I had my hip replacement April 2011. I was walking the next day. It helps to have strength in your hips before surgery for speedy walking recovery. It was nothing to it! So sorry I waited 15yrs to get it. I had it at 52. Get strength in heart and mind and get done, its worth it to get your life back. If yur nervous dont watch these kind of videos. Pray and ask God to guide surgeons hands and mind. Thank for the mind of doctors to repair our broken bones D)
my BHR surgeries were done by a great doctor that i met several years ago that did emergency surgery to my dad for his femor. i couldnt ask for a better surgeon than dr. backe from osg group in fairfield, ct. it was luck that i postponed hip replacement until i found out by chance that dr. backe was doing BHR. thanks dr. backe!!!
I feel great!. It was so worth doing. I work in a Folding Carton Factory and have to climb steps on Press's and Cutter Machines on 12 hour shifts. I had such unbearable pain before my Hip Replacement that my life quality was horrible. The old pain is now 100% gone. I do have some healing pain, but that is getting better all the time. I still cant walk on my own. But every day it gets better. I wish that I did'nt wait so long. They even had to lengthen my Leg 1 " because my Hip was so bad.
To mikaelhanna...Well, I'm 51 years old, which recovery time may vary do to age and other factors. But from what the Surgeon and Physical Therapy Dr. are telling me that most recovery times can vary between 6 to 12 weeks...My Hip replacement was done on January 11th 2012, and here it is now, January 27th 2012...and just today I finally moved from using a Walker, and moved up to a Cane...I still have a way to go. I still can't Drive. I can't return to work yet. I'm guessing 2 more months or so.

On Wednesday I'll be 6 weeks out of mine and I'm recovering very well and even ahead of expectation. I'm so very grateful. Dr. Adolf Lombardi is my hero. LOL! No BS. He did a terrific job on me and @ 40 I can look forward to a pain-free, active lifestyle again. Anyone here about to go through this is more than welcome to PM me for advice and headsup like stuff regarding recovery. Best wishes!

@mkmsw101010 The average cost for the surgery is $39,299, it costs quite a bit, but surely pays off
