I like this idea - that music and fun is available to everyone. I first saw a tin instrument in a Documentary about a refuggee camp in Africa where this guy played a spine tingling piece on ahome made tin guitar. :-)
Yes to both questions. The neck of the Tinklele is just a piece of wood nailed on to an old Uke neck and pushed right through the Olive Tin. Very simple. As for the playing get practising today dude ! :-)
Omg, why did you stop?! I know it doesnt sound much, but hearing you play has gotten rid of my depression over a friend. Aside from that, youve inspired me to pick up a uke myself. Please, keep making more videos. Thank you.
I've just come across your videos and I have to say, the sheer manifestation of human creativity evident in this vid is nothing short of awe-inspiring! Man, you should be up on stage supporting Jack Johnson or something...
Hi,I made a uke out of a biscuit tin a while back, it sounded good but lacked sustain. Since seeing your vids Ive tried your tuning, now the sustain is fine and I have better volume as well. Thanks very much for sharing your stuff . Your vids are fantastic.
Thanks John. I tune my uke's a tone higher than most people - ADF#B. Its a trick taught me years ago by an old uke player who was right in thinking you get a better carry and crisper sound.
extremely sweet tune on a great sounding instrument. I admire you for mastering slide playing on nylons!
