  • "in 1969 IBM helps NASA put the first people on the moon" Well didn't the computer and autopilot crash -.-

  • @isokessu no?

  • 太ももwwwww

  • 1989:

IBM attempts to access 'Ol Mama Williams cerebral cortex in order to steal her famous chili recipe. She manages to thwart this attempt by making the worlds first tin foil hat out of a Jiffy Pop container.

    True story.

  • '

the microsoft windows OS is inside the IBM computer

  • NAZI

  • i love this company....lest as a post graduate onto a 56k salary within a year. company car and all.

  • Too bad Don Estridge from IBM used BRAIN dead chips (intel 80xx series) in the PC's but then again the PC was from the ESD division, NOT Big Blue.

  • mom... the first personal computer was built in Germany from Konrad Zuse ! the Zuse 1 !

  • to bad the quality is so bad

  • IBM = Involuntary Bowel Movement XDDD

  • IG Farben commissioned IBM WW2 to computate all JEWS. FARBEN / BAYER

    True Socialists AntiAmerican Commies

  • IBM supported IG FARBEN BAYER of IG FARBEN ordered by the War Criminal Courts to DEFUNCT1945 16 of 20 of their EXEC's charged as War Criminals Prescott Bush Rockefeller cartelled w/FARBEN made ZYCLONB GAS BUSH owned a STEEL FACT in Auschwitz Jews made steel for HITLER created Senators of HITLERS Henchmen NOW THE TRILATERALS AntiAmerican Socialist HIGH TREASON TRAITOR HITLERISMS COMMIES Undermining our Laws for self GREED When you hear The FEDS That's THEM Rothschilds ILLUMINATI & NWO

  • Coincidentally, my personal trainer's husband worked for IBM during the OS/2 era. He was pretty surprised when he found out that i procured a copy of OS/2 2.0 in near-mint condition for $19.99.

  • '

what about microsoft windows XP system in IBM computer,,,

    see this 321 to 323

  • 2010: IBM moves everyone jobs to india people !!!

  • romston,

2010: IBM moves everyone jobs to india people !!!

    '

    why do that,,,

in america need a better job

  • Also not included on this video and somewhat relevant to this idiotic finger pointing discussion -

IBM made M-1 Carbine rifles for the US during World War II.

  • Before the beginning of WWII IBM did do business with Germany as did just about any international business. They sold tabulating machines and typewriters at that time, nothing that could be called a System or a computer. I've seen many Nazi records in books and on TV but not a one on punched cards.

During the war they produce mechanical and electronic devices for the Allied war effort including the famous Norton bomb sight used to flatten the Axis... IBM retiree '68-'98

  • they are forgetting about the great systems IBM made to track people. It involved punch cards and little tattoos on the forearm. They knew what the nazi's were up to and went along.

  • @spiralfunhappytime23

It was the Arabs who were responsible. They invented our numbers 1234...well you know the others right?

Without numbers the Nazi tattoos would have been blank.

Oh wait, the tattoo inventor it was him!! Get him.

  • @dimbulb23 what a terrible argument and distraction

  • @spiralfunhappytime23 The fact is before the beginning of WWII many Americans were sympathetic to Germany and many companies that did business with Germany long before and after it became a Nazi state until the war started. Singling out IBM because it sold machines capable of maintaining prisoner records makes no more sense than blaming beer for the rise of Nazism because it began in a beer hall or blaming pornography on Samsung because you use their monitor.

  • IBM/Lenovo Rules! IBM used to own Lenovo. Lenovo is their own company now; however they still use "are licensed the rights to use THINK PADS/THINK CENTRE" titles and products. So they still have a partnership. :) They are the only two pc companies i'll ever buy! :)

  • R.I.P. IBM,the Big Blue!!!

  • Why would you say RIP? Who died?

  • I mean IBM's PC division

  • @smellytoilet1996 Oh right Lenovo., all that. Well the rest of the company is doing pretty well at least.

  • IBM investment in linux , wtf ?

    Who's drivin that train ?

Should I pat IBM on the back and say thanks for exploiting those ladies and minorities who should have got better treatment from the start ?

Should I thank IBM for stickin a social security number on my back ?

I guess I should just go on and thank IBM in advance for the fema camp and a nazi boot print on my head.

  • @azkeyz

thanks to linux, ibm has made the fastest computer in the world, or at least 2nd fastest. and what do you mean exploit? i don't see how a woman becoming vice president is exploitation. SSNs may be a pain but if more places used it, it would help the economy. much like what ryoga2k said, ibm wasn't really the reason nazi germany was successful. today, many countries that germany attacked used companies started by hitler, such as volkswagen.

btw, nobody asked you to thank ibm

  • Xerox came up with the GUI (Graphical User Interface).

  • @mjwh205 Xerox who?

  • Xerox came up with the GUI (Graphical User Interface) that has evolved into what we see today with Windows, Linux and OS/X (and others).

  • @mjwh205

That's like saying John Smith invented the windshield wiper that has evolved into what we see today, the Mercedes-Benz, the Jaguar and the Cadillac.

That not to say that a windshield wiper or the GUI isn't a useful and necessary component of what came later but it's just a component. Why not thank IBM for the hard disk drive without which the GUI interface would be worthless or Testla for the invention of alternating current?

Because it betrays a woeful level of ignorance.

  • @dimbulb23 Thanks for that insight.

My comment was in response to @javier29m90, who stated that Xerox invented THE personal computer. I pointed out that they only invented the GUI.

I think we are in violent agreement that this does not mean Xerox invented the PC.

  • Not to be offencive but your wrong IBM made the first PC and actually made the term "Personal Computer" or "PC" popular. IBM beat apple in popularity for over 9 years! IBM has always been in the top 3 for global popularity only surpassed by Microsoft (until 2008 then they switched 3rd and 2nd.) Only surpassed by Coca-Cola. IBM is worth more than Microsoft and Apple IBM is worth 60,211 million usd "u.s. dollars" Microsoft is valued @ 56,647 million, and Apple is @ 20th in pop and valued @ 15,433

  • to me MY IBM computer is worth nothing.

  • Computer or laptop? Because it's not the same thing, and I heard that the PCs produced by IBM generated loss, but the laptops were succesful.

  • IBM doesn't even make PCs anymore, they sold that shit to the Chinese. They were late to the party anyway.

  • IBM invented the sales pitch "THE PERSONAL COMPUTER"........not apple, also Microsoft doesn't do hardware, they develop software for microcomputers. And its a well know fact that civilian industry have freedom to do business abroad, beyond its boarders. And sometimes it could be doing business with a future enemy of the country it pledges its allegiance with. Unless the mother country government bans the practice! Then business can proceed.

  • Some people here are really stupid. Yes IBM did probably sell products to Germany during the 30s. But so did also all the german companies, and also french, swedish etc. The people involved in these acts are also dead and IBM, or the workers at IBM, (or Siemens, Porsche etc) have nothing to do with what happened for a hundred years ago.

  • what about IBM's involvment in NAZI extermation of the jews during WW2 not just before but DURING moving the hole punch ma to each country as the germans we talling the jews to be gased this is the most horrable thing I have ever heard I live in Binghamton N.Y. near old IBM they have left thear toxics behind & are nearly gone now leaving us dieing of canser but the whole killing jews thing is worse I will never buy another PC as I just have before enlightenment you got My last dollar killers

  • That's an stupid argument, a lot of companies and countries were involved with the NAZI government not just IBM, and even then, so where many countries, so what? Italy people is not welcome because Mussolinni wanted to help NAZI germany? IBM was probably the most important name in country logistics at the time, most advanced countries that wanted to be on the top at the time used their Technology in one or another way.

  • not during the war that is treason

  • @Ryoga2K I don't agree with you. Companies are not beyond the realm of social accountability and should face the consequence of making business with evil entities such as the Nazis. Saying that, i don't think that the current IBM should face such consequences but individuals inside the company that were more involved with the Nazis if present should take the fall.

  • @agetahon IBM is still helping the nazis.

  • @anyonefindAMERICA1 Please explain what you mean by your statement that IBM is still helping the Nazis. HRS

  • @Ryoga2K Spoken like a true NAZI, lol

  • @code0312 YES! like a boss LOL ... to be honest NO! I do dislike those NAZI ideas, to me anyone who believed in their shit was mentally weak, and those who still believe well.. I don't have words to describe such idiocy, but still I see how people has taken seriously all this IBM propaganda, and I'm just trying to explain that IBM was REALLY important at the time and the sole source for some stuff, if a government or big company used big scale logistics equipment bet it was made by IBM.

  • IBM aslo invented floppys and the hard disk.

  • cool.

  • ah..am so inspired!IBM rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What happened to the 1970's? Mercury Project? 7 series....5100's... PC type portables ...? Strange gap.

  • text moves too fast and when you want to rewind a few seconds back it goes too far

  • Large part missed:

1981: IBM creates there personal computer

  • thought it was apple

  • Actually yes, Apple invented THE personal computer. But in 1981, IBM released the IBM PC. Their own machine. Apple at the time, was working on the Apple II, and the upcoming Lisa.

  • They aslo invented the Hard drive and the floppy drive. Before Microsoft and Apple was a company.

  • ooo thanks this goes in my project...hope no copyrite or anything lol

  • IBM heps NASA to put the first people to the moon??? c'mon.... I thought it was ADOBE Photoshop which put people on the moon ;)

  • thats funny

  • Oh yeah, and uh... IBM provided our technology for the nazi's to kill millions of jews and turned blind eye while they did it in name of profit. FACT

  • Also in the name of profit, Google, Cisco and Yahoo creating a tailored internet for the chinese. All this technology is nice but at the same time you never know how or to what extent it's going to be used. All this privacy you thought you had, gone. All these security measures and yada yada, yet thousands of credit card #'s were stolen by hackers. Now, the govt gave telecom companies invulnerability = you can no longer sue them for the govt's "big brother" actions. So, where are we headed?

  • Your right they did. My only regret is that the nazi's failed in their goals. That's okay don't worry though russia and Iran are going to finish the job :)

  • i was gonna make this comment if it werent there already.
