  • I know bodie gotta take orders from his boss but, he was close to wallace-minus the game. i would of aimed the gun at em' to head back to the country and not come back ever.

  • It's crazy that seem to real but it is what it is we got our ass whooped by mom and pops 4 taddle telling. Icouldnt do my homie like that tho i would've sent his ass back to the country and told his ass he better not ever come back thats real to me...

  • Only problem I have is that he turned on his friends when we was willing to snitch, that's why he deserved it.

  • Damn, i got so mad that i looked for the clip where bodie got shot to make me feel better lol

  • @beartiger2270 thats the game yo thats the fucken game

  • Comment removed

  • Seems like I was the only one that found Wallace annoying. . .Dukie too.

  • Bodie was never right for this life...and I think deep down, he knew it.

  • As sad as this was, it needed to be done...Wallace was tripping from the time he saw that body and it was only gonna get worse

  • that's some sad shit yo but Wallace was a soft kid if he would keep on like those hardcore motherfuckers maybe he had been murdered brutally

  • what season is this??

  • @TheStickUpKid187 first season

  • This scene illustrates why this show was the best ever made. Heartbreaking

  • Omg! Every time i c this, it makes me cry! ........But i still love stringer :'(

  • this is why i hated stringer

  • but too Bodie trying to talk himself into killing him and justify his actions and Bodies hands was shaking a bit

  • but too Bodie trying to talk himself into killing him and justify his actions

  • bodie kinda like chris n snoop like theyre just soldiers and do what theyre told poot asked why wallace and bodie said cuz stringer said so. I felt bad when bodie got killed kinda but wallace begged for his life and bodie shot hhim anyway he was following orders fucked up orders but still

  • this fuck up i could never kill my nigga

  • When Bodie asked Wallace if he was a boy or a man at 3:25-3:37, and Wallace answered "A man" instead of a boy..That's when Bodie knew he had to kill Wallace, since Wallace said he was a man. If Wallace would have said he was a boy, I think Bodie and Poot wouldn't have killed Wallace.

  • I love how when they're at the place eating Bodie has no problem eating a meal and Poot barely ate anything on his plate. Bodie is a soldier but Poot isn't built for the game. Poot ended up leaving the game towards the end of the series.

  • @maxjordan90 Yea and you see who was still alive in the end. Besides that, you saw the way the gun was shaking in Bodie hand? He ain't wanna do that shit, but he knew he had to. And Poot actually the one that finished him off. See killing an enemy is the easy part. These dudes grew up together, best freinds basically. Could you kill your best friend over business?

  • hez a bitckh

  • part of me never forgave bodie for this.

  • in a fucked up way, i kinda admire poot for shooting wallace after Bodie, he was trying to shoulder some of the burden bodie would have to bear.. in a really fucked up way of course...

  • @Shirokulo I think he was also trying to help Wallace in a way. He wasn't dead when Bodie first shot him and Poot was also trying to put Wallace out his misery too.

  • It's amazing how Bodie didn't see things the same way when Little Kevin got killed. It's the game. Still my favorite character.

  • Poot and Bodie had the same conversation after Lil' Kevin got popped. The circle of life in Bodymore.

  • Thats messed up they had to kill wallace.. BUT.. snitchin is unacceptable

  • This Is Exactly Why O-Dogg Popped Bodie's Fucking Head Off.. Its Called The Universal Law Of Karma...

  • Yeah that shit wuz pretty fucked up n sad, but Wallace did snitch. And if bodie n poot aint step up as being soldiers in the game they would been taken out to. So its fucked up on all they parts. #1 rule to many folks break "NO SNITCHING " Cause u gon pay wether it be u direct or a family member. Let the streets handle shit. Its fucked up but thats just the way it is...

  • Bodie didn't even really want to kill him, most deaths in this show was shot in the head. Wallace could of lived if Poot didn't finish him.

  • That's baltimore niggas for u

  • ^ look at my name. This is REAL LIFE shit. I kno.

  • I guess the lesson is: if you are stay in the game, you gonna hafta deal with the consequences. You accept all the pros & the cons that come with the game.

  • its the game.

  • I didnt want Wallace dead. Damn

  • this shit made me cry b

  • And this is why us as a people fail, brothers killing brothers and for what? I understand the law of the streets but to not kill but murder a child who is your friend one you claimed as your homie straight fucked up b, heartless and cold. I like bodie cause he was a trooper but your loyalty should be towards your friends before some fucking street code

  • This scene is terrible!!! Damn...smh

  • every time stringer talks to someone he is just trying to get information or be manipulative.. he is a true snake in the game

  • @thestranger4812..in the streets it is always your friends that you got to watch..

  • One of my few problems with the Wire is this sequence. It was just strange how Bodie and Poot could kill their friend without much hesitation.

  • Stringer always liked Bodie.

  • This is why i didn't feel anything when bodie got popped.

  • @DickieM92 Do you expect him to let go of a guy who was going to send him to prison?

  • @DickieM92 Bodie was a soldier, Wallace was weak and would have turned easy. He did what had to be done, as sad as it may be.

  • @DickieM92 Bodie was great, a true gangster

  • @DickieM92 And Stringer.

  • @DickieM92 i felt bad for wallace too but it was all his own fault

  • @DickieM92 when bodie did this he was young and wreckless, by the time he got popped he had deff grown up, and realised that this game was allbullshit, he realized it when his boy lil kevin got popped for nuttin, jus like how he popped wallace for nothin. when bodie died it sucked he became a real nigga after tht.

  • I know it didn't take much to convince bodie, but what changed Poots mind about killing walace? I never got that.

  • @ballssssssssssssssss Cause he seen that the Nigga taking care of family and wasn't snitching.

  • Very sad scene almost brings a tear to yo eye, because we all can relate to these characters if you from the hood.Sad but its hard not to still like Bodie's character he was a real loyal soilder.

  • So where exactly does Stringer tell Bodie to kill Wallace?

  • @ichapelle

When he says "ready to put in work". Its like italians saying "whack that fool".

  • @BENNYSIEGEL90 Ahhhh ok thanks.

  • poot couldnt eat his hot dog too sick about murder

  • heart pump kool aid

  • bodie's charachter was a stone cold bitch that just wanted to b down im glad marlo got em the fuck outta here yall trippin marlo, snoop, chris, and micheal straight took over the wire with perfection

  • @mannycocoa

Stone cold bitch? Marlo's a bitch. In the entire series, all he cares about his reputation. But he runs his reputation by fear. He tried to get the kids to respect him, and trust him, but they ain't stupid. Snoop was just another simple pawn, who would do anything the boss say. The only ones I'd say ran the Wire in Season 4/5 would be Chris and Michael. Marlo is whack. Avon was way better. Marlo doesn't do shit, but lay behind the shadows.

  • @mannycocoa fuck outta here you sound like a mark that'd fuck over anyone for a rep - would not want you as a friend. bet you mad insecure about your damn clothes

  • & Bodie didnt wanna do it after he was in his face he was givin his self reasons to do it !

  • Ya homies ain't ya homies! idc if my nigga was snitchin if he ma homie i can't just do em in like dat

  • String knows he coulda hired somebody else to do it. To make somebody kill their own friend is fuckin sick.

  • @GRG313

He was testing Bodie. The boy acting all though in front of him while almost pussying out when he had to put in work. But I think Bodie crew out of that weak emotional shit even if there was some left of it in season 4.

  • @BENNYSIEGEL90 When did he show weak emotion in Season 4? To me it just seems like he was fed up wit the bullshit by that time. AND he we out like a G.

  • I know you guys probably know the background song when they're at McDonalds and Bodie tells Wallace that he still acts like a kid, but if you know the lyrics Paul Anka says, 'people say loves a game, a game you just cant win' (and ya know, 'the game' ) that shit is heartbreaking....and the way Bodie looks at Wallace when he says 'I'm a man'... thats one of the most unforgettable moments of the entire series.

  • The sadest scene in the whole series.

  • this is the most messed up scene in the whole series i think

  • This was the toughest scene for me to deal with the entire show.

  • @cabunaw2 Me too, I also found it strange that I still liked Bodie later on and was upset when Marlo got him.

  • @cabunaw2 Mine was Randy going to the Group Home. Or Dukie going to Prezbo.

  • @cabunaw2 it was but he was about to snitch on the whole entire group

  • @cabunaw2 Yeah it turns your stomach to watch. One of those great scenes that brings home the reality of killing someone without getting preachy or schmaltzy over it.

  • @cabunaw2 yeah yeah it was.........

but i didn't like bodie, string get got either

  • @naptownbound and D'Angelo

  • Bodie shoots Wallace and same thing has poot.

  • that shit was intense & I really liked Wallace after Hardball movie

  • Absolutely heartbreaking. I have never seen anything more awful than this on television.

  • I just realized stringer wouldn't been shit without avon.. he was riding off avon's name and repuation

  • i love how he that idiot puts a hood on like he'd get recognized.

  • 3:32 - 3:38 Bodie realizes how tough killin his boy might be. Easy to pop someone if you think they weak

  • I thought they werent supposed to talk in the car? can anyone explain?

  • @powermjp Try acting like ur not a bigot. Will Smith?? Forest Whitaker?? The actors/actresses of color...nevamind. No use of arguing with George Bush's turd chunk.

  • i feel like poot couldnt stand to sit there and watch Wallace suffer so he just took him out of his misery.....

  • That was just rude.

  • bodie just plain didnt like wallace...poot didnt wanna do it...but he was dammed if he n dammed if he didnt...but wallaced played so he payed...he knew wat time it was.

  • damn , the game.

  • I liked Wallace. How you gone kill wallace?

  • I think the reason Poot took the gun and finished it was to cover his ass. You can't leave loose ends when you kill someone. By him taking the gun and shooting he assured Bodie that he wouldn't be talking to the police about it if he ever got caught for something else. If he hadn't shot he would be a liability as a possible witness & he would have been next.

  • @WileeC i think thats pretty obvi cuz

  • i haven't even seen a full episode of this show but this little snippet nearly had me in tears. =,{

  • @aelishaful you should watch season 1 , 3 , 4 , 5 ...... 2 was pretty weak....4 was the best

  • @KrayzieB0ne3

Season 2 was a perfect commentary on what's happening to the American middle class. The best line from the series was taken from that season; "we used to make shit in this country, we used to build shit." It's better after a first glance. I recommend re-watching that season. Much of what happened later on with Avon, Prop Joe, and eventually Marlo was dependent on what took place during that season.

  • @KrayzieB0ne3 Its neva nothing weak bout the wire dear....

  • @MegaBabygirl30 but u cant lie though 2 was not as best as the rest baby ;)

  • @KrayzieB0ne3 same real shit loved it alll

  • I don't understand one thing.. what happened to kids? I'm now at the sixth episode of 2nd season, so maybe the answer for my question is somewhere further, but at the moment I'm still thinkin' about that

  • @Wrooblas kids disappered lool

  • Real ghetto music while they're eating in the background

  • 1 of the most touchin scenes of this series, sad but It was somethin that had 2 b done, u cant snitch and expect 2 stay n the game, let alone live n it.

  • Bodie didn;t wanna do it, you can tell when Wallace said "i'm a man"

  • bodie didnt wanna do it

  • @cage000100 yes bodie did poot didnt want too

  • @DaLibraTay poot didnt want to at the start but when they was at the house he was all fot it...and if bodie really wanted to do it he would be shaking while pointing the gun...poot he to say do it if you gonna to do it and then thats when bodie fired...poot had to finish him off

  • i swear this is the best scene in the show

but i wonder what the producer was trying to say with the Tupac poster behind Wallace

  • @MoneyMakinShae you talk and you get killed. jus like pac i guess

  • DONUT LOL

  • Black Star is the illest.

  • lmao poot was not trying go up there lol

  • In most hood shows, you have a gangsta who does some objectionable shit; but then you get a back-story about his tragic childhood and scenes of him supporting his sweet little sister or something - in other words, he makes a plea for your sympathy. Bodie's not that guy - he does everything a gangsta is supposed to do, and doesn't ask you to forgive him for it. But we end up rooting for him in the end because we have to ask: would we have done any different in his place? Perfect character.

  • I know Poots feet must have felt like lead when he was going up those stairs.

  • Mos Def "Hip-Hop" FTW!

  • this is when Bodie is a 'pawn'

  • "Fifteen. Here take ten." LOL

  • I love that imagery of the 2Pac poster at the end.

  • I always felt that Bodie represented the stereotypical black man that popular culture always lies to us about. Bodie is too contrived, always trying be hard. He always thinking that's the only way out. What's sad is that there are alot blackboys/men playing that same contrived role in society today. Wallace taking care of orphaned kids while his friends deal drugs and chase women. And they said Wallace wasn't a man?

  • @ouodi yea, you have some men and boys who ACT that way but in some cases men/boys ARE that way, made that way since child hood by absences of family like bodie (not just fathers but families)... but in some way i understand what your saying some believe you have to be hard to be a man while wallace is being the fatherly figure type which is also being a man

  • heartless he's only kid

  • @malisoldier16 hell they were only kids and they didnt wanna do that shit u could see it in they face bodie shed a tear u can see him wipe it as he walks out the door

  • @mr205100 he had something in his eye thats all

  • After Poot and Bodie became close after this, when Bodie was killed, Poot had to leave the game. Too much hurt from it for him to stay.

  • that was some real mafa shit the way they took him out for dinner before they wacked him and the music just topped it off!

  • stinger was an evil cunt!

  • good thing bodie got what he had coming to him later on

  • whats the track playing at 1:28, sounds like mos def

    Anyone?

  • @TH3USUALSUSPECT mos def: "hip hop"

  • Stringer Bell was very calculating, but he had no honor. Avam

n Barksdale was the heart and soul of the crew.

  • Disgusting

  • its funny stringer and Mcnulty called bodie a soldier...

  • who was gonna eat the last hotdog

  • how the fuck did this season not win any awards this show is fucking amazing is it because there were to many black actors and actresses or maybe because they said nigga to much or is it because it was so real and the acting was so good that they thought that most of the actors were people they got off the streets doesnt matter all i know is that this show got rob for 5 seasons of awards

  • @abctime35 Actually you're right as Wiki states: "Despite the critical acclaim, The Wire received poor Nielsen ratings, which Simon attributed to the complexity of the plot; a poor time slot; heavy use of esoteric slang, particularly among the gangster characters; and a predominantly black cast" So, one of the factors why the wire how hasn't won too many awards was because they had too many black actors on screen (Basically too many black actors onscreen is a no-no).

  • @coolkid19901 I just can't believe that. I always thought the street scenes and storylines were the best in the series. Then again, season 2 had the best ratings and the fewest black actors...

  • @abctime35 Because imagine jumping into one episode, it's near impossible. People don't open a book half way, so they have to make the effort to read all the way through. It's like lord of the rings, if you can't push your way through the boring parts, your missing out on an amazing book.

On your real actors, they got people from the street sometimes, actors from the street especially, not the hardcore ones like chris, but snoops is a real g, her image in that show is her real life.

  • @abctime35 most of them were from the streets

  • @abctime35 its because its nothing like the "soprano's"!!! this show was AMAZING!!!

  • @abctime35 I sort of agree. For what it's worth, the Wire was nominated for a slew of awards. In any case, David Simon/The Wire is almost universally admired in the industry. Among writers and actors, it's mentioned all the time as a peerless example of great television, great storytelling. Awards are such dog-and-pony show anyway. The ones who get awards are often simply the ones who sell more dvd's.

  • tell me the name of the song when bodie meets stringer pleasee . Oh yea wallace a softy he had to go .

  • I'm a grown ass man,but seein' Poot & Bodie do Wallace had me cryin' like a teddy bear carryin' little girl. That shit hurt my heart for real

  • @tabbypappy i feel you homeboy (not sayin i cried lol) but this scene displays the reality of the game. too real.

  • stringer bell was the king of the show really!

  • I love how Bodie is trying hard to see Wallace as a man to lessen the guilt. Brilliant writning always in The wire!

  • anyone know the song playing

  • @Petey123123 hip hop by mos def

  • bout the only scene in the wire that nearly made me fukin cry-jesus christ what a series-never be another as good imo

  • Stringer forgot the rules, he talking shop in the car.

  • I hate to see this...no other race of people hates their own and kills their own like the black race. As a black woman, I am saddened and angry at black males for killing each other and not the real enemy!

  • @Missy2012NY , oh shut up stupid.....the Italians,Russians, Mexicans.....whatever...any race of people that has ever had anything to do with the drug game does whatever necessary to keep the business going. It wasn't out of hate......it was business....pure and simple. Was it right? Hell no. Does it happen like this all the time.....yes. But to say its only black kills their own like this is naive and reeks of self hate.

I think you got some personal issues you need to work out.

  • @VallaeBoy You need to grow up. The wire depicted the reality for far too many inner city young black males. It's not a 'game.' Killing is never a 'game.' Anytime a person kills, it's out of hatred and total disregard for another person's life. To state that it's 'business' is pure b.s.

Also, I didn't say it's only blacks who commit murder. Every racial group has their share of problems; however, much of the inner city 'gang' related violence is black on black crime. Stop glamorizing it!

  • @Missy2012NY "you need to grow up"...Im not the one sounding like an over emotional child. "It's not a game"....to you. "Killing is never a game"...tell that to every government, military, and organized crime family in the history of man. "Anytime a person kills, it's out of hatred and total disregard for another person's life". Thats a simple way of looking at it....but in reality....all type of people kill for many different reasons...some out of emotion...and some (like Wallace's.

  • killers).....because its their job.(some goes for the any military thats ever existed) "To state that it's business is pure b.s." Then you must not have comprehended the reality that was depicted all through out the wire......and (whats worst) ignore the reality faced by many across the world who have unfortunately chosen the "drug game" as a means of income(ignorance is bliss as they say)

"Also I didn't say it's only blacks who commit murder"..I know you said "no other race hates their own

  • and kills their own like the black race" which once again is a simple way of looking at things(and also ignores the track record of whites killing whites..Holocaust or even South American's vs South Americans.....ei the drug wars that have engulfed that whole region...etc) "Every racial group has their share of problems" no shit. "however"...no however. "inner city gang related violence is black on black crime"....once again you ignore Asian on Asian or even Latino on Latino(

  • which if Im not mistaken are responsible for the biggest gang wars currently raging now.....ever heard of MS-13, Latin Kings etc?) But once again....its just black people...lol. "Stop glamorizing it!". Never did and you only said I did.

At end of the day. Recognizing the REALITY of the situation and able to comment on it intelligently is the first step to solving the problem....VS acting irrational and PRETENDING the problem is only a black thing or the DRUG GAME isn't real.

    Grow up

  • @Missy2012NY , one last thing...if you actually read my first post(instead of purposely misinterpreting it) you would see...Im not glamourizing this life at all.

  • @VallaeBoy i think your both right in a way. Yes, in the drug game killing is "just business" as Stringer and Avon say, but it also means that the killer doesn't care very much about the person he's killing. Also, I think the reason blacks are more likely to kill each other is that they started with a lot less than some other races coming out of slavery, and recently gaining civil rights. Lots still live in poverty. Still, I feel so bad for Wallace in this scene!

  • @goceltics339 "i think your both right in a way" I beg to differ.....I look at the drug trade like any thing else....realistically. While that one chick looked at it on a purely emotional standpoint. "but it also means that the killer doesn't very much about the person he's killing" which is in no way a rebuttle to my original point of the drug trade being a harsh reality predicated on money......and in noway supports the nonsense Missy(lol) was pumping.

  • @goceltics339 "Also, I think the reason blacks are more likely to kill each other is."...whoooa.. stop right there. You telling me Latinos in the Mexican Mafia, the Italian, Russian Mafia or the Asian Triads are less likely to kill each other than black people if you fuck with their money??? You telling me that the participants in the Israel/Palestinian conflict are less likely to kill each other over land than the Barklsdales and Marlo over a block? PLEASE.

  • @VallaeBoy I'm saying in America theres more violence between blacks than some other races because they're forced into urban poverty and many have to sell drugs to get by. Look at Dukie, he had no opportunity for anything, even though he was smart. He tried to be a player, it wasnt in him, and he became the new Bubbles. Every race will kill over money. just in the urban streets of america, blacks are the mostly the ones on the corners. Any other race in urban poverty would do the same

  • @goceltics339 "Any other race in urban poverty would do the same" Which is exactly the point I made.......and goes directly against the nonsense Missy was pumping....that you tried and co sign with.( "your both right in a way"....not really) Saying blacks are the only race capable of murders like the one perpetrated on Wallace is nonsense and ignores the urban realities(crime) of such places as South AMerica, Russia and the middle east.

    Glad we agree.

  • @goceltics339 Oh please. Nobody MAKES those niggers smoke crack.

  • @islamSUCKSballs1 nobody makes them do anything, they just have less options and oppurtunities for their lives than others

  • @goceltics339 Yeah like affirmative action and all of the various rules schools have that let blacks in over whites even if they score lower on tests and GPA? How about all the housing programs that are out there for them? Do you think I could get ANY of those if I tried? No. Why? Because I'm white. Sounds like they DO have some opportunities doesn't it?

  • @islamSUCKSballs1 think about kids like dukie, randy and michael, THEY had less opportunities. Did you watch season 4? Their school is terrible and these kids had no chance to go anywhere. They made Dukie go to highschool, which he wasnt ready for, Randy was shipped back to a group home, and Mike had to look after his brother 'cuz his mom was a drug addict and his step dad was a child molester.

  • @islamSUCKSballs1 As a public school teacher in West Baltimore for 13 years, believe me, the kids in these neighbourhoods have a significantly smaller chance of making something of themselves than their white counterparts. Those housing projects? Shit. Affirmative action? Amounts to nothing when it helps such a small percentage. Where are the jobs in black communities? Where are the computers in the schools? Why were all my textbooks over 20 years old? Why are there so many drugs in the inner

  • @islamSUCKSballs1 city and not the suburbs? Where's the playground equipment? The field trips? The chemistry sets? Judging by your YT name, I can't imagine your mature enough to seriously consider what either myself, or 'goceltics339' are saying, and that's ok. But your ignorance is pitiful.

  • @goceltics339 you may need to venture out a bit more. this 'violence' is complicated...if you don't know how it works. it's been in effect for more than is 'allowed' by centuries count. get in or stay in, man.

  • @goceltics339, point regardless of the race....poverty or the chance at fiscal opportunity can prompt anyone group of people to violence. ANd it's not about slavery. Its about lack of opportunity in the urban city which the wire was depicted.

  • dam this part is sad but real...u can tell that was their boy and they did not want to kill him (judging by the way bodie hesitated) but sadly the game is the game and snitchin does have consequences. not sayin i support killin but thats just the reality of it. i knew how real it was when i saw poots eyes waterin; i mean who wants to body a close friend. but like i said the game is the game.

  • @sn83 And the game is some weird fucked up shit, where young poor people do and are submitted to evil things to make some gangsta-king even more wealthy.

  • @Mesterse, its not weird, its the drug game......but the Military, CIA& FBI work the same way. (Iran Contra affair anyone?)

  • @sn83 , exactly......it was business...pure and simple....Once string gave the order Wallace's fate was sealed. It's fucked up. But this is the scene all the little kids who are thinking about the drug game as a possible business venture need to look at. If your not prepared to kill your best friend when commanded to..........the drug life is not for you.

  • @VallaeBoy yup, its a harsh reality

  • @sn83 , exactly....you said the key word..REALITY...and I think most of the dudes commenting on either a)how Wallace deserved it because he was a disloyal snitch b) try to excuse what Wallace did to get himself shot ....don't understand the REALITY of the drug game.
