Alright. This is an ok vid, the only problem is, how are landfills affecting global warming? For one, we only contribute to 7.3% of the carbons that are supposedly being put off by us. The rest is nature. If we were to do all we could to stop global warming and all, we couldn't do it. stopping pollution and all is NOT A BAD IDEA, but please stop sitting on one thing which was mostly a hoax to start with. Although, you still can't contain all of the waste water, some gets into the water table.

we cant recycle things like clinical waste nor fly ask from the incinderators or asbestos the only way to get rid of the stuff is to bury it in landfill, i drive on one every day the thing you have to realise is as long as a human is alive we will continue to create waste and we will have to find ways to get rid of waste easiest and cheapest option bury it.

another way is to reform our packaging .... if suddenly we werent given bags or wrappers or cans , and if we had to take refillable bottles to be filled, if we used our own stronger bags to carry our shopping home then im sure we would still survive: we dont need it. Also common sense tells us that cheap plastic products which do not biodegrade should not be available to buy so cheaply, we should know that it causes mass waste (happy meal toys??)) from our consumer society.

@damon365420 I'd like to go to those landfills in a bio-hazard suit and pick up all the trash that CAN be recycled. I'm trying to propose a ban on plastic bags and implement a B.Y.O Bag Policy along with a 10 cent cost for a paper bag. I like the companies from reuseit.com that are creating longer lasting recyclable bags. What's cool is that people can use these for wedding favors, gifts, and stocking stuffers.

This is a serious subject and I commend the students that made it for their science class.

I live on a Caribbean island very popular with tourists and our island is built up like a small city. Our landfill has grown into a huge mountain of trash with no end insight. Our local government is clueless how to start with recycling and composting. To make matters worse, our citizens suffer from large fires from the landfill on a monthly basis affecting their health.

Anyone that has walked on a real live landfill would not make the idiotic comments made here. Landfill hold all our trash, many not biodegradable, landfills are toxic for humans and landfill fires contain dioxin. Please conduct more research before to find out the health affects.

However, I feel strongly that something which is, in effect, propaganda ("The Danger of Landfills") really has no place in a "science" class, where we might better teach Newton, Faraday, Galileo and others whose work has more or less stood the test of time (yes I know that Einstein and others updated them, but you know what I mean, I'm sure.
