I've been to Panic at the Wharf both years and while I admit it was much tighter last year than the previous. i think it had more to do with what the local PD had to focus on at the time. The first year they played it also happened to be Mullet Toss weekend at the Florabama (which draws hundreds of thousands of drunks), and the red snapper tournament was in full swing. Needless to say it taxed the 60 some odd local police. Last year was different story - nothing happening but Panic.

I went to law school, I was at those Panic Shows, and I drove through a checkpoint on Saturday night. Lucky for me, I only drank alcohol before the show and not during, safely stored away any questionable materials (in theory) deep in my trunk, was not visibly intoxicated, and had my driver's license and proof of insurance handy when the officer came to my window. It's called precautions, boys and girls. You have to expect this sort of thing these days...
