Can do the same with a vise and hand grinder. The problem is neither have a jig so its a feel type of thing. Seen a really nice one with a jig. The advantage is the cut is univorm, it won't allow you to change the angle or remove too much off one area over another.
Next to that using a hand file is the best. You can get a razer sharp blade which is a must for mulching.
since you are actually removing the metal from the blade (note the sparks in the video) you do not create near the amount of heat in the part. If you use a good abrasive belt, with a supersized coat, the amount of heat that is created in the part will feel warm to the touch.
A common misconception since most people have never used a belt grinder with a belt designed for metal removal. Most people have only used a belt grinder. Please stop by and see us at an upcoming show, its an education
