I hired Valtez to lay down drum tracks for my first record back in 94, and he refused to play any of the beats I charted claiming that "the best drums cannot be transcribed onto paper", Needless to say his drug use was a definite plus in the studio, and once I got past the fact that he couldn't use a metronome, keep a steady beat or do anything but spasm, we were able to make some history. It was only a matter of time before "The moistening" was at the top of all the reggae/bluegreass charts
ive been telling my drummer to do this techinique for years and she constantly refused. but as soon as she watched ur tutorial shes replaced all her "traditional" fills with something truly special. technique > timing/quality. please post more
