nobody likes the "EF" system. I still use the F scale. Yes tornoados can have 300 mph winds. The Moore OK one had 318 MPH winds.

If this is the one that went through Smithville MS, it has been graded an F5 by the NWS as of today....just read it.
So tornadoes don't have 250-300 mph winds now? Seems with this new EF rating scale that all the meteorologists and media people say 200 is the max.

@brfts2001 They can go higher, there's just no way to tell really as the destruction at even 200 is going to be pretty much total. EF5 is 200mph+.

That's saying something considering he saw the OK city tornado in 1999.
