  • I think Centrowitz should have gone with the Kenyans when they made their push with 600 to go. He could have been within striking distance for the 400m push... Then again, he DID medal so go America!

  • That was pretty awesome. Sailas won Kenyan Championships being cocky at the end (turning around and waving his finger in the air saying hes #1) and karma came back on the worlds biggest stage

  • That's amazing for Center yo be up with the kenyans

  • Did i see a mullet in that race lol

  • Not long ago I was reading about Centrowitz in the Washington Post (High School) sports section - its great to see a born and bread American doing so well. He needs more recognition for this, as does Jennifer Simpson. They'll definitely get it next summer if they keep running like this

  • What happened to willis? He just fell back hard...

  • if centrowitz would have made his move earlier he might have won, instead he got boxed in

  • @Jetkillr Maybe true. He still ran well and confident for a first championship.

  • @cegtown yes he did for sure and not to take away anythinig from any of the other runners. a good race for all. Im a firm believer that anything can happen in any race. In that last 100 meters there were about 5 people that could have won.

  • @Jetkillr I looked at this video one more time. I really didn't see him get boxed but maybe not respond to the packs' move at the beginning of the last lap quickly enough and allowed too much separation. Perhaps, he felt too confident in his finishing speed or COULD NOT go with them when the pace changed. I don't know, but I didn't see any significant box-in that hurt his race. That's what I saw the second time viewing this. Its just an opinion, respectfully.

  • @cegtown ah yea you are right i must have been looking at someone else : / Thats a good run though at that level. I think it would have been interesting if he would have taken off at the 800 mark.

  • @Jetkillr I think a move from 800m out is suicidal here. Plus, the Kenyans, performing as teammates, had a game plan and a bit of an advantage while working with one another. They struck for home together at 400m to go. Centro's result was probably the best case scenario for him within these conditions.

  • @cegtown There was some speculation about his las lap. I thought he was going backwards until about the last 250. Perhaps he didn't think his kick would work until about 250-200 left, which is why he may have drifted back at the bell. To think though his last lap was still clocked around 51.6; if he had gone with the leaders it could have been around 51 low, but that may be asking for a bit much at his current level. Still a brilliant run from him, and I hope to see more in the near future.

  • holy crap everyone here was really good. the group stayed together the whole time and the 1st and 8th place guys had were under two seconds apart. It was really amazing to see everyone put in their greatest effort especially in the last lap

  • Matt Centrowitz just made the revival of american distance running official. Pre got 4th in the olympics at 21, centrowitz just got bronze at the WC's at 21.... comparable.

  • @xxxDAPROBLEMxxx lets hope he doesn't die at 24.

  • Where's Bernard Lagat?

  • @29brandon93 Bernard Lagat is due to run in the 5000m.

  • very nice closing by Centrowitz! next time the gold!

  • less than 2 second difference from 1st to 8th..truly a scary race

  • Centrowitz!!! :)

  • CENTRO!!!!!

  • Kenya rocks!

  • KENYA, USA!

  • Now, that's what i'm talking about...Go Kenya...!
