We were living in L.A. at the time this episode aired, though I was too young to what the show was. A few nights after this one aired, my mother saw Julia Louise-Dreyfuss at a gym. My mother was just finishing up a workout, and told her the episode was the funniest she had ever seen in her life, and one of her favorite gags was actually Elaine's goldfish subplot. My mother said she couldn't have been nicer. It was this episode that my mother realized this show was going to be something.

@SIngli6 You knwo I may have the answer as to why. You showed up for an interview tried to outsmart the person hiring you and he said take a walk. You use words that no one in the highest of positions would ever attempt using because even though they are words they aren't technically words used on a daily basis for communication. You use them only to try and attemot at seeming smart You are book smart not street smart I can tell.

@SIngli6 No it just shows you would be the first person to get taken advantage of. The world is alot bigger place then the classroom you sat in. You'll learn the hard way. I am not anti intellectual, just not so keen on hearing people claim the title intellectual and use it to disparage and put down others. Street smarts is essential to survival in this world as well. Books only teach so much and teachers only teach so much. You think you know it all but you are in for a suprise.

Everytime I see this episode, when the car won't start, I for some reason always hope that Kramer's going to say "okay Elaine, get out and push"

We were living in L.A. at the time this episode aired, though I was too young to what the show was. A few nights after this one aired, my mother saw Julia Louise-Dreyfuss at a gym. My mother was just finishing up a workout, and told her the episode was the funniest she had ever seen in her life, and one of her favorite gags was actually Elaine's goldfish subplot. My mother said she couldn't have been nicer. It was this episode that my mother realized this show was going to be something.
