1984/85: Concerts worldwide. Having toured North Africa, Dissidenten set up camp in Tangier, Morocco.""""""" . Dissidenten’s third album SAHARA ELEKTRIK is recorded in Tangier with Lem Chaheb and their outstanding leader Cherif Lamrani. FATA MORGANA -the album’s hit song becomes famous not only in North Africa but a top dancefloor success in Europe and South America
@scorpio1111985 The original song is moroccan. The original band was called Lemchaheb, they made a fusion for a short time with a 70's (or 80's) german band called dissidenten.
first of all Dissidenten = German Group, secondly most of their GREATEST HITS are taken from MOROCCAN BANDS (Lemchaheb & Larsad), 3rdly again most of these songs are sung by Moroccan singers..like this one you've just listened to.

@sherlocolmes Honestly the lyrics of this song are clearly moroccan and not algerian, there is always simbiosis between mediterranean music, but in this case moroccan language is very clear, saludos.
As noted and sounds of singer's voice, is Hussein Kili. Agadir, Morocco. Hamid Baroudi, almost no sound, is a participant and contributor dessidenten kili. and the origin of the song, is a composition of leshrif Lamrani Lemchaheb, Morocco
@sherlocolmes No! Hamid Baroudi collaborated with Dissidenten in a number with occasion (as did MANY other world artists), but he's absolutely not a member of the band. This song in particular was a collaboration between Dissidenten and Moroccan band lemchaheb, no Algerians included!!!

@yapetuna It matters to the original artists who should get recognition for their work and a share of the benefits. You wouldn't like your hard work getting used by someone else do you?
Maravilloso.
To (nandinhovinces) and those who want to understand the lyrics: The song is about Criticising the morrocan society by provocation (in the song the band speaks about "slave served by upper-class" and " a rich neighbour who snores while sleeping" and so on).
The dissidenten is a German rock band who very often flirts with middle-east, african, indian genres.

@yapetuna It matters to the original artists who should get recognition for their work and a share of the benefits. You wouldn't like your hard work getting used by someone else do you?

@yapetuna
Maravilloso.

he song belongs originally to a Morrocan Band named " Lem Chaheb" known for a taste for western music, and a sense of provocation.

Thank You. I saw Dissidenten live, but I did not know what the lyrics meant.
