i played the original all the time as a kid and loved it. in this game so many charecters return every level is different, its hard rewarding, fun, funny, nd had me smileing the entire time. AND GET THIS the water controls are perfect, first time i had fun with a water level in a wile. the controls are perfect, so you can only blame your self for your mistakes. best platforemer i'v played in a wile and very nostalgic. 10/10

@ultraquatman what make it nostalgic for me is first of all rayman's back in a sidescroller, lots of charecters return like the first nymph, guy in the magic hat, those old green enemys. this game is also prety wacky like the original. the original also had a music world. rayman 1 unlike origins was VERY slow paced. the 2 games are so different yet so alike its kinda hard to say extctaly what made it nostalgic :B

Have you played any other Wii platformers like Return to Dreamland or DK Returns? I want to get this game or one of those two for Xmas and everyone seems to say Rayman is challenging and it looks pretty nice. What do you think?

@loganlaromar I have not played it but kirby looks like it has a lot of variety with your moves but very easy. I own DKC and donkey doesn't have a lot of moves but it's EXTREMELY challenging. I feel Rayman origins covers the best of both worlds with variety and challenge. Just to not sound bias I'd say get the one that makes you want to play it most.

Good review :) and by the whole 'origins story, they changed it into a sequel instead of a prequel. don't know why, I would've enjoyed playing the game as it keeps the origin story forward.

@TheKopex In a way it also sets up the first game with the teensie being mister dark and rayman is chilling at the beginning not taking it seriously because he knows that he can save the electoons.

Really better than DKCR? That's one of my favorite platformers out there.

@Fungusdude42 I felt the pacing was better, I enjoyed the interactiveness of the platformers like wall jumping and the levels are more memorable. I just prefer 2d over 2.5D because I know that it's not confined to 3D weight.

Wii version lacks the graphics of the ps3 and 360. Same gameplay though. Great comments btw, though I would love if you included video.

@PedanticGamer The Wii version has the same animation and graphics but are in standard definition rather than high with the 360 and ps3. Plus it's cheaper too. I'm just glad that there is no inferior version like sonic unleashed.

I agree, fantastic, but 1080p at 60hz on ps3 and 360 make it the better version. But yes, its great to see the same game overall on all consoles thus far.
