  • Hi My friend. Thanks again for your superb work and teaching. I learn a lot.My question is, I have a $3000 budget for a new guitar. I know that is personal to everyone but you, what would you choose?

My choices are...1: Gibson dove or hummingbird. 2: Martin GPCPA1. 3: Larrivee LVE09. Tell me which one according to you is the best. If you have some suggestion, I am open.

    Thank you

    Gilles

  • This guy represents a time that is alive only in memory and "what a time it was, it was". These songs must live on. Posterity must know that such songs existed and not just the noise our generation chooses to call "music". I would probably die in shame if Justin Babbler's (or whateverhisnameis) songs survive for even 10 years. Long live Simon and Garfunkel.

  • please someone tell me, when to throw in those little high notes, i dont get it from the lesson oO im not very experienced, but i got the rest down, i just need the high ones...pls pm me

  • Thanks, Mark for taking the time to share. This is the 4th song I've learned from you and as someone said previously, these lessons have definitely brought my playing (and especially fingerpicking) up a few notches. Keep it up and God bless!

I've found that it takes a few days of practice to get up to speed on each new song, so for those who are struggling, don't quit. Eventually it all comes together.

  • Hi Goldhat3!

It's been just a few months that one on my friend told me to go on utube to looks for guitar lesson...WOW that you for your help i have been really geating better.

    Ty again

  • Wondetfull! Thank you so much! :) I didn't get some of the pull offs and walkdowns, but guess I can figure them out. Why subscribe to expensive sites when we got fellars like you posting these great lessons! Thank you! PS' Do you have one for "Scarborough Fair"?

  • Yes, just search on my channel.

  • Sir, im just a liittle bit confuse about the picking pattern is. Is it 624 35243?

  • he said 5342 6342, you play either the 5 or 6 string depend on the chord you are playing. For example, if you are on the G chord, you play the 6 string, if you are on the C chord, you play the 5 string

  • Unbelievable song! I am determined to learn this tune, so thank you for all of your help. I have a request that I haven't been able to find to many covers or lessons on - simon/garfunkel's "at the zoo." It sounds like a fun song to learn and play, though don't know how hard it would be. But I'm sure for you, it would be a breeze.

  • Thz

  • This lesson is such an inspiration for me. It's a real stretch but the desire to learn the picking patterns, transitions and embelishments was so strong after watching the lesson that a practiced for hours on end. Yes..... I got it and it sounds great. I can't believe the progress I've made in just a few days of hard work. Your lessons are great.

  • Great! You should post a video of your new song. Once you have mastered this one, you can learn about any Simon & Garfunkel song.

  • thank you... i was really confused until i saw this

  • Very nice! Thank You very much!

  • Great great great guitar teacher!!! =)

    It sounds very beautiful...

  • You just taught me to play that song.... thankyou very much... brilliant, you have made my day !!! Cheers mate !!

  • You are awesome and very encouraging. I 've been playing acoustic for more than a decade but I am awful at the picking patterns - thanks for the clear discussion!

  • This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you so much.

  • Hi, thanks for posting this. I got the beginning no problem but can you explain a little more about how you pick the G chords? Do you just stretch out the picking pattern for all 6 strings? Obviously you are doing the 1 and 2 strings rather than the 2 and 3 but it isn't sounding right when I'm doing it.

  • I keep the same pattern but I reach out and grab the first string g, f, and e notes. It's a little tricky because he does that a little different timing from the other notes. Keep practicing and you will get it.

  • thanks! learning these "simple" finger picking patterns, etc, now...they are simple, thanks to u!

  • brilliant breakdown...you have helped me alot!!

  • thanks, nice simple instructions. I`m curious as to the autographs on your guitar..

  • You are a legend, more songs explained like this please... Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, etc.. thanks!

  • A legend. Nice, I like the sound of that.
