Thank you for posting this :) My next cosplay is Axel, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make his chakrams, because they looked so difficult >.< But now I can make some...Cheaper than the $200 Way to the Dawn I bought for Riku :D
i am sooooo gonna use this vid for making my axel cosplay... i have to make everything except the coat... *i dont even own any other type of cosplay, this is my first one! :(*
Do you think you could type out all the things we need? aside from the scissors and such. like the wreaths? because I'm not quite sure on what to buy.
and when you were showing us how to buy the styrfoam wreaths online you said something about both 6 inch ones nad 16 inch ones. that's why I'm confuzzled.... sorry.
that was really awesome!! i can't wait to try this out, my bff and i are going as demyx axel to a convention soon AND doing a audition as them. again: GREAT WORK!!
hey, have you found something better to use than paper mache? Just wondering, because I'm not that good at working with it, but I still want it to be sturdy and paintable.
You can use plaster, probably, however I've never tried it on these particular chakrams. I've seen other people use plaster on cosplay weapons, and it seems to work fine ^__^
im going to be axel in 2010 and with the coat my funds are......well not so hot and as we all know thats not cool for axel xD I really am happy that i can make the chakrams for cheap. my friend is going to be demyx xD we girls seem to love dressing as boys...oddly. how do you use paper mache?
ThankThank you so much. This will hopefully help. How long did they take u to make?cuz my axel is maybe coming over this weekend and were making these chakrarams. And i wanna know how long.like for the paper mache stuff to dry? Thanks a bunch.
well if you work on them pretty continuously you could probably get them done in say... five days? it takes about a day for each side of the Chakram to dry hope that helps!!
you can use tacky glue instead of hot glue, but it takes a lot longer to dry and will slow you down. dont use super glue or gorilla glue. and i don't know if they have those things at joann fabrics, but you can probably find them at michaels. it's just a theory though, i haven't been to michaels in years!
I wonder if I can use Acryl color on Papier maché? Thanks for the tutorial! :D

mylife1216 1 year ago
@mylife1216 an exacto knife will give you a cleaner cut, but i suppose scissors could work as well :)
