it as a video response, check it out!
Dude, I think that you did a good job on your bike. I made 1 with a B & S 3hp motor, it works just fine. I also build racing Lawnmowers and people say that I'm a Redheck for building them. But when you have a Lawnmower that can do 70mph or more, Now thats just Pure Fun.
what are peoples problem? it takes skill to build shit like this, im working on one now, but with a chansaw engine, i dont plan on winning any awards, just thought it'd be fun. people need to shut up, these are nice bikes
jealousy, IQ and anonymity, mainly. I get 85 mpg and cruise at 65 mph with over 4000 miles acrued to date, I have yet to see another street legal stingray anywhere, and tke pride in this, the haters are childish want to be's and I laugh at their lack of intelligence while appreciating the viewers who recognize the qualities of this ride....
yeah, I could probably get a real nice bike for the $400 it cost me to build, what was i thinking? I could have rode around on someone elses design and not had to deal with the trophies or pride, the anonymous you tube critics are losers who would never dare talk the trash person to person, internet cowards.
Now how do you know I wouldn't tell you this to your face? That said the bearings and breaks would be much better on a factory built bike. Pride? You must not have much if a little comment did this to you. $400 + your time to build the bike and find parts.
It's a Schwinn Stingray XL with Schwinn Spoiler forks, Ninja 250 rear tire, brakes, Honda style CG125 engine, Yamaha Tank, stretched with a baja 125 swingarm. I have 3000 miles on it and have won two trophies. I will post video of it riding soon.

ha, they do make motor mounts for 80cc bike engine kits, no fabrications, and no drilling ur frame.... where did you get your forks?
paladain55 2 years ago
why not build a sportster that is just a motorcycle on a bike frame not safe!
pissinacup666 2 years ago
define safe! over 4000 miles without incident, safety comes down to operator
3enigmas 2 years ago
i meant that a bycycle frame does not have the same strength regulations as a motorcycle frame i think the frame will break under stress
pissinacup666 2 years ago
the engine acts as a stressed member, bracing the two main tubes diagonally

Not entirely sure, my stingray is the smaller version of his xl and the wcc one is about the same size as his.

i am worried about the base tube as the weight of the engine i think mihgt be too much thats why i asked if you did any reinforcements.
commachesse 2 years ago
Look close, you'll see mounts welded to down tube, the engine does not touch lower tube at all
3enigmas 2 years ago
thanks, just what i was thinking. i am thinking of getting a mount plate welded to the down tube so it wouldnt even touch the base tube.
