Hey Danny. Ive tried everything. I do not mod or any of that stuff. Im simply trying to farm these little buggers. I followed some other tutorials. I was told to mine a 16x16x6 chunks where the slims spawn  (which I have done several times now) and still no luck. I see you mined out the entire area, even the surrounding area around the chunks. Before I try your method, why cant I get any spawns? My minecraft is version 1.1, no modding so frustrated. Ive been doing this for 1 week with no luck...

@Skidkid6 16x16 is simply one chunk. I have 5 chunks in my area that spawn slimes which increases the chances of one spawning. Make sure torches are spaced around 5 apart and make sure you're playing on normal/hard.

@Skidkid6 Near to them but not too near, mobs won't spawn within 24 blocks of you or something. Adjacent tunnels shouldn't matter as such, just light them up as normal

probably the best way to light your spawn room is puting the lights in the ceiling. give the slimes best chance to spawn

can someone help, my two floor slime trap has spawned nothing in like half an hour? i dont think the coordinates or wrong, but can anyone suggest some things i might have missed?

@htaetypos Sometimes it might take a few hours. slimes share the mob count with other hostile mobs. Make sure any nearby caves are lit up so other mobs will not go against the mob count. also make sure there are 4 blocks of air between the floors, good luck!

@Sammy15087 they can spawn at any time of day, and i would light up as much of the cave as possible. A great trick i use in caves is to only put torches on the right side walls so when i need to leave i just navigate with the torches to my left. make sure that there are no torches on your spawning pads; or as little as possible. Torches interfere with the area causing "holes" in spawnable area. Make sure you stay within 60 blocks(i think) or so of the slime chunk, or they can despawn

@Official510 Not necessarily, it's only counterproductive if you have torches on most blocks. A spacing of 4 or 5 per torch will sufficiently light the room and allow slimes to spawn.

@SaintGris They spawn at any level between 0 and 40 now. But they used to spawn in only 0 to 16. (This doesn't mean you must dig that high, only did somewhere between these two. A three high roof will be sufficient as the biggest slime only needs a 3x3x3 space to spawn).

I'm getting a lot of questions regarding slime spawns. A slime can only spawn if you're 24 blocks or more away from it. They are 90% less likely to spawn than any other mob. The more slime chunks you dig out, the more likely you are to get a slime spawning (obviously, it's simple probability.) Spawning is 'random', give it time and if a slime still doesn't spawn feel free to ask any questions again.

Hey Dannyboy, I've followed a similar tutorial to yours i'm trying to build a slime farm in multiplayer at the moment i used the same slime chunk locating guide and I dug all the way to bedrock and carved out a 3 chunk radius, and placed a ton of ligths in the area but still no spawns, is it because i cleared the area out at the bedrock level ? or any idea's what i'm doing wrong?

@Tewdric26 I can't really give advice regarding multiplayer because I've never done it. It could be the server you're on. 3 Chunks really is quite small though, the more chunks the better because it increases the probability of the slime spawning.

not working for me. it's 2 blocks high, in a slimechunk, i'm moving at least 24 blocks away so they can spawn and it's at Y 13. any tips?

@Exlesain Slimes are different than other mobs as far as I'm aware, I think you have to leave the chunk for a while and then come back. I'd also make the actual spawnpad larger to cover more chunks because the chance a slime will spawn is random, the more chunks on your spawn pad then the more chance of getting one to spawn/

@randomizer37 Using fraps and then editing the files together on Sony Vegas. I am not no, I was playing 1.9 pre release 4 (or 5, can't remember), however nothing has changed about the chunks or slime generation so this tutorial still applies. :)

Thanks for the vid, I knew most of this and I had got the slime map but I still haven't figured out how to get that search graph out of the way to see where I am (which I will need when I go looking for the slime area) it's always filled to the top of the screen on that side lol (why that side I wonder, all the important stuff is there) :D

@juklg8 I agree haha, it's a silly place indeed. I think it measures your graphics performance or cpu usage, so when it's all the way at the top it means you're using it all (if you're on a a laptop try plugging it in and then trying, that effects how the game performs) :)
