@TamayoMeri It's "back hack". Trace is a simple running of the route, while hacking that route is more complicated with attack barriers. As for Cyber Police, I don't think that term ever comes up in the series and if it is in the movies or OVA, then it's once or twice.

And ya Batou is full cyborg, so jumping from building to building seems more efficient than running all the way down to start a slow ass car. The reason the enemy saw Saito was because that device Batou used gave away both the enemies location and their own, they had no choice.

@Xienis well hey when you think about it, because he didn't have a choice whether or not to send his date (because like you said it gave away both their locations) what he said was valid, meaning it would prompt Batou to do the same thing, if he said, "get his location" or something along those lines. Furthermore, he didn't really have time to pick the perfect thing to say since they needed to get that sniper before he got his target. Also Steve Blum is in GITS so it's automatically awesome.

@GraveyardDave19 It's a follow-up movie to the Stand Alone Complex series; kind of a extended episode with a bit more time devoted to the story rather than serializing it. The Major has left Section 9 for a while, Batou's trying to do what he can to fill in the gaps along with Togusa and the others when a very nasty hacking episode occurs....and that's all I'll say, 'cause I don't want to spoil it for you. =)

@GraveyardDave19 Your best bet would be to find either online or a local store that sells anime DVDs or even Ebay to buy yourself a copy; it's going for a fairly cheap price these days and is worth more than what they're currently asking. I have seen copies go for as little as $6 US or as much as $30. Either way, it's a good price! =) Barring that, there a few online sites with anime movies and such for the viewing; you just gotta hunt around a bit. Good Luck!

It's good to watch the original Oshii movie first, then Innocence. And it wouldn't hurt to see GitS SAC and 2nd GIG all the way through ending with this movie. The Oshii movies have a different feel than the series that's much more artistic and philosophical than the television series, which focuses more on politics.

@Twycross I started watching Cowboy Bebop in english, but I got the entire series and watched it all in Japanese with subs and found that a lot of the voices were similar while at the same time, some fitted the characters personality better. Like Faye for instance. In the english her voice makes her seem a lot older than she really is.

@fleamarket3000 Well you got to think, it's like how they have translated the Bible into so many different versions. They all say the something, yet say it differently. So the subbers have a little more freedom in interpreting what they are saying. When they do a dub, they have to line up the lip syncing while maintaining the same plot and keeping the dialogue similar.

if anyone caught the subbed version, they will know that this scene is dubbed wrong, Saito does not want his position given, but he hacks the other sniper's Eagle Eye to determine his position, AS A RESULT OF WHICH, the enemy sniper sees Saito targeting him, turns around and takes the shot... no sniper would purposely give out his position....
