  • whatd he say? lol

  • watch?v=9-SZOrZvuyY

  • Salmonella?

  • pasta flour

  • No. Semolina. It's a type of flour.

  • great...was craving sweets before but this made me more hungry hehe, looks like it could be fun to try though =)

  • its not poori....its puri....btw i don't think this guy is really indian because i can't see how he can misspell such a simple word......either he can't spell or for 200 years my ancestors have been spelling it wrong.....

  • Mis-spelling are getting more common with more cultural awareness.

filipino, and corea are some examples that come to mind, and I have seen both Pinoy and Korean's use the mis spelled versions.

  • Corea is the actual spelling before the Japanese changed it to make them feel more important. You see, "J" comes before "K".

  • Filipino is the correct spelling ...?

  • the "P" was not dropped until Cory Aquino became president as i understand it. So while you choose to make sophist statements, it doesn't detract from my point. that being a spelling nazi or to take offence at something as minor as such, is juvenile and shows a lack of maturity and detachment from a changing world.

  • dude...spelling of transliterated words don't matter BECAUSE THEYRE TRANSLITERATED in ANOTHER alphabet. as long as you convey the same phonetics it's fine

  • lol his accent makes me crave indian food.

  • i crave it regardless. despite living in USA, we dont have enough variety ;_;

  • That just looks delicious

  • For a non-English native speaker, having accent is reasonably fair.

I have accent too when I speak English, but I want to keep my accent and DO NOT want to remove my accent because I love the place where I was born so much, and I am very proud of it.

  • so you're proud of knowing that your country suppresses the Muslim people of Uygar?

  • I am not Indian, sir.

  • his accent IS awesome!

  • that looks good

    your accent is amazing too

  • lol i love his voice. it sounds like hes sayin pooties lol

  • yes

  • i just love indian bread. it doesn't look good, but when first tried them it was really yummy. thanks for sharing the dish. i'd love to try it out.

  • wow..really easy to make and yummm...thanks Chef and can you plz show us how to make pooran puri (deep fried "D" shaped pooris) & the hyderabadi dish "luqmi" (deep fried, square shaped, filled with mince meat) I hope you got it what I'm requesting...thanks again for sharing with us..you really inspired me to learn & cook more :)

  • Thanks this looks great with simple ingredients, most of my recipes for sweets have milk in it yet... so a cheap/ready sweet to make. Just if it could not be fried in oil. Any such recipes without oil for frying?

  • you can do the roti/chapati version that he showed... that was just using little butter (which you can even leave out) and no oil

  • Thank your for taking the time to educate some more on this subject. :)

  • He made one without oil didn't he?

  • that's a unique tip to make halwa poori...thanks!

  • what is suge?? the white powder ?

  • sooji is Semolina flour...you can find it in indian/paki/middle eastern markets. Also, I find it easier to use Cream of Wheat, it's the same thing and can be found in any supermarket.

  • Thank you for mentioning Cream of Wheat. I was thinking the same thing but was not sure.

  • How is sooji different from Semolina flour found in Italian pasta?

  • Hi there, i have heard that Cream of Wheat can b used, is that the one which is in a little box with a black chef on the packaging ?

  • yes

  • yes, and it says Enriched Farina on it. I think it also takes less time to cook than the raw sooji you get from paki/indian stores.

  • semolina

  • look good ,and the taste also i bet. so easy .must try.

  • kurwa nic nie kumam :/

  • no ladle butterfly today :(

This look really delicious. I like the savory ones. I always go over to my Indian friend's apartment when we're at college, and raid her fridge for mango pickles and eat it with the flatbreads : )
