Thanks Matt! Really appreciate your listening. With respect to spelling of wHanker, we Americans have our own dictionary. :) We misspell all kinds of English, proper and otherwise. :)
Your melodic development is so strong in this piece......and I just love how Lydian feels so melancholic and at the same time, mystical and timeless.............but in a way that is so different than typical minor scale approaches. I can just listen and iisten to this and that speaks volumes. Beautiful work, Daniel. Put it on the record, please!
Thanks man. I have had so much positive response to this ditty. So ironic. I really felt this one was such a toss-away. I almost did not post it to youtube. It will definitely make the solo release.
a big fat tone cool vibe and groove, strong lyrical build up to some blazing exploration and then back again, really nice Daniel, I agree, no wankage here
This is great stuff. Lydian was an excellent choice here and the way you layered tracks was very tasteful.
Are you using the Repeater for looping in this track, and if not what are you using? Also, do you have an experience with the EHX 2880 because I was interested in buying a looper and this one caught my attention.
Thanks, and keep making great music just like this.
Thanks for you comment Firephox! Glad you like this work.
I use a lot of different looping tools but on this track its a pair of Electrix repeaters.
2880 is a cool unit. Very different functionality from the Repeater. I use them both in different ways. If you are shopping now, Ableton Live and a laptop merits consideration. More and more I find that Ableton is replacing my hardware loopers. Happy Looping!
I like the rhythm track you set-up for this Daniel. It's cool you've recorded and played with so many musicians, including Remi Kabaka, who recorded with Hendrix. You're a lucky duck.
Thanks MarkusFunk. I appreciate your feedback. That bass bloom is actually the guitar motif kicked down an octave in the electrix repeater. cool stuff.
I can hardly tell where the lydian fourths are. My ear is not trained enough for that. It sucks. I try to listen for things that sound like diminished fifths...
Thank you man. A little ironic for me. I almost did not post this one because I felt it was so whanky and self-indulgent. A lot of shred without enough melodic head. The compositional-thematic impact struck me as weak. Funny how different ears hear different things. I really appreciate your feedback, Maestro Looppool.
beautiful PRS! love the kaossilator too. thats a cool addition to this! I'll have to look in to some of your other videos. I like this one!

Fantastic playing. Very tasty. I love the way the bass on every other "one" just blooms on this.

This is beautiful.
Really wonderful and heartfelt
melodic playing.................so nice and rare in the world of guitar players.
Loved your Repeater pitch manipulation
with it's reharmonization of the main theme.
I just love Lydian. It is so...........well......
......bittersweet.............far more complex, emotionally, than typical major or minor.
Beautiful work, Mr. Thomas. I salute you (and am inspired by this beautiful music).
