Since they're pumping out so many titles I think it would be nice if CAPCOM made a whole line of games focused on the fast paced shooting. EX: "operation raccoon city", the fast paced shooters. Reserving the slow, deliberate, puzzle style games as Resident Evil, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. There would be something for eveyone. What I've seen of RE 6 and this game look similar. Raccoon City looks more fast paced but not that much more. 6 could tone it down a notch with a title like this on the market.

big fan of the old zombie type not the running ones(expect Nemesis from re3 he made it even more fun) so residentevil died after residentevil 3 if you disagree with that then that mean you never played residentevil 1 back when it first came out 96 for me it was 98 the new age of resident evil is alright to me but just miss the old walking zombies so i'm looking forward to playing this one just cause it brings back alot of memories+walking zombies 3ot5 cause i miss the puzzles days & scary nights
Okay... everybody complaining about Resident Evil not being the same anymore listen to me. This is not the standard for all future Resident Evil games. This is a departure from the series. You are playing has Umbrella soldiers that are armed to the teeth and that is what makes the gameplay so action-oriented. If you want to play a great Resident Evil entry that is new and retains survival horror gameplay, go get Resident Evil Revelations. It's beautiful!
I hope people will actually play this online. I'm not that big a fan of modern warfare since niether 2 nor 3 really changed much since the first one, and it's hard to find a shooter game that people play regularly other than modern warfare and halo. and looking at all the stuff this game offers for multiplayer this is gonna KICK ASS online Heroes mode FTW

No matter how much u hated it's a RE.. I've been playing since RE1 and forever been a fan. RE just takin a couple of routes B4 it moves on. This Resident evil feels like it's going to be awesome! @Pianistos Last time I checked it hadn't gone anywhere. Resident Evil has evolved and had many different game play types but the original games are still around and certainly just as enjoyable as they were years ago. In fact most of those games have had remakes or HD face lifts to make them more palatable to a newer generation. To Capcom's credit they take chances with their biggest franchises and most times it pans out. Give it a chance!

I'm going to get this game because of the fact that it looks genuinely fun. It's not a GoW, COD, or any other game like that. No, this has something those others don't. Mainly it's not a "Shoot that guy over there while he shoots back," it's a "Shoot at each other, but you have a common enemy that can really screw you over." Besides the fact it says RE, it looks fun as hell, and that's what games should be.

I truly miss what the series was. :( The original survival horror, where you was worried shitless about finding a herb or ink ribbon or ammo, the tricky puzzles, and that moment when you walk into a save room and was relieved that you had time to rest. They were the games I came to love not this . . I will still more than likely get it though, but I want a RE that is slow paced and will scare the shit out of me, not a fast action shooter.

I just played the Revelations Demo on the 3DS, and it's scary, with a much slower pace then RE5. On hell mode, the game provides a great challenge. Ammo management is a must on Hell Mode. I actually had to maneuver past some enemies to complete the demo because I ran out of ammo at one point.

The Horror elements that made the franchise what it was, were replaced in favour of intense action, over dramatic and unrealistic characters, and cheesy catch phrases. these things do not make for a good horror game. Both this and RE: Revelations look pretty dull. Capcom quit milking your damn series to death and killing off the good ones. Capcom shouldn't get a free ride from fans because they made about 5-6 good games back in the day they're pulling a nintendo.
Alot of people are hating on this game for all the wrong reasons (Atleast it's not another WW2 or COD game) You can't expect to go into this hoping to play Resident Evil, you have to take it as an action/horror shooter that takes place in the Resident Evil universe, or you'll be severely disappointed. Sure they added a cover system (Which...are overused severely) but it's taking us back to Raccoon City, and showing us what happened behind the scenes of Leon, Jill, and Claire's scenarios.

Seems from seeing the gameplay vids so far, that Vector is the all around, well-rounded stealthy soldier, Lupo is more of a hard hitter, but can command the rest of the team, being field commander. Four-Eyes here on the other hand is the weakest, but can really be made for up-close and personal single kills. She's made more for indoor missions and not outdoor mayhem. Of course Beltway is the ballistics man and heavy tank.
Game looks fun, should've made a new game without the title "resident evil".
You got all the fans expecting what the previous games have delivered, changing game direction can be very bad for sales; resident evil (stick with the survival horror theme).
This game should've been a completely different context to be successful; we see epic gameplay, yet the dislikes are huge.

At least zombies are back. But, seriously, where's the horror? Resident Evil is about being alone with scarce ammo to defend yourself. Not a squad based shooter. I'll probably still play it for the story, and if Leon dies, not only will it make no sense, I'll be pissed that my favorite character is dead.
The combat looks sloppy, the A.I. looks basic, the sound effects are shallow and dull, the environment looks like its going to be over-used and repetitive.
I was honestly excited about this.. until I saw these gameplay videos.
First you kill Mega Man Legends (and Universe), then you keep rehashing the same fighting games as full retail rather than updates, and now you want me to buy into a wall high cover shooter that use to be a survival horror? Get dunked.

Alot of people are hating on this game for all the wrong reasons (Atleast it's not another WW2 or COD game) You can't expect to go into this hoping to play Resident Evil, you have to take it as an action/horror shooter that takes place in the Resident Evil universe, or you'll be severely disappointed. Sure they added a cover system (Which...are overused severely) but it's taking us back to Raccoon City, and showing us what happened behind the scenes of Leon, Jill, and Claire's scenarios.

Seems from seeing the gameplay vids so far, that Vector is the all around, well-rounded stealthy soldier, Lupo is more of a hard hitter, but can command the rest of the team, being field commander. Four-Eyes here on the other hand is the weakest, but can really be made for up-close and personal single kills. She's made more for indoor missions and not outdoor mayhem. Of course Beltway is the ballistics man and heavy tank.

You got all the fans expecting what the previous games have delivered, changing game direction can be very bad for sales; resident evil (stick with the survival horror theme).
This game should've been a completely different context to be successful; we see epic gameplay, yet the dislikes are huge.
