@badboi0717 umadbro? jk. probably their best/second best album. i only say that because theyve made it almost 20 years by doing the same thing - solid live beats, and conscious lyrics with meaning. radio could take a lesson from this and do more.
i just want 2 thank everybody for checkin this video out and recognizing REAL Music i Lov seeing the discussions in the comments please keep them coming and for those of you who checked out the blog & twitter you might have noticed that we've been down for a couple of months now but we are working hard @relaunching better then ever really soon
The Roots the old style and the new their still one of the best hiphop groups I've ever heard. I've been feeling these guys since 1995 andf they creativity never ceases to amaze me. This is another stunning tune long may they continue to making music that make yours soul sing and your feet groove. xx
@jdskinny212 The album's great, listen to more than 3 tracks.
And their last album had Mos Def, Common, Styles P......who cares?
The guest fit the album well. Dice Raw's basically a "Root" and has been for 15 years, and Phonte and Blu are 2 of the best rappers today. Putting them on the album was dope, and they did their thing and added to the album in a positive way.
@jacksoncrockett No, sir. @whoiscarlito commented that he loved the bassline. I agreed like a mug. By Hub I was referring to Leonard "Hub" Hubbard, the original from The Roots. The bassline is so dope that I think it's as good as anything he had played with them.
They did it again. The Roots Crew FTW! Each time they reinforce why they will be remembered as legendary pioneers of music, especially when our current music industry is defunct and bunk as fuck.

The way this dude sings is so subtle - the complete opposite of some of the modern divas with their histrionics and "oh baby" bullshit.
Best album in ages.

Anyone notice that The Roots is the longest rap "band" (not just group) that has existed in Hip Hop? Since 93 and still going!!!
caliguy51021 1 year ago
@caliguy51021
De La Soul has existed way longer. Roots might be 2nd tho.

after three tracks I think it's safe to say this is the Roots' take on Atmosphere's album "When life gives you lemons..."
does no one else want to appear on Roots albums but P.O.R.N. or Dice Raw anymore?
