  • Charlton Heston was one of the greatest actors ever

  • RIP

    He was an amazing man.

  • Charlton Heston was an awesome actor. LOVE, LOVE him.

  • Well it looks like I'm going to have to pull out the old cliche'

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Buy a gun and put it on a table and see how many people it kills!

  • yeah you're right. But guns help them a whole lot. Try killing someone with a piece of fruit A gun is a thing invented to take life. It has no other usage. And I really don't want someone who joins a club dedicated to a deadly weapon,to have that weapon.I wouldn't want you to have a gun for the simple reason that I don't trust you one iota with an instrument of killing

  • Add up the bullets fired at people in ALL FIVE of the Top Five (by body count) mass murders on USA soil in ALL of US history (INCLUDING the worst-ever SCHOOL massacre, whose body count equals BOTH Columbine AND Virginia Tech), COMBINED.

    Grand total? ZERO!

    #1: 9/11, thousands dead (jetliners)

#2: Oklahoma City, hundreds dead (fertilizer)

#3: NYC nightclub arson, 81 dead (gasoline)

#4: Bath School Massacre of 1927, 45 mostly kids dead (dynamite)

#5: Airliner sabotage (explosives), 45 dead

  • Sigh, you don't know enough to comment.

  • Welcome to the world of free speech and the right to an opinon.I question your logic. But you ain't a researcher

  • Yes, I'm not a researcher. But I advise you read a research report written by someone with a PhD. Like I said, you don't know enough to comment. If you did, you would be arguing on the correct side of the argument. So read the report.

  • The most great legend of Hollywood!

Charlton Heston se convirtió en uno de los principales héroes del cine estadounidense. gran icono del Hollywood épico.

Mantuvo hasta el último momento una gran entereza y compostura, similar a la que aplicó a sus papeles históricos.

He will be sorely missed. ... RIP

  • Heston was my president

  • i agree!

  • this country was founded on guns and guns are the reason why you can sit on your ass and have your freedom of speech. pick up a history book and learn a thing or two. have some respect for the deceased.

  • In case you didn't know a woman sued Luby's Cafeteria in TX when she had to take her constitutionally right to carry a gun back to her car. The restaurant had a sign that said no guns. Then a criminal who apparently can't read. Oh that's right he's a criminal. Went in and shot a killed both her parents that she met for lunch. Just think of how that would have turned out if she only would have had her gun. She won by the way. Restaurant rules don't have precedent over the constitution.

  • so many hillbilly gun nuts why dont you all shot each other fucken loser guns are good to kill NRA nuts have fun blasting each other pigs!

  • yeah what a lovely story. Like the man who shot and killed his own son because he mistook him for a robber or the kids who brought guns to school and mowed down their classmates.

  • Because guns weren't allowed at school. Should they been allowed most of those students would be alive today because those "kids" would be dead from being shot by law abiding citzens as oppose to asshole chlidren that didn't get enough love from mommy and daddy!

  • You don't think more people would wind up dead. And you can't tell who the "law abiding citzens" are anymore. In your mind there are criminals and "law abiding citzens". Reality is not that black and white

  • Exactly! it's not that black and white. To label a gun owner as a homicidal killers is wrong.

"Fruit" is a horrible analogy. If your intention is to kill... it wouldn't be a piece of fruit. Yes a gun kills when the wrong person pulls the trigger. And if the wrong person pulls the trigger I want the ability and the constitutional right to pull my trigger.

  • Fact: MANY TIMES more premeditated school shooting sprees have happened in JUST the 1½ decades since then-President Bill Clinton's Gun-Free Schools Act (which banned guns in all schools nationwide) took full effect (October 20, 1995), beginning less than ½ a year later (the first of the modern rash was in Moses Lake, WA on February 2, 1996), than happened in the 2¼ CENTURIES of the ENTIRE HISTORY of the USA •BEFORE• that.

    DIDN'T ••WORK••, DID IT!?!?

  • Gun free schools? What they could have guns before that? Are you kidding me?

  • Prior to October 20, 1995, there was no federal law in full effect banning guns in schools nationwide.

One was passed by Congress and signed by then-President George Herbert Walker Bush, but it was deemed unconstitutional (violating the Interstate Commerce Clause) and rescinded by the Supreme Court before it could take full effect.

In the entire history of the USA, only ONE school shooting spree, with 1 death and 2 injuries, happened in a time & place where guns were NOT banned in schools.

  • The point is simply this: even people who have "snapped" or are in the throes of hypermania (the specific mental illness at the root of most such incidents — itself a KNOWN side-effect of SSRI psychotropic pharmaceuticals such as Luvox® [Eric Harris of Columbine], Zoloft®, etc.) are still sane enough to know that their best chance of taking lots of people with them are where people are guaranteed to be defenseless — where guns are banned.

They do it where the DEFENSELESS people are.

  • We have only EVER had one school shooting in my country and guns were NEVER allowed in schools here. And if guns were allowed in schools who'd have them? The teachers? The janitor? A security guard? If guns are actually AT school doesn't that make it easier for the shooters to find a gun?

  • Denmark is a lot smaller and a LOT less ethnically diverse than the USA.

"If guns are actually AT school doesn't that make it easier for the shooters to find a gun?"

Can you name a single premeditated school shooting spree in ANY nation, ANYwhere, anyWHEN, in which the shooter didn't bring his (or her) own gun but instead used one that s/he happened to find there?

To answer your middle question: security guards, plus other well-trained adults.

  • Staff was allowed to at times in some schools, especially in high crime areas. It's just not publicized to the students.... that would open another can of worms.

  • "Just think of how that would have turned out if she only would have had her gun."

She had a clear shot at the guy, and could've taken him out easily.

But, that's not the point. The point is, if that Luby's in Killeen had not banned guns, that killer never would've gone there in the FIRST place. He went there BECAUSE they banned guns, and he knew that the people there were thus DEFENSELESS, and he'd be able to take lots of people with him to make his sick final "statement."

  • RIP
