I got a different radio shack model (12-588) to hack, and it works!! You just have to remove the back and seperate the circuit boards. When you do that, you'll see a strip of wires connecting the two boards. Cut the 2nd wire from the end labeled “mute”. It’s really easy to do, but more inportantly, it works really well. You do need headphones, or a set of external speakers for this model.

i ordered the 12-470 from our local radio shack it was on sale $59.99 slashed to $11.99. But they are giving me the run around, they told me it was the last one in their inventory in the district. THat was on June 10th...july5th now. Still no radio.

I want to purchase this radio, but I also saw a viper video showing how to hack this model.
But, a viewer commented that this same radio has been changed by radio shack. And he didn't know which ribbon to cut.
Do you know how this model can be hacked now that they changed the inside?

atleast the "click" isn't as bad as the 12-469 model...
is the conversion easy, i seen a couple in my local store.
