  • i like the host, he seems very humble

  • David Brent at 14:13.

  • great host

  • i like this host he comes across as a dead relaxed down to earth person most tv show hosts come across as they love them selves and the show is really about them

  • George graduated from my highschool...makes me feel all fuzzy inside :3

  • @MrSkinnynerd03 i liked your comment. thats pretty cool. did you know him?

  • @neilkulp ahh i wish George graduated in the early 2000s, i believe *03 , i graduated just this summer.

  • Had no idea that Ricky's father was Canadian.

  • I LOVE GEORGE! WE HAVE SUCH GOOD TALENT IN CANADA. I hope they never leave

  • Shame Ghost town was rubbish.

  • He is a good host, very humble and genuine, reminds me of Parkinson in the UK.

But that's only because he doesn't have to be funny, like all the late night hosts.

I think Craig Ferguson is genuine and funny which is even more rare.

  • I love how Strombo is genuinely curious - an endearing quality.

  • Gervais is always funny. He doesn't even have to try to be funny, and even when he's not laugh out loud funny, he's constantly entertaining and engaging. The most natural man interviewed I've ever seen, his individual interviews are like little episodes of comedy in themselves.

  • Superb Host ,Nice job George can't wait to see you in the states

  • sweet earrings, canadian

  • I want to Ricky do a PETA "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" ad!

  • head like a fucking orange

  • @specialfx34 we want him not to be FUKING GAY !

  • Strombo is my homeboy. As in, I served him popcorn and saw him on the TTC a few times in Toronto. That makes him my homeboy right?

  • @lazydog03 you're a disgrace

  • great host. Can't say enough good things about this guy.

  • gotta love the skip this ad feature

  • I have a terrible internet connection and there is an unskippable 50 second advert trying to play. So far I've been here for 2 minutes and haven't started the actual video yet. Google can fuck right off for making me wait

  • @blindinglightshows Use Adblock.

  • @blindinglightshows Would you rather pay to watch these videos?

  • agreed. i haven't seen a single american host close to this one.

  • @skaloon yeah, i've lived in america for 25 years and can vouch for this. please send him over.

  • wow who is this host, i could look at him all day and he's the best interviewer ever!

  • Ricky's right. He is no Clooney type. 'Cos Ricky is adorable, beautiful and sexy!

  • hmm this Stromboulopoulos is quite good he didnt make Gervais look like such of a div. sometimes interviewers make him seem like he's up his own bum and a touch manic

  • id pick him over mr clooney any day, thank you

  • HE'S BISEXUAL.. no.. i mean ricky..

  • HE'S BISEXUAL..

  • This is why we love Strombo.

  • Two really cool dudes on the show!

  • I have never seen anyone try so very hard to be cool as Stromboulopoulos

  • there's a difference between arrogant and self-deprecating. he's dry and extremely funny. intelligent, too. very typical of british humour.

  • Im a huge Ricky Gervais fan but i dont know how he can put down other movies and turn down roles when every movie hes been in has been complete shit, sorry but its true, theyve all been average or below with short moments of humour

  • @SamHain1031666 Invention of Lying was GENIUS.

  • @SamHain1031666 i thought cemetery junction was brilliant aswell, really funny, yet still had a good message in it.

  • @specialfx34

did he say ''I like that eminem though''?

  • George looks like he wouldn't be out of place smoking weed outside a nu metal gig yet he comes across as a very intelligent and quick interviewer. not one of these fools who has to look at the cards all the time.

  • greatest comedian and russel brand

  • This is one of the shows where you actually like the host.

He's just honest and genuine, all a host needs to be.

As for Gervais, he's been seriously slouching of late with material but he's still a comic genius. He is the Tyson of comedy, he was just built for it.

  • "as me,or as a worm?"

  • What a great interview!

  • @specialfx34

you forgot reasonably attractive and personable.

  • can't believe how many people think he loves himself....irony is completly lost on some people!

  • How did he manage Suede?

  • Im gonna tell my she bag of a wife that she's fired! Ha... if you knew who donald trump was you'd be dying

  • Brits are awesome. i wanna move there soon :)

if u would have me of cos!

  • @lamestguyintown I'll allow it

  • @lamestguyintown mate, its not what u think. Its been overrun by immigration. Honestly, I see tourists in London and they are sincerely shocked!

  • I find it strange how americans find just the way we talk funny.. When Ricky says "Jawline....everything" the crowd laughs. That is a very normal way of speaking to a brit.. lol. I see the same with russell brand. That americans find the melody of his speech funny..

  • @channelyourvoice this is a canadian show filmed in toronto, so it's likely that the audience is mostly canadian. but yes, we canadians find british speech patterns amusing as well :P

  • @didi1194 Its funny you should reply. I have just finished watching ' Get him to the greek' with russell brand . I remember thinking that this is the only time I have seen a film with a brit in, where said brit is allowed to speak as he would normally speak.

  • @channelyourvoice what about in british movies?

  • Why do we have to deal with these FoxNews pricks in interviews when we can have someone like this dude, hes a great interviewer.

  • I know,I wish they'd show this show in the states. I'm from California but I have some family up in Vancouver and I watch this show whenever I'm there. He's a lot better than some of the US of A's so called 'interviewers'

  • @speccwolf

    only in canada my friend

  • 0:01

  • Good interview. =D

  • @specialfx34 Its just a shame he believes in God

  • Ghost town was a good movie.

  • @specialfx34 I agree I've also watched his Dawkins and Hitchens interviews and he asks very good questions and is completely respectful

  • @specialfx34 I've been watching a few interviews with Ricky Gervais on youtube and this guy is easily the best interviewer.

  • @specialfx34 and he is extreamly pleasent to look at ;-) What a combination~

  • George = Hot

    Ricky = Hilarious

This is a great interview !

  • George is awesome! I went to school in the CTV building where I think they shoot this, and he would always be there. I was walking a couple meters behind him once, pretty far away actually, and he was on the phone. He stopped and held the door open for me since my hands were full. Nobody else has ever done that for me in Toronto. Great interviewer and great person!

And this interview with Ricky is prety cool...;-)

  • George is a great interviewer, we need more people like him. I'd take George over Leno any day.

I don't know what its like for Brits, but in Canada we get absolutely drowned by American TV content, so its nice to have a legitimately good alternative.

  • Agreed! George is awesome, although I'd say that Jian Ghomeshi is a bit better doing "serious" interviews (not that George is any slouch at all, of course!)

That said, I wish we could deport Evan Solomon. He's just horrible.

  • @natthor Yes you're right, and this is a Yank speaking. He's sharp.

  • yuuup, we sure do.

  • so true

  • Canada seems to spawn some really good, intelligent interviewers . . i've seem a few now from over there that have impressed me.

  • think ghost town is a brilliant movie. hilarious with a great story and has very sad moments

  • That is only your opinion whitejmw, you can like who you like, and let other people like who they like, we all win.

  • Don't know about you but I find balls getting set on fire rather funny = ]

  • @whitejmw wow, you must be a blast at parties

  • I have a psychological problem, i laughed every time some air flowing out of Gervais mouth.

  • lmao...youtunes

  • great interview ,thats the 1st time ive seen george . hes the dogs bollox ,

  • this is one of the best interviews with ricky gervais, someone who gets him and seems to be interested.not just reading from a card like most people who interview him.

  • I cannot wait until the man from the pru.

or Cemetary Junction as its been renamed. sounds great!

  • are you 'aving a laugh? is he 'aving a laugh? lol

  • hahaha "I DONT KNOW THE HEIMLICH MANEUVER!" lol

  • Indeed, and he compliments perfectly one of the most entertaining guests you can have.

  • so many ppl seem to think ricky is arrogant. but he clearly knows what he's talking about and he deserves credit for his honesty

  • I think the people that see him as arrogant mistake his characters fro his personality. I wonder how many of them ever actually spoke to him in person. I myself couldn't care less what he's like in real life. Chances are I'll never meet him. What I do care about is his humour, and boy oh boy, that's first class!

  • @donorleone Anybody who thinks Gervais is genuinely arrogant quite clearly does not understand his humour. It's called irony.

  • @donorleone Yer man he aint going to tell a lie hahaha

  • @donorleone

What would he have to be dishonest about? He just seems to love himself a bit to me.

  • @donorleone

That's the problem with ignorant people, anyone who knows what they're talking about sounds arrogant to them.

  • @donorleone the reason that so many people think ricky is arrogant is because of the fact that ricky is arrogant.

  • damn, this is a great interviewer

  • A true comedy genius. He just keeps getting better.

  • I'm from Britain so I know good quality TV when I see it. This host is very very good, and I will be watching more from this show in future.

  • I'm from the UK also and couldn't agree with you more. He seems like an unusually smart host. Good interviewer!

  • the thing is with this host is that he actually lets his guest talk.

  • usually i hate stroumbo but this is actually a good interview. -ricky has a real nice demeanor here, in most of his other talk show appearances it seems more like work than a conversation.....i like how he's showing his audience respect by not just regurgitating a bunch of old stories for 'stupid laughs'.

  • the whole comedy of the office is based on the confined walls of what you can and cannot say to be socially acceptable. the 'cringe' moments are what make it so classic! because of the documentary theme the characters cant hide from the embarrasment of social fou pas or poor reception to their jokes! people who struggle to see the humour in that should stick to the pie in the face gags!!!!!!!

  • that was a perfectly good interview, is this just the yanks banging on because its a canadian bloke? and they are so programmed to their piss weak watered down crack pot television that something worth watching just doesnt compute?

  • Kids, kids, kids, stop with the hating ... relax, its just you tube, not WWIII

  • god i hate how people describe the office as cringeworthy. i never cringe at it - just laugh my head off.

  • it is supposed to make you cringe

  • i just don't cringe easily. plus you cringe when you identify with something - i guess the office and the characters are a little too distant from me personally. i do find it brilliant though

  • haters gun hate.

  • dont no y ur all complaining, thot it was good interview,

  • why are all the comments people arguing with each other ?

    youtube ......? BITCH TUBE !

  • the interviewer is canadian and I have watched a few talk shows in england and they are fuckin stupid.

  • fuck off, it's ok you're telling him he's being retarded but don't fucking diss others countries.

  • I wasn't dissing other countries I was just commenting on the talk shows in england. Which are just as bad as most US talk shows.

  • haha English interviews by people "good" enough to be on television are generally structured coherent actually interesting. These seem to be points where most american interviewers seriously lack. Chin up boy.

  • Ricky has a bunch of good ol' canadian blood in him...

that's as cool as finding out Jimmy Carr is Irish

  • Are you Irish/Canadian like? I can never understand why that stuff really matters to people, it just seems stupid and overly patriotic to be counting celebrities of your nationality. Whenever I see people do that for Britain I can't help feel embarrassed for them - it just smacks of insecurity.

    Anyway, good interview!

  • i bet you enjoy being the dominate factor in that tiny collection of islands

though you just perpetuate the surly nature of the Brits, so good on you

  • LOL what a bizarre reply. Genuinely don't know how to respond to that, because it makes absolutely no sense given what I've just said.

Explain to me why you think I enjoy "being the dominate factor" LOL WHAT

and that last line that "I'm perpetuating the surly nature of Brits" shows you're quite clearly a prejudiced twat.

  • oh shit I'm a twat

at least I'm not embarrassed by displays of patriotism, thought i cant really claim enough Irish to matter that much, it was just a cool fact

though that may be because you guys get really rowdy over football, if i saw people acting like that i would be embarassed for my nation too

oh so embarrassed, like....i would defiantly leave the country

  • You're not just a twat, you're a prejudiced twat - which goes along nicely with your archaic beliefs that only British people get rowdy over football. Have a quick look at the rest of Europe when you break past that barrier of ignorance, okay?

I don't mind a bit of patriotism, but your type usually goes along with moronic xenophobia as you've so perfectly displayed.

I could start insulting Canada, but I'm not a tosser who attributes single negative characteristics to one certain country.

  • lol... so some people are a little obsessed with football. as if nobody else in any other country have some kind of obsession? im proud that im british. I love england, proud to be here even if it's got some problems. better than being in some boring ass country like canada. there's nothing interesting about your shitty country.

  • lawl (clap, clap) -- this coming from a country you get their knackers wet when president obama comes to visit.

  • Did he?

    I never even noticed.

  • What's an Obama?

  • his podcast is awesome!!! carl cracks me all the time!

  • It would be a pretty crap interview.

  • haha touche, I'm just saying, is that a soul patch?

  • I've just watched it again and actually, it's very good - I must have been having an off day myself...

  • bazzmcdyre you are a moron!!

  • haha, youtunes.

  • Touché.

  • I could be wrong, but I think you've spelled "devastating" wrong in the description. Could be a language thing, I don't know.

  • I could be wrong, but i think you've used quotation marks incorrectly in your comment. Could be because you're pedantic, I don't know.

  • I could be wrong, but you chose to capitalise only one of the I's in your comment and not the other. Could be the fact you're an arrogant ass-hat, I don't know.

  • you were right, its spelled devastating,

  • Let me ask you are you american.

Because its most probably a result of an american sense of humor raher than Rickys Funnyness.

  • Actually, I'm British, so I 'get' what Ricky Gervais is all about. I just didn't think he was on form here - I see my opinion has elicited firm disapproval...5 'thumbs down'?! Wow, hey, it's all good, it's just my opinion.

I think George is so, so good at what he does, I could watch him for hours...

  • I agree with you in such that Ricky was not really trying to bring the funny like he does with the American late night shows

that's why i could watch George for hours as well, he actually has a conversation.with a guest and some really cool information comes out.

  • Lol i love the way on Youtube where everyone gets really properly angry at other peoples comments, and then unleash their best swear words at the person lol. just watch the clip and get on with your life you fucking douche bag cunting prick fudger grrrrr....

  • word

  • Ricky Gervais, The best thing since xmas dinner.

  • this show host is really good, i didnt think i would watch the whole thing but the questions he asks and the responses he gets make it really intriguing. good stuff canada!

  • yeah and he's really hot too

  • He doesn't say he's half Canadian for a cheer or a "whoop".... he can get them without saying that. British people aren't like Americans or Canadians who go "oooo he's from the same place as me....let's cheer for him".... far from it infact. Ricky Gervais is one of the most talented writers in the world, he doesn't have to stoop to low rate attempts for a cheer. Also, Parky has retired.

  • i think this video is so good cos yeh he does crack the jokes and stories but you can see that he really does appreciate where he is and how he got there. but he has worked so hard to get there.

he is an absolute genius! worldwide. so glad he went over to america because he is the embodiment of english humour and the definition of sarcasm. LEGEND

  • Its a common mistake to confuse the words "Sarcasm"and "Irony",but there really is an important difference.

  • considering "Sarcasm" is also known as "Verbal Irony" there isn't much of a difference, so, y'know...

  • if you fancy a lff, go to darts 2008 bus scare.

  • Jesus mate there are dogs that get Jokes faster than you.

  • Bullshit Andremp03 im not falling for that one. Its a State right just to the left of new york?

  • Check it out on Google Maps :-P

  • Is canada in the us or mexico?

  • Are you being serious? :-O Canada is a country above the USA on the North American continent. Did they not teach you that in school?

  • Of course not you dont learn about other places in the US lol

  • HE IS NOT UP HIMSELF! PEOPLE THAT SAY THAT CLEARLY DON'T GET HIS STYLE.

Ricki Gervais is taking the piss out of himself, yes he is a genius, but he's taking the piss out of the entertainment industry when he brags about his awards. What's he supposed to do when people drop names and que him to promote himself, he just turns it round and pretends to be up his own arse.

    Ricki Gervais is spot on
