None of these guys running this fast have orginal numbers matching drive trainings. Maybe date coded correctly but most are not. Not many would know any different! But it is fun to watch and dream!
@mercmarc Valvetrain. To much camlift in a stock pontiac valvetrain will cause ''coil bind''. You can solve the problem by changing the rocker arms and valve springs.
you guys run up there much? havent been there for a while, switched motors in my car and should be back soon. lookin for some people to run against. kinda curious to see what this bigger motor will do without the bottle. if anyone actually wants to run against me, just email me @ mikeclouse@gmail.com not looking to start fights, just trying to find some people to go racing with
my cousin is fortunate enough to have found a 1967 Shelby GT500, and it's amazing, he's cleaned it up, rebuilt it and races it both in drags and autocross.
I own a 79 Trans Am, last of the 400s.
These are meant to be driven, these are meant to run. It's their meaning, and purpose. Not to be put on display or put into a trailer.
My cousin put 12,000 racing miles on his GT500 the past three years. As far as I'm concerned, someone can make a replica for the museums, let the originals run!
I love seeing old muscle cars do what they were meant to, but if thats a real sd and a real 68 t/a...they should be babied a little bit lol. dont wanna destroy either theyre rare. nice cars though! t/as rock i got one as my first car 79

Ive read that pontiac engines dont respond to high lift/duration cams as well as chevys. Why is that?

Why would anyone keep a stock R,A 4 in original condition, if it was a collector car it would have no business being on the track.
TRASUPO 2 years ago
GM didn't design and engineer "show cars". I grew up racing these cars........guess I never grew up huh?
brunobel 2 years ago
Was that a "real" RAIV car? (original or built to RAIV specs?) Most were RAIII's. . .
Cash2112 3 years ago
i think its a copy car. this guy would have to be out of his mind if that was a real trans am
doctorchalupa 3 years ago 4
Yes, in fact its a real Trans Am. The engineers at GM would be so proud of me.
brunobel 2 years ago 5
It was born a RAiii but underwent extensive heart surgery later in life.
