So Fox News was right. And all the networks minutes later all said the same thing. So what I get from this id that I will watch Fox News if I want to get the earliest accurate election coverage. And that guy in the clip makes a huge leap when he says "since Fox called it early that it was the only reason Bush won". Bush won because he got more votes in florida and more electoral votes in the US. Undeniable. Gore fought it for almost 2 months. And the supreme court upheld the law.
Bush did not definitively get more votes - anyone who knew anything about statistics would see that the margin of error exceeded the votes separating Gore and Bush.
And since we did not know, we had a recount that was tainted by the faulty perception that Bush had won Florida.
We don't know if he actually did, because the conservative Court effectively ruled against the majority vote and seated Bush.
What you should get from this is that Fox has made America dumber.
I'm still not buying the fact that the Fox news influenced the count. Their relationship is unrelated. Fox saying Bush won does not change the way someone counts a vote nor does it magically change a vote to his side. Gore called for recounts many times and each time Bush won the count for Florida. Even if it is in the margin of error, the count was for Bush each time. So Bush won because he had the electoral votes. Dont hate on Fox, hate on the constitution that allows an unpopular vote to win
False. The Supreme Court stopped the one recount that was ongoing when it seemed it was diminishing Bush's lead.
What allowed the Court to get away with that was public perception that Bush had won - thanks to Fox.
Bush might've actually won Florida - but the problem is, we don't know for sure because the one recount was stopped by the Court, which would've run into a firestorm of politics if public perception had not been so clear cut.
The decision to cancel the recount was done because there had already been so many recounts. Gore wasn't gonna stop dragging the process. The Court had to stop it. The problem is that the Court did not make the decision a day later. They came to it over a month later. You can't tell me that a month later the supreme court just couldn't get fox news' early prediction out of their heads. They looked at the facts and made the right legal decision to stop the nonsense and begin the transition.
You suggest that the judges should be guilty. The original count and the recount said Bush won. I think 2 counts is enough. Why would they feel guilty for ruling on the side of the voters. No matter how you spin it, Bush won Florida by popular vote. And it was confirmed in the recount. Fox nor the Court can change the proof of Bushes win, which is that he got the popular vote. He won fair and square. The counts proved it and the court upheld it.
The Court stopped the recount in the middle. I thought you would know this, as this was perhaps the most controversial part of the election. If the recount had finished and Bush had won, the Court would not have had to intervene.
The Recount did not finish. It was halted by the Court. Hence the uncertainty.

Pot calling the kettle black here. I recall Florida given to Gore to early by the media. The government investigation concluded that the media was biased towards Gore in how it reported that election even though the media said it wasnt intentional. That is FACT
When the "media" originally called Fla for Gore early on, that call was made based on exit polls which was in fact the correct call. The fact is most of the people who voted or attempted to vote or thought they voted, did so for Gore. Doubt only arose later when the results became too close to call because many thousand votes were not counted due to the faulty ballot system and ballots.
So they don't want to tell anyone that most news station were calling it for Gore even when the polls weren't even closed but as soon as the real stats came in it was a "close call" and was "to hard to tell". No matter how many times they recounted Bush still one. Period. The Dems said that they wanted EVRY vote to count but tried to throw away ballots from overseas soldiers who tend to vote Rep. Who's trying to steal what now?
I guess it's all about perceptions, but I recall watching the returns for both '00 and '04 and all I can remember is being outraged at how early CNN was calling states for the Dems. I was switching between channels and I distinctly recall CNN calling states earlier than the other channels...and IMO they were calling them for the Dems. FLA in '00 was a good example as I recall CNN calling it for the Dems well before anyone (including Fox) called it for the Reps.
I noticed now that CNN is very slow in calling states compared to all the other news station, for Democrats OR Republicans. I like that they are taking their time now.

Another lie on this clip. The other stations didn't see that Fox News had called Florida for bush and say they had to do the same. That is not true. What they did do is look at the real voting numbers.
Fox got it right first but all of the Networks called it for Gore using exit polling. This video is not being honest. Fox News called it for Bush only after the real numbers came in. I wish this documentary would show how every network said Florida voting ended at 7pm when it fact it didn't . It ended at 8pm and it cost Bush about 20,000 votes.

If the election was fixed or not, if there was that much controversy and un-trust in the results there should have been a re-election under the guidance of the un or any other international body, The US would request for similar requirements if per say it happened in another country. So Fox News was right. And all the networks minutes later all said the same thing. So what I get from this id that I will watch Fox News if I want to get the earliest accurate election coverage. And that guy in the clip makes a huge leap when he says "since Fox called it early that it was the only reason Bush won". Bush won because he got more votes in florida and more electoral votes in the US. Undeniable. Gore fought it for almost 2 months. And the supreme court upheld the law.

Bush did not definitively get more votes - anyone who knew anything about statistics would see that the margin of error exceeded the votes separating Gore and Bush.
And since we did not know, we had a recount that was tainted by the faulty perception that Bush had won Florida.
We don't know if he actually did, because the conservative Court effectively ruled against the majority vote and seated Bush.
What you should get from this is that Fox has made America dumber.

I'm still not buying the fact that the Fox news influenced the count. Their relationship is unrelated. Fox saying Bush won does not change the way someone counts a vote nor does it magically change a vote to his side. Gore called for recounts many times and each time Bush won the count for Florida. Even if it is in the margin of error, the count was for Bush each time. So Bush won because he had the electoral votes. Dont hate on Fox, hate on the constitution that allows an unpopular vote to win

False. The Supreme Court stopped the one recount that was ongoing when it seemed it was diminishing Bush's lead.
What allowed the Court to get away with that was public perception that Bush had won - thanks to Fox.
Bush might've actually won Florida - but the problem is, we don't know for sure because the one recount was stopped by the Court, which would've run into a firestorm of politics if public perception had not been so clear cut.

The decision to cancel the recount was done because there had already been so many recounts. Gore wasn't gonna stop dragging the process. The Court had to stop it. The problem is that the Court did not make the decision a day later. They came to it over a month later. You can't tell me that a month later the supreme court just couldn't get fox news' early prediction out of their heads. They looked at the facts and made the right legal decision to stop the nonsense and begin the transition.

You suggest that the judges should be guilty. The original count and the recount said Bush won. I think 2 counts is enough. Why would they feel guilty for ruling on the side of the voters. No matter how you spin it, Bush won Florida by popular vote. And it was confirmed in the recount. Fox nor the Court can change the proof of Bushes win, which is that he got the popular vote. He won fair and square. The counts proved it and the court upheld it.

When the "media" originally called Fla for Gore early on, that call was made based on exit polls which was in fact the correct call. The fact is most of the people who voted or attempted to vote or thought they voted, did so for Gore. Doubt only arose later when the results became too close to call because many thousand votes were not counted due to the faulty ballot system and ballots.

So they don't want to tell anyone that most news station were calling it for Gore even when the polls weren't even closed but as soon as the real stats came in it was a "close call" and was "to hard to tell". I guess it's all about perceptions, but I recall watching the returns for both '00 and '04 and all I can remember is being outraged at how early CNN was calling states for the Dems. I was switching between channels and I distinctly recall CNN calling states earlier than the other channels...and IMO they were calling them for the Dems. FLA in '00 was a good example as I recall CNN calling it for the Dems well before anyone (including Fox) called it for the Reps.

Fox got it right first but all of the Networks called it for Gore using exit polling. This video is not being honest. Fox News called it for Bush only after the real numbers came in. I wish this documentary would show how every network said Florida voting ended at 7pm when it fact it didn't . It ended at 8pm and it cost Bush about 20,000 votes.

If you're a part of Big Business,oil companies,mortgage and others that made a mint screwing the American consumer, you haven't lost.But "real" Americans are losing our homes,our jobs,our enviroment and our children.And if you lose a loved one,DEAD is DEAD.Even if it means fighting TERRORISM this administration created!Why wasn't it taken to the right authorities?Because there weren't riots or civil unrest as in other countries and the way we used to get our government off it duff,that's why.
