  • FUCK THAT!

  • @Theultimategooch

Then go buy a new one for $300

  • can u fit a Ipod touch 2nd generation headphone jack in a 3rd generation Ipod?

  • @DannyDaRapper

if the pin's, ribbon , physical size, and skew positions are all in same place, then yes, i see no reason why it would not. if you try and it works let me know.

    thanks! Remember to subscribe :)

  • @orvis8 already did but umm I was tryin to take off one of the screws and the nail kinda lost it's shape lol is there another way to take it off?

  • @DannyDaRapper

i not sure what the "nail" is. sorry.

  • @orvis8 sorry I meant the screw,it got striped.

  • Use soldering wick!

  • Hey I was wondering if you know the schematics to the jack. 5 pins, which is which, left+,right+,ground, mic, plus I believe two wire have to be together to shut the internal ipod speaker off? I have an external speaker with a built in jack and I want to just solder the wires strait to the ipod. I have everything ready to go but unfortunately I lost the damaged jack so I can not get this figured out. anyone please help.

  • is there any way of removing the old jack without the beating tool?

  • @nyrangers96 i don't know what a "beating" tool is.

  • @maneater1119 because he's a badass lol

  • @maneater1119

yes you can, but new solder would have a better conductivity ad it is burnt less.

  • do u need to soder?can u use super glue lol

  • @IAMBIGFAME

Yes super glue is non conductive.

  • @IAMBIGFAME OK THANKS

  • my audio components are lose. i'm trying to figure out how

to open it and tighten them.

  • I swear those screws are fucking impossible to unscrew.

Out of the thousands of tools my dad has in his garage (he's a mechanic), I could not find ONE that could unscrew them, except for a LITTLE toy screwdriver lmao...I managed to unscrew the first one, but apparently the second one is screwed in so tight that I pretty much messed up the screw trying to open it...help?

  • @Cloud98

try using like a toothpick worth of epoxy and epoxy the screwdriver into the thread of the screw. then try to unscrew it.

    remember to subscribe

  • @Cloud98

if you buy a screen removal it *got mine from ebay* you normally get a screwdriver with it that is designed for that screw specifically and others that are similar in size.

    Hope this helped :)

  • @orvis8 Heh, sort of late, but thanks. :)

I still haven't touched my iPod since then, lol, I have an Android right now, using music.

  • @Cloud98

Ya sorry, i guess i missed the e-mail notification on your comment. sorry about that.

  • WHY CAN'T APPLE JUST FIX EVERYTHING ! FUCK. Happened to both my ipod touches. >.< Just fix the damn problem.

  • Shitt i can't do this.

  • @ItsmeSammyy123

YES YOU CAN YOU JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE!!!

ps: don't jump out of buildings. :P

  • is it easier to take the glass out or the back.. im almost changing the battery...

  • Does the watt of the soldering gun matter, or it doesn't?

  • @wtfisjdm

as far as i am concerned. no it dose not.

  • do you have to solder it?

  • @ilufftaylorlautner

Well I don't know any other way to keep the 2 metals in contact.

  • @orvis8 alright then ta :)

  • U don't need four hands. Lol. I do this repair on ebay. U have to pull on the old jack, while u de-solder each of the 5 points and it will come right out. And its easier to do the repair if you unscrew the lcd and flip it over since part of the lcd overlaps a 16th of the headphone jack ribbon cable.

  • and do you have to have a desoldering gun as well?

  • @ibelievein30STM

    id recommend it.

  • @orvis8 shit!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ibelievein30STM You dont need a desoldering gun. U can take out the old headphone jack one of two ways, either unscrew it and pull on it as u desolder each point, or cut the ribbon cable of the headphone jack, and then desolder the left over piece of ribbon cable off the board. I wouldn't recommend anyone w/o soldlering skills to do this, especially because on certain ipods, there is really small surface mount resistors that will come off if you apply 2 much heat or get to close to them.

  • @BlackCaScorpio well i never new of that, nice to know, thanks, but i tried to keep it as simple as possible and not dis-assemble unnecessary things to prevent damaging them.

  • what type of soldering gun do you use?

  • @ibelievein30STM

    flux core electronics's solder

  • @ibelievein30STM I do this type of repair on e ebay. You can use a typical 25-30 soldering iron.

  • my headphone piece that you stick into the headphone jack snapped off in there is there anyway to take it out?

  • @jinaraink

cut a q-tip in half and stick some super glue on the end, hold in place till it dries on the jack that broke off, pull out,

**i am not responsible if you damage your ipod**

  • I know, like it SUCKS not having four hands!

  • @MrPhotodoc

  • is there a difference between the 2g and 3g jack?

  • @v4extreme

im going to assume its the size or structure. otherwise im not sure.

  • @orvis8 ok, I asked because I was finding only 3rd gen jacks online and was thinking maybe they were compatible- looked a little more and found a second gen jack on amazon.

successfully got it replaced, this video was very helpful, thank you!

  • @v4extreme

no problem. remember to subscribe! >.-

  • @v4extreme there the same jack in the 2 and 3 g

  • @orvis8 I found a few micro solders actually, my question: Are you using a 12V 8Watt, 12V 30Watt, 12V 40Watt or something different?

  • @classicalmix

idk. its a wall powered soldering iorn. Sorry :( as long as it dose not get hot enough to burn the abs plastic under the solder you should be fine.

    Remember to subscribe thou!

  • @orvis8 Yeah, nice video but in fact it may be harmful.

Just so you know: I found three types of small solders once had max temperature of 400C, the other 600C, the other 900C. Now it depends on the type of iron we use which one we need. Furthermore using the incorrect solder may burn the motherboard, not using the right one will not melt the iron. Nice video if you're willing to take a chance at breaking the ipod for good. Please specify on the description.

  • What is that thing called wheere u dipped ur solder (the brown square thingy)?

  • @tepmac

a sponge. you can also use steel wool but i prefer a sponge.

  • whats the micro thing called exactly??

  • @kiopre

can you be more specific... i don't know what a "micro thing" is either.... you mean the micro soldering iron.. liek i said 3 times to use in the video.......?

  • you do the a 60 dollar job sitting down in your shorts. amazin.

  • @imapwnu32

    yep ITS JUST THAT EASY!

    remember to subscribe :D

  • @imapwnu32 60 bucks, i wish. they said the cost to repair mine was very close to the price of an new ipod

  • @hifatpeople oh gosh. yeah well i gave up, i just got myself an ipod nano 2g. >____>

  • My ipod got rejected by gay apple, how can i do this? One ear doesnt work. Cant see what your doing and dont know how to get screen off

  • @hifatpeople

i hate to be a duck but if you WATCH the video and LISTEN to what i am telling you i am doing you can do it. and also why don't you read the description and go watch someone else's "screen removal" video like i said im not making.

    Man people need to listen/read..
